I'm 70 years old and this video makes me want to go to my public park with some corn and fish for the bullhead and small channel catfish as well as the carp that are out there.
People are literally sleeping on using corn. It works on panfish, catfish, and carp. Also less turtles to worry about when bottom fishing as they don’t bother corn nearly as much as some other baits such as worms or bread. Nice video man. Thanks.
😂😂😂😂 Let me tell you about those turtles. There's a pond behind where I live and of course I fish the pond. Loaded with blue gill and bass and idk how many turtles but there's a lot of them. There's not a day where I don't catch at least 3 of them. Oh and yes I'm using corn!
So I had gone to a local pond to catch bluegill for blue catfish bait. I put a bobber above a size 12 salmon egg hook with a single kernel of corn. I would pop the bobber occasionally to draw bluegill. An 8lb largemouth ate the bobber and the corn. The small hook was stuck exactly in the corner of his mouth.
Wow. Now that is bragging rights right there. Get a bass that big to hit a kernel of corn. You have me motivated to go fishing with corn again. Good job bud
My son took his daughter to a stocked pond at cabela's and the other kids were using worm and not having much luck, but my sons daughter was pulling them in left and right with her corn bait, so they shared the corn with the other kids so they could catch fish, but the corn was the secret for pan fish. 🤠👍
Finally youtuber had sent me a notification that you dropped a new video. For some reason I haven't been getting your new videos I thought you has stopped making them or something had happened but glad to see everything is ok. Sir that is an awesome bait and it is cheap and anyone can efford it lol. Sir keep up the awesome fishing and videos till the next one GodBless and Tight Lines
Yeah I don’t get you tube sometimes BJ. I’ve not seen videos from people for years and then bam and go and look and they have hundreds of videos since they stopped showing up. Thanks bud
Yes! Me too there was a trout farm not far from my house my mom took me to a couple times and we would catch rainbows every drop of the corn. They couldn’t resist it.
WOW, two weeks ago a grandma pulled up to the community water spot and she asked if anyone was catching fish? Just about everyone (mainly kids) said no. She walk up to the bridge with her granddaughter and said, let's show them how we catch fish. She took out a can of corn and just about every cast they caught a fish, granted they were all small perch, but man on man, did she bring excitement to every little boy fishing on that bridge. I must admit, I was a little shocked myself and I'm 65. Bottle line, You're never too old to learn something new....
After I retired from my career, I went to work at Bass Pro Shops. Used to get fussed at for recommending whole kernel corn for people to use as trout bait. I even told them that we should stock corn to sell. Never tried it for panfish, I'll try it.
Yep they don’t want ya selling 62 cent cans of corn. They want ya to sell that $6.20 can of powerbait. That corn catches those panfish for sure. Thanks bud!
@@TBassFactory That's what I told customers, .99 for a can of Green Giant whole kernel corn containing at least 300 separate baits, or how ever much rooster tails or powerbait was back then. Don't get me wrong, they all have their place, but whole kernel corn will normally out produce anything. I'm subscribing. Edit; I keep mentioning Green Giant whole kernel corn because in my experience it has a thicker outer hull and stays on the hook much better than any other brands I tried.
🎣 one thing I hate about fishing with corn is the fact that you catch a lot of eels with it but trout loves it. Also eels does make good catfish and striper bait too.
I have never caught an eel shawn. I’ve seen a couple swimming on bottom before when I would shine a spotlight down at night. Sounds like a good way to catch some catfish and striper tho.
Once while ice fishing on Red fish lake in Idaho we saw where a man had been catching lots of trout. He left and we went to his spot. We limited out then went home. When we cleaned our fish they were full of corn. He had chummed the hole( illegal in Idaho
Y yo que sufro para buscar lombrices, nunca había visto pescar panfish con granos de elote, haré la prueba la próxima aventura de pesca. Buen video y excelente tip, se te agradece. Saludos.
Im still fighting over which is better, Corn or Crappie Nibble. I use both and always catch them, but benefit is corn is very cheap and catches catfish & carp aswell
Been gonna try using corn for ice fishing but haven't yet. Canned corn vs frozen corn? I assume canned has some salt in it so might be better? But frozen might not be as mushy?
I tried corn Saturday. First I threaded the entire hook with about 5 kernels of corn. The Bream hit it, but missed the barb. Then I placed one kernel on the hook, covering the barb; it was like a magnet. There were no missed strikes. Thanks for the informative video.
Hey Joseph look for structure or any place where fish would likely stick to. As long as the fish are in the area you’ll definitely land some. Also make sure not to use a hook that’s too big.
I'm 70 years old and this video makes me want to go to my public park with some corn and fish for the bullhead and small channel catfish as well as the carp that are out there.
Yes. I think a lot of people have forgotten how good that corn is. I remember from when I was a kid and hadn’t done it in awhile and it catches them.
Make it happen....! U deserve Joy
Thanks for the gulp bait. I'm 72 and still using my original zebco I got with s and h green stamps 1968
Oh yeah! Thats awesome Harold! Go get get them bud!
lol @ 2:25 He liked the corn so much he went back for seconds jumping out of your hand and went to rolling around in it! 🤣
Ha yeah I didn’t think of it that way. He sure did.
I'm 70 years old ! I've been using canned corn for fishing since I was 7 years old !!!
Yes! Thats what I love to hear Darrell! It definitely has been catching them for a long time! Thats awesome bud!
Takes me back, I’m 50 and use to fish with corn a lot and always did good. Great video
Yes! I did it a lot when I was a kid and it’s so much fun to still fish with it and catch em! Thanks bud!

