So, I got in on the Ground Floor, and even my 18 year old sister would watch. ( I'm HS Class of 2003. ) Degrassi:TNG was just the right mix of 'totally out there,' and real life personal, and social issues. They used to have the best 'bumper music,' as well, such as Duffy. I watched season 1 when I got to college because TeenNick would run marathons. Great video by the way, please keep these coming!!!!
I started watching Degrassi during Clare’s seasons. I used to hate the promos on teen Nick because I thought it was just a show about teens having sex all the time. I couldn’t find the remote and I remember one episode was on a rerun..it was the episode Jenna was pregnant and told KC…the end of the episode ended with KC basically telling Jenna she was on her own. I was shookith and had to see how it ended. I ended up binge watching all of season 10 up until the current season 13. Then I started to watch the show from the very beginning and I swear nothing had put me in a chokehold like season 3…to this day it’s my favorite season of Degrassi. This show is literally unlike any other and I recommend it to literally anyone..it was a masterpiece
I first started watching Degrassi when I was in middle school 2001, me and my friends would come back to school and talk about the episodes each week. This show was so relatable as a young teen and helped me navigate through my teenage years. I’m 34 now and rewatch the show every few years and still have the same emotions. I stop watching around season 8, the cast from season 1-7 were just to damn good! There is no show like Degrassi and these recaps are amazing!
We are here at the same time with the same thoughts and experiences haha only my sister and I were the only ones we knew who watched. It really was pivotal for our childhood too. A lot of season 1 helped me navigate helping my own daughter w online safety and getting her first period lol it cracks me up to this day, I was on top of the washing machine getting cleaning supplies down for my afternoon chores and my sister gets home from school after me…she runs in and says “Jimmy from degrassi is a rapper named Drake now!!” 😂😂😂
The writers gave redemption to Peter well before he deserved it. And hooking him up with Emma was a poor story choice. Honestly, this season was where I started to lose my interest in the series.
@@packnetadaija But nah this is getting out of hand. What are you doing watching Degrassi videos? You don't even like this show for real. This is ALL ME 👇🏼😂😂.
@@packnetadaija "BABY THERE'S A SHARK IN THE WAAAATER 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️". With that being said you were probably a big fan of Drake's music video for "I'm Upset" then.
I caught the show when I was 13 in 7th grade, I think I was at season 3 at the time. My friend had all of the episodes recorded on a VHS tape and I caught to that way and with reruns on the N. I found out about Degrassi junior high and Degrassi high and all of the Degrassi forums online. UA-cam back in the 2000s had all the episodes online to watch that was pulled from CTV in Canada. (It aired in Canada before the US) I would read the scripts online from aired episodes in Canada and tell my friends what I predicted would happen LOL and find the aired Canadian episodes online earlier than everyone. It became apart of my life and it felt so relatable and helped me through depression at that age. This show will always have a piece of my heart.
I think i first caught an episode during the every degrassi ever marathon on The N or teennick. Immediately fell in love and cycled back to the degrassi originals series’ from the 80s. This show gives me so much nostalgia
watched till the end of this video, been binging the degrassi videos you posted! i used to have a degrassi podcast and there's a degrassi shaped hole in my heart! your story of saying people making fun of you in school for making videos made me upset for you but I'm glad you were able to overcome
i started watching Degrassi when it was airing on Teen Nick during Claire's generation and i loved it and for the longest time i couldn't find the earlier seasons anywhere to stream but in 2019 i found the whole show on youtube and watched it all and loved it (i even watched degrassi high and junior high and the movie)
I started watching Degrassi when I was 12 or 13. Back in Degrassi Jr High days. It blew my mind. So when I was older and found out it had come back, I gladly watched all the way through.
