Thanks for the reporting! Just was commenting to my dad about how it was Iowa State in the news for something bad for a change and that didn't last long before we were back to being a headline on ESPN. Nepotism, racism allegations, and now gambling, I wish we could stop giving all of my Badger and Gopher neighbors so much material to work with when they see me outside.
IMO, The University of Iowa betting culture with athletes started ~25 yrs(?) ago when Coralville got a casino. Add in online betting and betting on college sports, I am sure it's been going on many places. It used to be that bar hopping was the only thing UI athletes were interested in, now it's gotten even more problematic with the ease of betting to fuel more temptations and addictions. So many Iowa athletes are from one stop light, one gas station/bar small towns, where drinking and gambling culture may not be that surprising IMO.
Man I hope Kurkz ferduntz son fattymcfatFat, and he whose name rhymes with farta are all 3 in the know or involved and they are all fired and shown the door
Extending this to football is the only way brian having a job still makes any sense. That includes the way his bonuses in his contract are set up. What is Iowa's under over again this year?
I have my daughter shooting a jump shot at 5 her favorite player is angel Reese which she sent a message to and it broke her little heart when she didn't respond
This is not good. I'm especially worried about the implications to the basketball team. You have very few players on the roster as it is. You lose a key player for half a season and yikes!
Who cares in less one of those kids betted on a game they played in who really cares what next r u going to stop them from buying a scratch off tickets.
@@leroywatermelon4025 I still don't care as long as they're not betting on the games that they're in or necessarily betting on the teams there playing for then who cares.
I talked to one of the pitchers on the team and he said that there is nothing to worry about and it’s already resolved and the rest will be too I also got some inside info on the football team I’d love to talk about

We all wish this could be tied to Brian ferentz as the ring leader.
Unfortunately that is Fantasy land.
Brian looks like an addict, as if he's constantly digging himself out of a hole with his play calling
How does this effect wrestle programs? No NCAAs? Loss of Scholarships? Expulsions? I want to know who, how much, and how often
Everyone thinking: I hope Brian did it 🤣👏🏻 ...
I just commented that lol
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 EXACTLY!!!!!
They just give him a raise to bad Bobby stoops wasn't coach he would clean house
If we could only be that lucky.
I wonder what Chapter 2 will bring to all of this. Thanks Gentlemen.
Did the athletic director know?

Your daughter should consider more worthly student/athletes to look up to. Reese is complete trash.
Iowa will get a punishment by 2053
That means they have been sitting back and seeing who else is going to bet. Instead of stopping it all and nipping all this in the butt.
Bud
Now Cooper DeJean’s fake injury vs. Nebraska makes soooo much sense.
You're just spreading misinformation. No truth in this at all.

Betting scandal?

It's a little more than that. They can't get on the sport at all. This is about underage betting. Big no no.

"TRUST ME BRO"
If they are betting on games they have control over then its a problem. If not, seriously, who gives a f#ck
I know for most athletes, the goal is to graduate and go PRO. Apparently now at Iowa, you get to graduate when you go FEDERAL…
I hope they shut down iowa football there's always consequences
