If you add the mod VikingTek- Compact Reactor and Grav Drives mod then all the reactors and grav drives will be the same shape and size as the Odin 3050-C Shield Generator.
You will be able to fill in all the reactor and grav drive spots with habs then be able to place the reactors and grav drives on top of your ships or inside of things and they will not cip into your habs.