I always enjoyed how the issues were serious but didn’t glamorize them or even make it “sexy” like RIVERDALE or EUPHORIA lmao. It’s a great show with actual teens & serious problems. It’s a comfort show for me.
i started watching degrassi when i think the beginning of season 4 was airing, i was 10. my first new episodes after catching a bunch of reruns on the n were the ones right after the shooting. it was all i could think about for ages (as an adult i figured out i had undiagnosed autism and it was my first special interest). it's been 20 years and i still rewatch it often, through the start of the next generation through next class, i love it all and it means so much to me. i'm currently working through the whole show with my fiancee and it's their first time seeing it and it's been really special getting to see the show through fresh eyes again thanks to them. i love these videos, i can't wait for the next
Manny Santos...my, how youve grown 😂😂 *edit* i like how Miss H said "accidents will happen" when JT and Liberty crashed, it was the title of the episode where Manny also finds out shes pregnant And Emma was trifling for dating Peter after he did what he did to Manny
Facts!! Emma was a very shitty friend to Manny, yeah she didn’t get her best friend shot like Spinner did with Jimmy, but still dating a guy that temporarily ruined your best friend’s life?! That’s gotta be fucked up.
@@maloneaqua simply put, Emma was just selfish. Every time Manny gets a good moment or she’s going through something, Emma immediately starts thinking about herself and instead of Supporting her friend, she gets in the way. Also I just hate that Manny keeps coming back to Emma despite how horribly she treated her. I get it that she needed to help Emma from her eating disorder at that time and they’ve been best friends since daycare, but it doesn’t mean they gonna be and still is a toxic person towards you. I just hate strong independent women or crap people in general, going through all this and not taking the responsibility to leave and never look back
I started ocassionally watching degrassi on teennick when i was around 13 years old. After some research i discovered that it started in the 80's and dtng around 2001. I watched everything from dtng, dnc and some of djh/dh multiple times and it has helped me going through some major stuff when i was going through my teenage years. I LOVE this show with whole my heart and i enjoy these long recaps ❤❤❤
I started watching Degrassi when it was Degrassi High and just fell in love with the realness of the show. I felt like I knew the characters. They were the people went to school with, they were me.
I started watching Degrassi when I was high school my freshman year I absolutely love it means so much to me because it gave me hope and my dreams come true my favorite couple is eclair i just love Claire and Eli they are perfect to me and this show is amazing I love you thank you for making videos like this
Degrassi helped me get through a lot of things in school. Ellie's self harm ep helped me get help and the ED episode really helped feel less alone but sadly I'm still in recovery but it rewatching it here made feel bad for Emma because I know what it's like to try to maintain control in your life when you have none
I started watching Degrassi on the N with my sister when they would have the Every Degrassi Ever marathons. It was a fun, teen show & I was a teen. As I got more into the lessons, the characters & the stories, I learned more about important topics & the world around me.
Degrassi hit at exactly the right time for me; I was about 12 when season 1 premiered, so literally the exact demographic for it. I was absolutely hooked from day 1. It was the right amount of heightened "reality" for me at the time. It was also a bit awkward, as my sister and I only got to see it at my dad's house and he watched with us (limited tvs). I still remember some of the less than fun conversations around "special episodes" (Paige's rape, Ellie cutting, etc). But it was probably a good thing overall, him trying to connect with us. I watched religiously way past my time, through to the end of Clare's run, and still caught a few episodes here and there till the very end. Had to peep the NB representation with Yael in later seasons. It kinda dropped off in quality and got more melodramatic, but... teenagehood feels intense. And while they probably pushed more trauma on the characters than the average kid goes through (to keep the number of characters more manageable, I'm sure), none of it felt super out there. I think Degrassi always tried to be 'real', even if they didn't always stick the landing.
@@alexandraethridge2232 both statements are true. She said they made her do it while battling one herself at the time and her sister died from an ED as well.
