@@josemontes9105 I guess I could elaborate slightly. I was 7 when he got the car, he got it just before Christmas 2003, one of the first 2004’s. He would have been 84 I believe when he bought it. He quickly succumbed to Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to drive as of ‘06 - car had 19,000km on it. My grandmother who was in her mid 50’s at the time, bought it and still has it to this day, still looks the same as the first time I saw it during Christmas 2003 when my great grandpa showed the car off to us kids who wanted to see it. I am next to own it, I am 26 now.
Bob Lutz said they "spent a lot of money to make it look that cheap." As in GM actually spent $$$ on the interior, it just doesn't look like it. I think they were going for a modern/ergonomic/high tech vibe to distinguish it from chrome/wood laden older Caddys. But it turned out too chunky and sterile.
Matrix Reloaded was the first premiere of this vehicle, and also the first time Cadillac and really an automaker in general revealed a new car officially through a movie. The Matrix Reloaded was a double edged sword; not only did it reveal the CTS but it also revealed the Escalade EXT.
@@ic1815 oh okay 👍...But no lethal weapon 4 gm debuted the 1999 grand am..and the gmc Sierra for the first time predating the matrix by a year 😉...in 1998
I didn’t know the normal CTS was once optioned with a manual! That said 3.2 liters and only 220 hp?? Thats so little. The 3.5 VQ of this year made 250 in a transverse package
This is why GM should never let the critics talk them into compromising, Cadillac hotrods really! Keep in mind,is been the dead folks that have kept Cadillac on the market for more than 100 years, this is not Cadillac, don't like it, the hell with it.
Every young kid would love a 3.2 L manual as a first car. Too bad it's so rare. I have one. Low miles and in tip top shape. My son loves the attention he gets in it.
@@RetroCarReviews I havent seen a cTS on the streets in over a decade .... Lol yet I see 90/00 Lexus quite often , POS quality GM. Go to a junkyard you'll see GM & ford & Chrysler take 80% of the yard.
Family bought one brand new in 04 and we still have it. Makes me wonder if my great grandpa watched these reviews and that’s what helped him decide…
Wow, great grandpa. I remember watching these shows as a kid. I must be old

@@DRsx4 not everyone is poor like you
This was my favorite CTS, despite the hard plasticky interior.

Such a shame there are no exterior trunk release

To be fair, in 04 the 3.6 came with 255HP. Then the 05-07s could come with a 6-Speed manual!
Beautiful this Cadillac CTS
I have the 2003 3.2 L manual. All you need to do is take the traction control off and you can drift all day in it. It's fun. It's my favorite car.
Same engine as in the european Opel/Vauxhall Omega! But, boy...the CTS´ interior looked so crappy compared to its competitors.
Im sold