Yes your so right. It’s an underestimated bait for catching some good ones.

Trout too
Never worked for me
Figuratively not literally
I'm 67 and this is my first time hearing corn will catch fish I will try this thanks for the tip 😂

That right there is awesome. Sounds like a good lesson for all of them!
Corn is the best thing to use! My kids go crazy every time they land pan fish!
Yes I love hearing that excitement from the kiddos
Definitely gonna try the corn next time i go bream fishing. If it works, I can save tons of $$ on live baits
I usually drink the water from the corn can. It may not seem appetizing but it’s actually very refreshing.
I like corn so doesn’t sound too crazy. Unless it had been sitting in the sun and got hit that doesn’t sound too refreshing.
@@TBassFactory Lol. Yeah, no it’s usually right when I open it to use it. After that, it’s for the fishes.
I thought I was the only one who drank the corn juice 😅

Yes! You got that right!
We used to catch trout on corn also.

Ive been using worms a lot lately, but after watching this im gonna try corn... Seems like the perfect bait
It works good, but I love worms too
Grampa used corn when I was growing up 👍🤠👍. Corn never failed
Mine too it always worked

On my next fishing trip I'm taking some corn 😊🐟🐟🐟🐟🎣🎣
Yes! They catch em!
Thanks for the video. Now i know another way to catch bluegills for catfish bait.
Yes sir! Those cats are fun to catch and delicious

My neighbor son tells his parents every Friday to buy him a can of corn and he goes fishing. I tried it and it WORKED

Big time illegal
🌽😃👍🏼 Im going to try corn next time fishing with my son! 🎏Thanks for sharing brother
You’re welcome bud!

Hasta mucho tiempo yo pesca con maiz. Esta muy bien para consigned la pescados. Gracias amigo!
Awesome! I'm surprised it stayed on the hook when you were casting. I'm gonna give this a shot.
It definitely works. They were slamming it. I hope you catch them if you go.
Definitely will be trying
Yes sir!
Don't forget to chum them up with some scattered corn. Oats mixed with a can ot tuna fish is also dynamite on chumming all kinds of fish.
Yes but that chumming is illegal and my experience just on a hook drives them nuts
Will try this today!
Awesome good luck bud
Ive been bluegill fishing for years, but never they eat corn. I use to catch big ones with bread and or hot dogs when i was a lad
Yes! Thanks for that Kelvin. I need to go fishing with bread I haven’t done that in a little while
Thinking about tossing some corn to lure some bluegill in for spearfishing…
It would do it. Some
States chumming is illegal so make sure and check.
Where are you?

