Let’s go hawks! 11 wins and a break out game for Marco in the Citrus Bowl is a GREAT season.
We have 10 wins, but who did we beat? Did we beat a team that would have finished above .500 in any other conference? No. We played 2 teams that were above mediocre and we lost by a combined score of 58-0. Unfortunately that may be the final score of the Bowl game.

No. Deacon Donuts is more of an NAIA level QB. Maybe not even that. People who feel sorry for athletes like Deacon, need to realize that playing football is not a RIGHT, it is a privilege, and if you aren't good enough, find something else to do. As a young man, I dreamed of MLB, but, dang, I was not good enough.

How is the future bright for Iowa with no B1G West? The best/most optimistic prediction is that the Hawkeyes will be 7th in the conference.
Marco will not start the Bowl game for the same reason there will not be an open competition at QB next year, it's Kirk's greatest flaw...he values loyalty over performance. Once you are declared the starter your performance is irrelevant. Once you've been hired, your job performance is irrelevant.
I gave Marco an Uber ride before the season started. He did not seem confident then. Hopefully he gained more confidence since. Nice guy though and good head on his shoulders
I am a big fan of Cory. This discussion however is kinda silly. Wishful thinking I guess. We all know that Cade is baked into the Iowa cake. Unfortunately. Deacon is also QB2 next year and will take over when Cade gets injured again, not if, but WHEN. What has Kirk ever said that changes any of that? They should take whatever NIL money Cade is getting and give it to Cooper, so he will stay another year. Kirk has no capacity to admit mistakes. His recent interview was all about how HIS offense compliments HIS defense and that is not going to change. Kinda laying down cover for his beloved son. I guess you can say Brian's offense complimented the defense by letting the defense get lots of practice.
Marco better play in bowl game or he will be leaving also and I would not blame him ferentz take your head out of the sand
All these comments re Coach Kirk Ferentz - I would guess he knows more about football than all the connectors. His record speaks for itself. That is your opinion and his opinion, just like these are our opinions. I'm guessing a former player might be slightly biased toward the coach who gave him the opportunity as a D1 athlete. Nevertheless, From the Hawkeye of the Storm is built on authentic, honest evaluation. Of course, there are plenty of other shows out there that may paint the picture that fans want to hear. BTW, Coach Don Patterson coached QBs, and he'll be back on the show on Wednesday if you would like his input.
recruiting on average according to a top power 5 QB is 6 4" and 220 lbs and a 4.5 to 4.6 speed.. So Marco is sort of short but he may be the fastest QB we have had in a long time, Ive been digging lol. Brad Banks 6. 0 204 and 4.67. Ricky Stanzi 6 4" 228 and 4.93. Drew Tate 6 0 192 and 4.9. Nate Stanley 6 5" 215 and 4.8. Chuck Long 6 4" 212 and Chuck don't have to run. The videos i saw he was king of clunky on drop backs, i saw some hairy high school lobs a dump off pass and like 4 runs . The video of Marco is funky, looking at the center instead of the field of play. Should we receiving a beat down or giving the beat down , i wouldn't mind seeing him play .All i can say is McNamara better pan out next year because he is costing us Qbs in the transfer portal. So far sparklers haven't exactly been shooting out is rear end yet. If MAC takes a loss and we aren't 4 and 0 going in week 5 vs OSU and those opponents are Illinois State, Iowa State, Troy all home games and a the 4th game is the revenge game at Minnesota . We cant lose any of those first 4. Is it possible to believe someone can do it but not have faith lol. Marco is not anywhere near ready to start. All the Deacon hate, lol he didnt have an O line , his wide outs sucked, brown has promise, tight end was a new guy he did ok, but he isnt Eric All is he and we have a OC that just plain stunk and happened to be the QB coach as well...some times you have to think it thru. Hill comes out and drops 250 and a win what will you say then? I hope that actual players dont actually read all these comments, if you were to say this stuff to one of them about Hill , they would probably tell you go phuck yourself, the guys trying.
I agree that Marco should get some playing time in the bowl game. Deacon needs to lost about 30 pounds in the off season if for whatever reason he ends up as the back up qb.. he was horrible last year, no other way to put it and i don't understand why KF was so stubborn to stick with him. yes we won the games but they did in spite of Hill
No QB switch in bowl game He might as well transfer now Kirk wont change his philosophy
Well whenever we have a good prospect of an Iowa core back we either ruin their quarterback or they don't play them they as in being the coaching staff
Will Brian get a pop warner job? His emotional outbursts really don't translate to coaching success. Maybe a junior high assistant for 8th graders
Kirk never plays a freshman because of the large playbook, slice it down to what wins and let him go.

KF is stubborn as an old mule,he will do it his way are lose every game.Wish he would have hit the trail behind his son.
Cade is the starter for 2024 and the backup QB is up in the air. Why not give Marco the opportunity? Unfortunately what we are just about guaranteed to hear is, Marcos not ready. The coaches watch practice and Deacon is way ahead of Marcos. (Meanwhile Deacon is out on the field stinking up the place)
Marco will transfer because Kirk won't let him see the field.

CADE is the qb that Kf wants Kf only wants a qb that does not run and not alot of passing Kf is so worried about losing the ball if Kf is not playing his kb and the other qb loses the ball he will be benched because not enough playing time in the last 5 years what has Kf done to improve the offense
