Back in 2005 when I was in the US Navy, I had the privilege of visiting the Seychelles. We anchored just off the coast near Victoria and we were taken ashore by local boaters. Most of us came with zero knowledge of the country and didnt know what to expect - but by the time we left a week later, we didnt want to leave. I've always wanted to make it back and explore the other islands. It was the best week of my life. The most beautiful place on earth.

I have been to Seychelles 3 times but I would normally stay in Praslin for 3/4 nights and do a day trip to La Digue from there and then I will stay in Mahe for 3/4 nights before flying back home. I did visit the Silhouette island as well. I agree that Mahe has a lot to offer and it is definitely wise to rent a car in Mahe and Praslin to get around the islands. You either cycle or walk around La Digue. The ferry ride from Praslin to La Digue is 15 to 20 minutes which is one reason why I stay in Praslin first before I stay in Mahe. Boat trips from Mahe to Praslin/La Digue is long and very bumpy causing many people being sick so I would avoid doing that. When I do arrive at Mahe Airport, I always take a flight from Mahe to Praslin which is a very short flight and it isn't that expensive, then I take the flight back from Praslin to Mahe and stay a few nights there before I head back home

What kind of plane do you take from Mahe to Praslin?
@@anaromalacorona5594 It is a relatively small plane with not many people via Air Seychelles - it takes 15 to 20 minutes but the ocean views are spectacular from above
Hi Brothersman, I want to get your advice for the Interferry (Cat Rose) between Praslin and La Digue, do I ever need to book tickets upfront? or I can always show up on the spot on the day itself to get the ticket? thank you so much in advance!
@@fengxu1130 In some ways, It is better to show up on the spot because it does depend on the weather. But booking tickets beforehand in generally a better option because you are more or less guaranteed a place reserved.

We went their with the catamaran, but weren’t allowed to go on land due to Covid rules 😭

It’s a good company, they have the best boats and are good managed. Can absolutely recommend them.
There is also Coco charter, which I heard have also good boats, but poor maintained.
Unfortunately, I have no idea about their minimum booking length policies.
My tip: the problem is that the bookings are managed outside of the Seychelles, but they have all offices in the marina in Victoria (Eden Island), try to get in touch with the locals in the marina, they are very kind, helpful and can maybe help 😉

Thank you for this video! We're going next week, for 11 days in the 3 mains islands (La Digue, Praslin and Mahe). I'm a little sad to know that the vallee de Mai and the preserved area in Praslin are closed due to covid. When was your trip there? Maybe it's open now? Also the trails for riking that you recommanded in the few islands, are they beginner-friendly? (Cause I don't have a great stamina hahah)

Thank you so much for that Video. Can you help me? I need an advice from you, where I can stay for several weeks? Hotels are to expensive for me. It´s not so easy to find a nice and cozy apartment that I like. Thank you.
There are many apartments you can rent. I would recommend to book an accommodation only for the first days and then rent rent a car for the first days and drive around and stop wherever you see a tourist apartment and speak with the locals. The locals are very nice and supportive.
I don’t know your exact budget, but we stayed also here and it was lovely and the owner is very nice. Just give them a call and ask about their long term rental rates ;)

@@SecretTravelGuide Danke!☺️ Wir werden zuerst die Hauptinsel erkunden und dann Praslin und La Digue. Eventuell machen wir noch Tagesausflüge auf kleinere Inseln. Aber zuerst müssen wir noch auf den negativen PCR Test hoffen (trotz Impfung) sonst fällt die ganze Reise ins Wasser :(