Congrats to 1k!!! I’ve been loving this series so much and I normally don’t comment but I gotta show love when it comes to fellow Degrassi fans ❤️❤️ keep up the good work we’re eating this shit up truly 😂
Spinners arc in this season was well done, he finally became a real man by stop acting like a asshole of a coward who got his best friend shot cuz he was bullying a kid and blamed him so Raditch would lay off of him. But he finally decided to be a better person and becomes a real man who is filled with responsibility. From forgiving himself through Darcy, and getting toxic influences like Jay out of his life. If there’s one thing that most men need to learn is that being a man isn’t just about putting on muscle, being confident and standing up for yourself, it’s truly doing and fighting for what is right and having responsibilities for how you adapt in life and your actions.
I was 11 when Degrassi TNG started but I didn’t have cable growing up. I only knew about because of a friend but once in a while they’d air episodes on local channels, specifically this season so i remember Emma’s ED storyline being the first episode I ever watched. Once I was able to find websites that streamed Degrassi, I was able to start watching it in real time from season 8. While season 8 was airing, I was catching up. It was hell looking for websites lol but I did it and I fell in love with the show. I wish I could have watched it as it was airing from the beginning because a lot of the earlier seasons the characters were my age. I love how different Degrassi is from other shows. The characters felt like they could have gone to hs with me. That being said, this may be an unpopular opinion but this is one of the best seasons of Degrassi. I love every single storyline. There was so much character growth especially Alex, Spinner, and Jimmy.
2:00:53 "World Peace, a salami sub and a chnace to talk to my good friend Hazey." "We're not friends." 😂😂😂 Why do I find Jay funny? Plus, I love Hazel and wished her character had more spotlight episodes.❤
Been watching the degrassi videos but I havent commented before I think? I watched it when it was on for a while but wasnt as into it as my younger sibling (I'm 30 now) but what got me invested was the introduction of Adam - he was younger than me, but more importantly I was coming to terms with the fact that I'm a trans man when he was introduced. That really hit hard and got me hooked, since there was baaically zero trans men on tv back then. Seeing on TV someone who was trans and was treated as one of the guys was huge for me.
I started watching the show because I basically like to collect shows like baseball cards, and I'm trying to make my way through all of the most iconic shows on television and Degrassi is definitely one of them. I really got hooked after we saw Manny's makeover at the beginning of Season 3, the show didn't feel like it was just about young kids anymore, they were in high school so the drama was ramping up and I love some good drama.
I started Degrassi with i think season 10 (in 2013) to improve my english. Now watching your videos to catchup on the earlier seasons i never got around to watch
Good stuff. I remember seeing previews for Degrassi the Next Generation s1 e1. The N/Noggin was new, and my family had a satellite dish. It was really special because i was the same age as the younger characters when it came out. I remember subsequent previews for certain episodes. I watched Time Stands Still when it was brand new. It was absolutely terrifying. Still is. At 33 years old i still watch episodes on Max. So nostalgic! One note, Spinner isn't a JW. I used to be one. Hearing that randomly makes me shudder like the hyenas saying Mufasa in Lion King 😳
2:00:36 degrassi has this thing for acting like a year ago was actually like, half a decade ago 😂 another example: Dean in season 4 telling Paige what happened was a long time ago… sir that happened less than 2 years ago 😭
Hooooold on a minute. Rent for that apartment was $750 a month. That guy gave JT EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS??? He was literally holding the first month. I dunno, I just feel like a lot COULDVE been avoided here. JT DID NOT have to ask for more money lmfaooooo
I started watching Degrassi on Nick during Season 14. I hated it but loved it at the same time. I fell in love with Maya's class and watched all the way through Next Class before deciding to go back and watch EVERYTHING
I honestly can't remember why I got into Degrassi, but I grew up watching it at such a young age, when it was airing. I used to watch it on Tv all the time. I stopped watching around season 8 I think....but the first handful of seasons were epic gold
I have no recollection whatsoever of how I started watching this show but I know it would randomly come on & I remember not understanding some plot lines bc I was so young but I was so hooked. It’s my childhood 😂 Manny Santos was my childhood crush

A lot of season 1 helped me navigate helping my own daughter w online safety and getting her first period lol it cracks me up to this day, I was on top of the washing machine getting cleaning supplies down for my afternoon chores and my sister gets home from school after me…she runs in and says “Jimmy from degrassi is a rapper named Drake now!!” 😂😂😂
just refreshed my page and did a double take!! so excited! Congrats on 1k!
