I appreciate your sharing of the cost. Thanks for the video!
Bob's got a he-man belly if he maneuvered the trans with it LOL. Making the Torino a better cruiser - 👍
lol, I never thought of my belly like that before but I’m gonna roll with it!💪😎🤙
I know this video is a year old. But next time you see a supercharger sitting on a engine like that. I would definitely take that with you. I would definitely buy it
Awesome video. I am starting to restore my 77 f150 converting from a 4 speed manual to the AOD. Looking forward to part 2.
Right on! I’m getting ready to start the 2nd part, removing and test fitting the trans!
Gotta get‘em while you can!
Nice find!
Hey there Omar, that was an awesome 👍😎 score at the yard..!!! Thanks for sharing all your research on the AOD specs and applications by year. I was lucky enough myself to be able to grab a used, rebuild AOD , out of a 93 F150 w/302. Only 7k miles on the rebuild!!! I paid $700 on Facebook marketplace this spring. I've read earlier 3.8 AOD's have 2 less clutches in in their packs. Though can be added, if your doing a V8 swap I've read. I've already subscribed brother. And buddy is a boss, grabbing the neutral safety harness, alk of the way back into the car !!! As well as the flex plate, mini starter and all. God speed brother!!!!
Very nice! I was searching marketplace for a while and they don’t come up here in California so I decided to just get one from the yard. Haha yes bob is a master mechanic, we got a ton of stuff ready for this swap!
I meant your friend Bob, was a boss, for grabbing all that ginger bread to go along with it...
That trans must have been a warranty replacement. Probably has almost 0 miles on it. Great score. I look forward to the install . Great stuff.
Will be installing it soon! Hoping it’s new!
Instead of crawling under the vehicle, check the VIN tag on the B pillar. AOD is TRANS TYPE "T". AODE is listed as TRANS TYPE "E"
whats the diff in the aod and aode?
@@jondavis3582 AOD is hydraulic controlled aodE is electronically controlled like the later 4r70 transmissions
Hey Omar, Good to see you back on YT. That was a good haul, at a perfect price. And you brought the right guy! So are we going to see the trans swap on the Torino?
Yes will be installed and on the road again!
Nice car
Nice!
Let me ask you something... I have a issue with my car (91 Mustang) that i haven't been able to figure out and i have wondered if maybe the VSS sensor is bad,its a AOD car, sensor is 32 years old, speedometer is not jumping more than normal for a old mechanical unit.
If you ever have been on a commercial flight, when you land and they turn the reversers on, thats what it feels like when coming to a stop, its like the engine and transmission are not in sink and at the risk of sounding combative, lol, its not the transmission thats the problem, thing shifts like silk and i have always taken super good care of it, many years ago it was doing that and one day it just went away and now its back,i think it has something to do with the idle so i was thinking maybe it could be the VSS sensor? any opinions?
Fluid is nice and red, nothing burnt and the TV cable is neutral,no slack,no tension, thank you for your time!
I have one to sell up in southeast Minnesota
Hey bro I got a question I have a 1994 mustang gt auto trans can a 1994 Lincoln town car transmission aode fit
I have the Cruise -O - Matic in my 64 Galaxie. People have told me I should dump it for the AOD - what do you think?
If your trans is in good shape I’d leave it, but an aod would be a very nice upgrade. I plan on taking the Torino on long trips so this would be perfect
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie I'm picking up a donor AOD tomorrow for a swap into a '69 Ford Econoline.. Won't know how to act with an extra gear.!! That ol c4 aint the best for gas mileage on long trips thats for sure. Lotta work ahead of us 💪
I just completed the swap, it’s An amazing upgrade from the C4. My Torino is a solid cruiser now
Odo gears break on common issue I wouldn't trust those
Is it the same trans as a F150?
The 92-93 are supposed to be the best because they have a 2 inch wide overdrive band
He put a list at 1:07 of all the cars that came with this transmission. Keep in mind that these cars also came with a manual transmission so be sure to verify that it’s an automatic.
You forgot pickups
Hate these places!!! They buy these cars for pennies and tax the hell out of parts you take out!! It got to the point I’ll just buy a whole vehicle that people are junking and take all the parts out and then sell them to these sharks!!!
LKQ is a ripoff and always has been, many otther venues that sell common variety used stuff for a lot less without nickel and diming.
