I remember the In Flames concert with Lamb of God and these guys opened. Who care who the main event was this band was FIRE 1000% Still rips years later
@@me4tgr1ndr id is dope to man... hey whatever you feel feel that shit proudly. Go check all things set aside its nearly a full length veil lf maya released before a common mans... it doesnt chug and grrove like the rest but it still moves man... and there is a cpl they remade for a common mans collapse that the origibals are just as good.
@@me4tgr1ndr id is dope too. Feel what you feel proudly man. All of you should remember the part from 0:46 to 1:02 because it has perfect lenght and rythm for resuscitation (snare). 30 compressions, than 2 breaths. VoM may save somebody's life ;)
You have full autonomy to found a band of your own and produce the EXACT sound you're looking for. Why cry about a decision that grown ass men made, without you in mind.
Master Asia not many bands can create masterpieces like this album, just like no other band will be able to replicate the art that opeth has made, i think people just get disappointed when artists change their style dramatically because the same nostalgia cant be created for them with the new content. Its sad but the reality is that people change and so does the art they make. I hope OP finds an album that makes him feel like this did the first time he heard it.
00:36 i feel like im about to run down a fuckin hallway made of blood covered steel while holding a pulse rifle annihilating necromorphs along the way 👿
Try Fallujah, just started listening to them a while ago and they are perfect if you like Deathmetal frosted with Black metal vocals, and sprinkled with a little deathcore.
perfect album does some1 know any similar bands to veil? i went through all of the bands that are similar to them in last.fm, didn't find any good ones except CoC and BoO
I respect your opinion, but as you say you can respect one individually, and I think that it should be the same for the albums. I like CMC and id for what they are, but I also enjoy the more melodic and polyrhytmic style of Eclipse. They are not written in the style of the other two albums, but since they want to evolve as a band I understand the change they made and like that. However, everyone can enjoy what they want, yet I'd like the effort they put into Eclipse to be respected,
And guess what now, he's been working with Volumes now and I've been hearing some previewish type of stuff on his Vine. It's okay, but like I said I'd prefer it if he just stuck to doing things on his own like he's done in the past or work with someone like Keene like he has on the last two albums id and The Common Man's Collapse.
I absolutely agree, The Common Man's Collapse and [id] are amazing, they were very original, but Eclipse sounds too generic, you can distinguish a great difference between Misha's writing style and Marc's writing style and in my opinion they don't sound as good together as they do individually
This is a big statement, I'm not fond of core metal AT ALL. but these guys are something else. They're great. They've actually got talent, their breakdowns are complex etc.
You are gonna love their albums eclipse ,the common mans collapse, all things set aside and this one (id)...the new albums are singing and power metal it seems with some prog
Chase Dixon Most of their songs tie together but now they effing SUCK sound hella soft and emo-depressed(relationship break-up) with the last album but i miss days of this album or eclipse (punisher, numerical scheme, enter my dreams) skull smashing soul vaporizing brutality..!
By better I mean bands that make music that sounds better to my ears. I agree, Between The Buried And Me for instance is better, but I didn't think there are better bands when I wrote that comment.
After all these years, anyone else obsessed with the little interlude / overplay at 0:35 between the L lead guitar and the drums? Fucking magnificent.
Sounds like its going to the next song
No i absolutely feel it. Goes so hard even all these year later
This!
one of the greatest grooves/2 steps ever! been obsessed with it since i was 16 lol ( now 32)
ID holds up as one of the best metal albums from this era easily. Sumerian really didn't miss at allllllll during these years.
2024 anyone?
Yesssssssssssss
Still blasting it. Let's go
2027 bro!
Yessirrrrr
Yo!
I just love how djent music videos are not filled with negative comments towards the band or the fans.
Every video in this site should be like this.
come back brandon
im here
Thanks :))
I like brandon a lot but i also like lucas
New vom is trash, i feel you with that
no
I remember the In Flames concert with Lamb of God and these guys opened. Who care who the main event was this band was FIRE 1000% Still rips years later
I was never a big fan of Veil Of Maya, but I think this song just made me one!
18FrozenAngels yeah their old albums are my fav. deathcore albums all time. i just hate their new albums like the new one its sucks hard.
Betts Reed deathcore...
?
MaDaFaKaEGT They are deathcore, moron.
They said it themselves they aren't deathcore, moron. Nice try buddy.
i miss brandon
This older stuff is so much better than the new veil of maya
I just consider the first three albums the real veil of maya and the ones after that (which I still like alot) a different band lol
All things set aside and a commons man collapse i hold dearest to my heart and soul but this song speaks to me as well.
@@Juicelie fuck! First 4 albums I meant. Or is all things set as aside an ep? I love common man's collapse, id, and eclipse

