Driver`s Eye View: Trondheim to Mosjøen.

- This is another run between Trondheim and Mosjøen, we are starting out from a dark and rainy Trondheim city before we are heading north and ending up in a winter wonderland. This is also the longest night and the shortest day of the year. From now on the days are getting longer and the daylight are returning little by little.
Sit back and enjoy the journey, and if there is something you are wondering about just leave a comment.
The only editing done to the video is that i have cut the video when we are waiting for other trains.
And as always i have edited out any conversations that was in the video.

This is a Di4 yes, the Di stands for Diesel
I noticed the horn was blown at the Yellow signs with a horizontal line on it. The placement of those horn signs seemed a bit arbitrary. What is the purpose of the signs where they are. Wonderful video thank you.
The signs are placed to remind a driver to sound the horn when approaching a non-gated crossroads. A vertical line in the sign means that the train is approaching a station or platform.

@@FozenMoustache We took the day-train to Bodø and stayd for 4 nights and then return to Trondheim in a sleeper. The daytime-trip was a memory for life, the return sleeper was somthing to forget I am afraid. So much to be done with the sleeper-service I could write a book about it.. :-) Thanks for your posts!
@@pererikakerjordet1735 I`m sorry to hear that you had that experience with the service in the sleeper. What was the main reason that you did not enjoy this? The driving, comfort in the compartment, customer service etc?
There is always a option to complain if something is not right :)
@@FozenMoustache The driving was excellent, but the cabins are to crampy and without toilet witch is important when you have passed your 60... :-). I am not asking for a Caledonian Sleeper experience, but the potential between Trondheim and Bodø is enormous! The coaches should have been refurbished long time ago and I hope SJ realize this. Any changes in traction? What is the horizon for the Di4? Awaiting your next video and wish you a happy new year!
@@pererikakerjordet1735 I see, i guess there is a lot that could be done. But the problem is that SJ, VY and GoAhead does not own any of the trains they are using. Everything is owned by NorskeTog. So i guess there would be some issues about cost and stuff like that. but i can agree that there is certain thing that need a upgrade..
There is some changes in traction during winter, but the main problem is icing and snow on the disk brakes.
The worst season is the autumn where the leaves is falling on the tracks.
The last thing i heard is that the DI4 is going to operate until 2027.

Godt nytt år! Great to see a new video of this line. Thank you FMR. A couple of questions Sir. 1> Presumably this is loco hauled? (Would be nice to know details of the train). Also, am I correct in thinking that your operating territory is the line between Mosjøen, Trondheim, and Dombas?
Godt nyttår! Im glad you liked this, and i hope to get some new videos out this month as we are hoping for some snow now.
This is loco hauled, i will include the train details in the future. Loco, weight and length of the train.
I`m operating those lines and a few others, i dont have any recordings that are useable of the other lines.
That is a line called Rørosbanen, where we are taking another turn out from Støren heading for Røros and the end of that line is Hamar.
The other line is Meråkerbanen, where we are taking another turn at Hell heading over to Sweeden, but due to the COVID-19 and travel restrictions all trains to Sweeden are cancelled.

Hej, det er trevlig med en nyere video fra denne linja, men har Di4:en så dålige lys? Ser ju ikke noe i begynnelsen av videon.

DI4 har ikke så dårlige lys som det virker, men med et lite kamera så blir det bare mørkt. Derfor har det vært få filmer i vinter pga lite snø og dårlig lys.
RailCowGirl har et kamera som gjør veldig gode, lyse videoer i mørket, men det er også skikkelig dyrt.
Denne videoen her er ikke mindre yndefull, jeg elsker denne stemningen. Bra gjort som alltid.

Liker denne filmen og de andre filmene du har lagt ut. Det har skjedd del forandringer siden Nordlandsbanen minutt for minutt ble lagt ut. Flere planoverganger har blitt fjernet siden den gang. Det syns jeg er kjekt å få med. Steinkjer-Trondheim vil jeg fremheve fordi man får se banen i sørlig retning. Takk for dine filmer.
