"Deacon has done a lot of good things this year" -this is just patently FALSE AND UNTRUE!! Deacon has literally done nothing good at the quarterback position but rather the complete opposite of having zero presence in the pocket, throwing MULTIPLE brainless interceptions which costs us points (see today when he threw a pick inside the 5 yard line), fumble problems and overthrowing or completely missing receivers. Just a straight up lie to say he has done good things, this is coaching malpractice on display in front of entire country to continue playing him. Fucking joke. Also, was Kirk seriously about to cry when talking about Deacon's "Leadership"......you gotta be kidding me.
It’s been 20+ years, at this point I’m tired of it. Kirk has done well but it’s the same thing every year. Hear how they’re going to change on offense, watch week 1, realize nothing has changed. Then somehow win 7-10 games vs weak competition then get trounced by a superior team and don’t even look competitive. This team is further from competing for anything major like a Big 10 title than the record shows. Kirk has done a terrible job self reflecting and adjusting his coaching style or his mindset because he can get away with winning 7-9 games and not feel pressure. Ask all championship caliber coaches and they’re always self evaluating and changing looking at where the game is going. Kirk is an old man yelling at clouds and now the program is fucking meme about how terrible they are on offense.
What good things were we doing? Marco coming in was the only bright spot on offense and made Kirk look like a boob as if Hill was the best chance to win. They put a young man out there who wasn't even remotely ready for big games and scarified him to the crowd.
Does he seem like a coach who cares about being last in offense in the whole country two years in a row? Nope, because he's had no boss (Barta) to report to for years, has been getting paid millions for years, has had no accountability for years. That combination allows one not to have to live in reality. KF obviously doesn't live in reality and that's how he can be ok with having NO offense at all and be the embarrassment of the country.
Sorry, last one from me. I've known what KF really is for over ten years now. If his behavior over the past few years is not enough for even the most die hard KF guy to know what he really is...........well, I'm sorry.
Pathetic excuse of a performance from Iowa. As much as I respect and admire Coach Kirk Ferentz, the way he has handled the offense not only this year but last couple is beyond atrocious. This was embarrassing to watch and I feel so sorry for the players, our coaches continue to handicap them by putting Deacon Hill out there week after week. Kick rocks Brian, you were a terrible coordinator.

I do think he needs to retire. He's 68 and he really looks tired. I would rather see him go out on top then being forced to retire or fired
It's not just actual age but more mentality. He seems even more set in his ways then usual.