The last breakdown will never get old
Best Song on the Album imo
+Jack Heet (ddrum1090) That or the Higler.
Tonight's the night
at least we got these old good songs :)
1000%!
The starting just melted me
This band is completely new to me. I love what I'm hearing so far.
Marc's face is priceless every time he plays the into of this song.
Saw these guys live last night at Downtown for my first show... Best night ever.
i need an update
Beautiful
Is this song a reference to Dexter?
Mark Rabinowitz yeps
Mark Rabinowitz nope.
Yes.
They have another one on their 2011 album called "Glass Slide."
would of been dope if they had feature this song in one the episodes
My favorite show... oh my god this is so good.
That intro kills me everytime
Still here 2021
thank you good sir.
The breakdowns in Namaste are written in key to the mythic numbers from lost, 4-8-15-16-23-42
Such a creative, heavy hitting masterpiece 🔥
Glad you like them man. They need a lot more recognition than they have just like VoM needs, because they are pretty damn incredible.
Looking back at what they used to be and what they became only makes me wish they never parted ways with Brandon 😢
One of the most epic vocal starting ever!
"I AM IN CONTROOOOOOOOOL" Love it! :D
This is the best song at the moment
All of you should remember the part from 0:46 to 1:02 because it has perfect lenght and rythm for resuscitation (snare). 30 compressions, than 2 breaths.
VoM may save somebody's life ;)
One of the heaviest ever y'all
yes it does, so you can say that you listen to that genre and you're better than other people
trust me I understand :)
the guy in the song is basically someone who's done and about to do bad things but really is a good man
02:00 "I have the guitar!"
Put this song in repeat.
RIP real Veil of Maya

@Antagonists wow such white knighting. Veil copied Periphery and suck now. Nothing will ever come close to ID or Common Mans Collapse
Naoto-Icarus The Antagonists you need to chill out. Don’t get so mad lol
Anyways
00:36 i feel like im about to run down a fuckin hallway made of blood covered steel while holding a pulse rifle annihilating necromorphs along the way 👿
Try Fallujah, just started listening to them a while ago and they are perfect if you like Deathmetal frosted with Black metal vocals, and sprinkled with a little deathcore.
They are in the same level of awesomeness as BoO and VoM
those harmonics !!
i know them already man they are good
cant help but think of showtimes Dexter when I see this song title lol
That would be because it is :)
this is THE music to slay gods to.
hey hey bro. i hate the nwo. :/
edgy
perfect album
does some1 know any similar bands to veil?
i went through all of the bands that are similar to them in last.fm, didn't find any good ones except CoC and BoO
Way late, but hope ya found AtB and WtR
Best Deathcore band.
Come for the opening riff, stay for 2:34
Dexter reference! I love it!
It's from devil. The movie
Banger 😎
Indeed dude
Straight up.
namaste from lost.
this is so cool
this is what im looking for
Actually Brandon writes after tv and games and real world events... marc said that in a interview
2021
Um holy fuck this band is beast, im glad they're in the summer slaughter tour, i will be watching them live

mucho fuego
Muy de fuego.
Don't forget that awesome bass player ! :D

If that's what you classify as better, yes.
Check out the band fallujah, especially their ep nomadic.
in an interview they used dexter as an example for what the song means
What the TV Dexter, you will shit your pants, it is so good.
Well, I could give you a list of my favorite bands, but you wouldn't necessarily think they're better than VoM. :P
they have a shirt with dexter's face on it with lyrics from this song in the back so its pretty straightforward ahahah
good shit, good effing tunes....
Raising The Veil
Its about Dexter.
This is a big statement, I'm not fond of core metal AT ALL. but these guys are something else. They're great. They've actually got talent, their breakdowns are complex etc.

Thy Art Is Murder - Vile Creations???
Woah.
This came out first.... Sooo yeah, damn.
Sumerian would like to see feedback of the song and artist
BART WILLIAMS HAS ENTERED YOUR REALM!!!!!!!!
They like TV, Dark Passenger from Dexter, Winter is Coming Soon from Game of Thrones, I'm probably missing a few too
...that old "still kill" factor.
I AM IN CONTROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
like heavier or more technical?
i know, i didnt watch dexter, all i know is that he is a killer but i guess he's a normal man overall
If you like that and you don't know of The Contortionist, check them out.
It's based off Dexter, which is a great show.
@techyfings Pretty redundant to put your bands whole album on youtube lol.
oh it matters
"I LOVE BACON STRIPS!!!!!!!!"
2:08 is virtually Perpetual Black Second's riff. That saddens me.
Chase Dixon Most of their songs tie together but now they effing SUCK sound hella soft and emo-depressed(relationship break-up) with the last album but i miss days of this album or eclipse (punisher, numerical scheme, enter my dreams) skull smashing soul vaporizing brutality..!
Fuck dude, wish he'd come back
2020 🤘🥺
@DeadlyNinjaDrummer Sumerian, all of us aren't unappreciative bastards with no life. I don't have to load my cd's all the time and it's free radio.
i would honestly give money to the one who'll introduce me to a better band than Veil Of Maya
black dahlia murder. wheres my money.
0:26 this part still fucks with me
Posting your tour dates like it's even the same band
MOMMY?!
try with cytotoxin...but they're like death...i don't know if you will like them
The Harvest Wombs is their strongest
Play this with the Dexter intro muted.
By better I mean bands that make music that sounds better to my ears. I agree, Between The Buried And Me for instance is better, but I didn't think there are better bands when I wrote that comment.
I thought songs like "The Glass Slide" and "Punisher" were pretty damn good. The new album isn't that bad, and Marc was still the primary writer.
In terms of everything.
2:07 Hits so fkn hard!
i thought death metal would have changed slightly since Napalm Death, circa 1994. Apparently it hasn't
my god, i head banged my fucking neck off to this. RAWR!!!!!! UUAAAAAAGHGHGHAGAGAGG