Thank you so much means a lot 🥲
The writers gave redemption to Peter well before he deserved it. And hooking him up with Emma was a poor story choice. Honestly, this season was where I started to lose my interest in the series.
If Emma was a good friend she would have hated Peter for sharing Manny's nude photo
Derek was one of the most annoying characters ever introduced.
I agree. That dude got a slappable face. For some reason he looks like his breath smells 😂
@@JanJan4Infinity 😂😂
Ooooo right on time! I just settled in to eat my chipotle! Love this series!!!
Can I have ANY side of UA-cam to myself 😡😡😡 😂😂?
@@AmiriHipHop 😂😂😂😂😂 we just have the same taste I guess 😂😂😂 that is too funny!!!!
@@packnetadaija But nah this is getting out of hand. What are you doing watching Degrassi videos? You don't even like this show for real. This is ALL ME 👇🏼😂😂.
@@AmiriHipHop I am a huge degrassi fan! Don’t play with me ! Hahaha it is just so weird! We are just kindred spirits I guess 😂😂
Well I caught the show in grade 9
I think i first caught an episode during the every degrassi ever marathon on The N or teennick. Immediately fell in love and cycled back to the degrassi originals series’ from the 80s. This show gives me so much nostalgia
watched till the end of this video, been binging the degrassi videos you posted! i used to have a degrassi podcast and there's a degrassi shaped hole in my heart! your story of saying people making fun of you in school for making videos made me upset for you but I'm glad you were able to overcome
Thank you so much
I really like when Kevin Smith makes his appearances, truly some of the best episodes
i started watching Degrassi when it was airing on Teen Nick during Claire's generation and i loved it and for the longest time i couldn't find the earlier seasons anywhere to stream but in 2019 i found the whole show on youtube and watched it all and loved it (i even watched degrassi high and junior high and the movie)
I started watching Degrassi when I was 12 or 13. Back in Degrassi Jr High days. It blew my mind. So when I was older and found out it had come back, I gladly watched all the way through.
I’m so glad they didn’t show Emma and Manny purging; they showed it when they tackled anorexia in the OG Degrassi series, and it was super jarring
I love these videos so much. Thank you for making them and posting.
You are so welcome!
Thank you for these vids!! It’s like we’re watching together 😌
Finally! Love your detailed videos man!
3:25:34 that hat was the worst thing that happened to Degrassi, yes worse than the school shooting
I went back to this part of the video and…😵💫🤣😭😭
I always enjoyed how the issues were serious but didn’t glamorize them or even make it “sexy” like RIVERDALE or EUPHORIA lmao.
Manny Santos...my, how youve grown 😂😂
*edit* i like how Miss H said "accidents will happen" when JT and Liberty crashed, it was the title of the episode where Manny also finds out shes pregnant
And Emma was trifling for dating Peter after he did what he did to Manny
Drake still uses that line to 13 year olds
Facts!! Emma was a very shitty friend to Manny, yeah she didn’t get her best friend shot like Spinner did with Jimmy, but still dating a guy that temporarily ruined your best friend’s life?! That’s gotta be fucked up.
Can’t understand why she was a bad friend even before that - just watching those girls talk about her like that
@@maloneaqua simply put, Emma was just selfish. I just hate strong independent women or crap people in general, going through all this and not taking the responsibility to leave and never look back
@@isaiahsturgis5037boils my blood that they downplayed Peter's crimes and continued them all throughout later seasons he deserved to be on lists!
