- This short news video comments on the very recent show of force by the Chinese navy, when it put into service three big naval vessels, all at the same ceremony, in a single day. A 09-IV submarine, a 055 destroyer and a 075 LHD ship were all commissioned. The video goes a bit into detail on each of the three, and puts the event into a broader context.

@linkzable The gap between carrier-based aircraft is very large. CN has only the fourth generation. And the United States has the fifth generation
@@user-um4kj7lo6y it'd be amazing if they could pull that off with no actual experience building real carriers outside of the hot mess that is a Kuznetsov but the gap in fighter capability is severely underestimated. I personally tried digging through any and all videos of carrier based J-15 launches I could find... they've never videoed a J-15 taking off with a proper weapons payload. And the amount of fuel it takes to get off the deck of a carrier in a ground based air superiority fight must be staggering. Chinese carrier Aviation is not a threat to anyone until they develope a proper carrier fighter or redesign the J-15 with a catapult hook and design a maintainable catapult.

If they don't develop an equivalent then the US and its allies will have an advantage in a war because they can fly fast and stealthy jets from LPHs and improvised airfields which will make it very hard to ground their airforce by destroying airstrips, something they've already got an advantage in because it's basically China vs the world which means the allies have a lot of bases. On the other hand, it's clear that the F-35B was an absolute nightmare to get working and that Chinese aerospace finds it hard to make an F-18 knockoff, let alone an F-35B. China's J-15 is a Su-33 knock-off and is called the 'flopping fish' by the Chinese press for its unreliability. This doesn't bode well for a Chinese stealthy, supersonic and STOVL fighter which is what it needs to counter the F-35B. And without it China would run out of airfields and carriers to fly fast jets from in a war, and that means it would lose air superiority. At that point, it's lost the war. And losing a war is not a good thing for the CCP which needs to project an aura of invincibility lest the Chinese people start to challenge its rule domestically. Expect to see more 'mass incidents' and more mid-level CCP thugs going the way the Securitate did in the Romanian Revolution. Come to think of it, that didn't work out too well for Ceaucescu either.

The war can turn very ugly, both sides might blast their enemy navigation satellites in space into pieces and put them out of service so that the fighter jets/bombers have less precision in targeting enemy position on the ground.

So, the U.S. Navy will be like the Japanese in the Pacific WWII, the British in Atlantic at the same time, the Italians in the Mediterranean?. Lots of ships to deploy but the logistics, some outdated technology, and costs to replace or carry out an actual war will not keep up with the needs of an actual conflict maybe. We were able to do that in the Pacific in WWII only after Germany surrendered really.

It has built 240,000 ton container ships , 220,000 ton cruise ships for customers worldwide . A 240,000 ton container ship would be completed inside 14 months.

The US isn't taking a nap, Australia isn't taking a nap, and non NATO allied like Japan isn't taking a nap. The Chinese are building impressive things very fast, but thats only to fill the massive gap it has with the US navy and air force.
The US navy is still the undisputed navy in the world, and its building new ships on a massive scale too on top of a already very robust fleet. All this is just posturing by china to show off it's build up, but geopolitically china is still blocked up by layers of us allies and assets.

That would be more expensive and time consuming than designing and building an entirely new BB class. The Iowas would need a complete overhaul, a new propulsion system, and God only knows what else to be relevant surface combattants on a modern battlefield. They'd have to strip them down to bare hulls just to replace the boilers and turbines and then put the ship back together. Better to start with a whole new hull and build the ship to purpose from the start.

@@VisibilityFoggy that was in the 80s. They're much older now and went through another decade of wear and tear in the 80s-90s. Also the first time they were in the Navy Reserve. Now they're museums and have had many of their primary systems deactivated.