Yep they both are good but it’s gonna come down to one of em! I pick corn all day!
How'd it go?
We're eating corn for dinner.
Ha I caught em!
7:45 nice live bait :)
Thanks bud!
Sweet!
Yes!
Outside of a bend. Cool.
Oh yes!
But the bluegill @ lake Okeechobee wont eat 🌽 i dont think, only crickets and worms
Oh man. Thats crazy. Here in Texas you throw a hook out with corn it’s almost immediately hit.
Dude, that corn HAS been cooked! Buy, whatever, it darn sure worked!
Yes! So much fun catching em with it!
Do you have an alternative to corn? In my home state of Maine we are not allowed to use corn for the purposes of fishing.
Powerbait for trout or peas work just the same.
I put on 3 pieces of corn on my hooks
I bet that does the trick. More for them to eat.
What size hook did you use?
Eagle claw sells a tiny panfish assortment and I grabbed them quick for Walmart so I had some small hooks that would work.
Been gonna try using corn for ice fishing but haven't yet. Canned corn vs frozen corn? I assume canned has some salt in it so might be better? But frozen might not be as mushy?
I would use canned corn the kernels are still pretty solid and not mushy.
Been using corn for 50+ years.
It definitely works!
How are you hooking the corn kernel? Side to side or what?
My hooks are so small usually as long as i get the hook through the outsides it stays on a little longer.
Thanks TBassFactory, what size hooks do you use?
I tried corn Saturday. First I threaded the entire hook with about 5 kernels of corn. The Bream hit it, but missed the barb. Then I placed one kernel on the hook, covering the barb; it was like a magnet. There were no missed strikes. Thanks for the informative video.
Does the kernel have to cover the tip of the hook?
I leave my hook point open to get that hook set
The American native people used corn as bait
It’s been being used for fishing for a long time then
@@TBassFactory yes it has
Would corn work in Salt water?
It probably would but it would depend on what your trying to catch too tho
Corn
Yes!
that is a longear sunfish that is bot a redbreast
Thank ya Charles!
Good way to get bait
Yes! Absolutely a great way.
Yes corn works but too many people use it to chum with. Fish can't digest it and die from it!!!!
Yep that’s the wrong way to do it
Looks like a lot of fun .
I am going to corn a second chance. In the past I never had any bites, bread and earthworms have done the best
Yeah you should give it a try joseph. I was quite surprised how much they wanted it.
Hey Joseph look for structure or any place where fish would likely stick to. As long as the fish are in the area you’ll definitely land some. Also make sure not to use a hook that’s too big.
@@gvyberv Thank you for the advice going to give it a try
@@TBassFactory yes sir will give it a second chance
corn is carp and trout bait never heard of anything else wanting it.
Yeah I’ve been catching em with it for years! Thanks bud!
You can’t throw them back. They go back and tell the rest of the fish what’s up.
They would be better in a frying pan!
They sure would be!
I've had better luck with corn in 30 years than anything you can buy.
Worms and corn for me and you always catch em if they biting
Why sport fish?
Cause its fun
Yep it’s fun and it also teaches my kids how to survive and create laughing good memories with their dad
Would , could , should , but shure as shit it ain't, corn for carp and deer , try a red worm , hang on 😅
I agree worms catch em! Thanks Dan!
Corn? Illegal in many states. Know the regulations before you use corn as bait.
Yes only state I believe it is illegal to fish with corn is Rhode Island. Other states it is illegal to chum with corn but can fish with it.
Fish can’t digest corn. Way to kill a bunch that you don’t catch!
Haven't been cooked yet?????🤔
Nope ha
I read the fishing laws for minnesota this year and found that fishing with corn is now illegal. There are calling it littering!
Are those white or yellow corn? I couldn’t tell from the video. Does it matter which color?