Paige and Alex were endgame. The chemistry was so natural.
I usually binge watch before a review but, I'd much rather just watch these!
1:10:28 Why didnt JT just sew to make money??? Lol
I'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE LAST VIDEO!
Craig is the epitome of if he'll cheat with you he'll cheat on you
I started ocassionally watching degrassi on teennick when i was around 13 years old.
I hated Snake's cheating. It was so mf stupid
It was so out of character for him! Especially the way he was coming at Joey for cheating on Caitlin in School's Out 👀
I’m glad we left seeing Matt as the loser and pdf file that he is.
I started watching Degrassi on the N with my sister when they would have the Every Degrassi Ever marathons. It was a fun, teen show & I was a teen. As I got more into the lessons, the characters & the stories, I learned more about important topics & the world around me.
I will never be okay with the fact that JAY of all the scum of this show, got the hottie manny in the end 😂
LOVE THESE!!! Thank you, very good work!
2:43:55 i also hate the writers gave Emma an ED storyline when Miriam suffered from one in real life
I didn’t know that, that’s fucking straight up evil
I think she’s said it was her sister who passed away from it but yes still not right
@@alexandraethridge2232 both statements are true. She said they made her do it while battling one herself at the time and her sister died from an ED as well.
Do you think they asked her if she was okay with the storyline prior to filming?
@@samirascarlett they didn’t. She’s stated how uncomfortable it made her.
So JT boss is named Mr. McKay judging by his age. I wonder in that is the father of Shane McKay from Degrassi Junior High 🤔
No, just inconsistent writing from the writing department.
@ They officially confirmed that?
Congrats to 1k!!! I’ve been loving this series so much and I normally don’t comment but I gotta show love when it comes to fellow Degrassi fans ❤️❤️ keep up the good work we’re eating this shit up truly 😂
The diehard degrassi fans know what awaits us in season six with a beloved character ☠️☠️☠️
Ugh, they didn't have to do him like that...
I will never for the life of me understand why so many girls were attracted to Craig 😂 He had so many red flags and problems 😂😂
both the actors who play Craig and Peter play in My babysitters a vampire😂
Really? I should go back and watch it. They might be easier to spot now that I've seen Degrassi 😂
2:00:53 "World Peace, a salami sub and a chnace to talk to my good friend Hazey."
"We're not friends." 😂😂😂 Why do I find Jay funny?
Thank you so much for these videos 💖
My pleasure
Many was really having a rough time and Peter was the ultimate slimy villain. Good times 😂
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!! SEATED
I started Degrassi with i think season 10 (in 2013) to improve my english. Now watching your videos to catchup on the earlier seasons i never got around to watch
Omg yesss im so excited ive been waiting for this part ! Awesome 😎
You know manny and never talked about Craig’s bi polar like Ashley
Ready for the reboot in 2030 with JT and Liberty’s baby as the protagonist
Hearing that randomly makes me shudder like the hyenas saying Mufasa in Lion King 😳
the noggin! bro that brings me back
JW?
I enjoy your videos man, keep it up 🙏
Thanks, will do!
Not Joey being 34 🙃
I think he could pass for that age at that time.
love your vids! so stoked for when you get past season 9 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Peter is the WooOoRsT
I really adore thees videos!
2:00:36 degrassi has this thing for acting like a year ago was actually like, half a decade ago 😂 another example: Dean in season 4 telling Paige what happened was a long time ago… sir that happened less than 2 years ago 😭
i never got over what peter did to manny and them trying to redeem him over and over was so annoying
Hooooold on a minute. Rent for that apartment was $750 a month. That guy gave JT EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS??? He was literally holding the first month. If he and Liberty couldn’t put their wallets together for that second month, how much is JT making at that pharmacy? How much money did Liberty win in that spelling bee?
750 a month for rent in Toronto dang that’s cheap compared to what we got. Ie
