Miss building models. Did for many, many years. Seeing this re-inspires me to resume. Tamiya kits are what I started on on early 70z. They were very intricate and made it more fun(to me anyway) ...Thank You tutorial Sir.
Something so satisfying about watching a model be built
As always Andy, a masterclass in building and video making, thanks for sharing.
I really love the Music you add to almost every Video. Its the second reason why i watch those Videos.Keep up the good work !
Another great video Andy! Maybe I should start listening to this kind of music it's relaxing instead of Live/Dead
One of my favorite kits from Tamiya.Nice video.
neat kit! I am very interestd in seeing the weathering of the kit, really nice...plus, the "Swan Lake" in the background is very appropo!!!
Hi Andy keep up the good work

+peter vernon Thats great That's why I do them to get modelers building thanks for watching
Great work !!
Love this classical song when your built model kits. ;)
Very good step by step vid. I think this will give returning or new modellers the impetuous to pick up a kit and and and give it a go
+Armour Empire It is nice and the gun is impressive in that scale, Thanks for watching
Tamiya has a motorized version of the Mark I Male tank. Any chance you could do that next? I have one being shipped and I could use the help from one of your videos.
Nice Build, Like your vids. Can't wait for part 2.
Outstanding video and presentation.
Another great video Andy. I've wanted to build this one, but so far have been put off by the thought of doing the interior. I may well get my hands on one on the basis of this vid!
Many thanks
+lazaglider Iwas surprised the interior went together fast and no fit problems , a few small pieces to power through , But I would recommend this kit, Lets face it, its a Tamiya so you know it's going to be good , Thanks for watching
I loved when you cut the part where everything fell in the back then you just cut it makes laugh
I am the same with the road wheels, just get them done!! Nice job
Great tshirt man, love van Halen😁👍🏻And Strauss music..cheers from Sweden!🇸🇪
really awesome build Andy, really like your site, i have that kit, it's good to see kits built, just to see if there's any hick ups, and there's some, now I have a video to look at. just to let you know I'm ssssooo jealous, a hobby shop and get to build anytime you want, freaken awesome.

Comprehensive and amazing work as usual :)
+Benedict Kang Thank you
Great job again Andy! I have a question for anyone. I recently purchased a very nice airbrush (Badger Patriot) but I'm having a problem with my paint drying quickly in the tip of the brush and making it splatter. I've heard that Vallejo paints dry quicker so I may start using my tamiya paints. Andy if possible could you maybe do a short simple video with a few airbrush tips on using and cleaning or maybe just touch on it in next video. Any help will be appreciated.
Great job cheers from Greece!
+Κωστας The Greek THANK YOU
..Awesome Andy.!
Andy, do you have to clean before every time you changed different colors for your airbrush
Nice build Andy, great job as usual. But hear me out. You should really do more Star Wars and more aircraft related models. It would show off more of your collection
+Dimitri Molovik Star wars yes if I can get more easily i plan on doing the dragon ATAT when it come out and the bandai star destroyer would be great .
Maybe some more cars and artillery some sci fi ships
Somewhere there’s a country club pool full of caddies doing synchronized swimming to the building of the running gear.
I tried building the Dragon version of this kit, absolute disaster! so many fiddly parts, couldn't get the paint scheme right! gave up in the end...
I got that kit for $70 dollars Canadian a while back and I really screwed up on it while painting and now I just am putting it in a tub of thinner so I can re-paint it with a winter wash. But I don't know if I should use the figures or not what do you think and thanks @Andy's hobby headquarters the kit looks awesome
+glen-ross mullen I would try them out.
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters thanks and those comments asking about your air brush was like 90% me lol
no problem I Thought I would take a second and show everyone .
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters in happy you did:)
This is what I call satisfying! not some silly Fidget Spinner
Покраска модели на высоте , очень эффектно , а вот сама работа менее аккуратна к сожалению , на мой взгляд процесс сборки должен быть качественнее ;) И всё таки это лайк ) Спасибо за урок ...
When will you do a vid on a build of a modern tank? Merkava, Leopard, or Abrams
fun fact: Nashorn means "rhinoceros" in German. good build andy
it also pronounced Nas-horn
Let me guess, literally "nose horn"?
yes
Gregor Cleganes Rabid Pug amen
Hello Andy
I've been modeling for about 8 months and I finally want to purchase my first airbrush. I was wondering what you think I should get to start me off in learning to airbrush. Any reply would be greatly appreciated, love your videos keep up the great work!
Looks great andy, will you be doing the crew for this? some guides on figure painting would be appreciated.....cheers!
+WhiteLine Fever yes I am going to attempt to do the crew and weather it, Modelcon is keeping me really busy, but its this Saturday , so after that I will be free to build some more. Plus I will have a video of all the cool models that show up to my show.I too like looking at all kinds of miniatures. thanks for watching
Hi Andy. I really enjoyed your videos and it helped me alot in understanding the method of painting of model kits.
Im still new in this hobby. anyway, is it mandatory to "coat" the whole kit in dark color (for example nato black) as a base color? The only thing I understand is the dark color gave shadowy effect after it was sprayed all over again with lighter color. Please enlighten me. And sorry for the bad english.
Cheers and keep up the good work!
Know you know how I felt when building my first tank, the TAMIYA panzer IV ausf D
Nice video. I was wondering if you could do a build with paintbrush instead of using airbrush? ;p
Andy, great video looking forward to part 2, quick Q? why do you never seem to do a 'pin wash' around the details?.... just wondering?
+Alan Sheppard I sometimes do just depending on what look I going for
Great job.do you think there is any possibility of you you doing the tamyia jadgtiger 1/35 in the future,iv just started it myself and I'd love to see your finished result thanks
+Fcbarca Camp nou I might I have a few in stock it would be good to do some more big German tanks, Thanks
cheers mate
I haven’t built an armor kit yet, so it strikes me as so very odd to watch so much unpainted plastic being assembled. There must be many hidden spots that never get any paint or primer; behind handles, between the wheels, etc. And don’t even get me started on the interior,..... sheesh. I guess it doesn’t matter. I should hurry up and finish college so I can start building my armor kits...
Did you finish your colloge?
@@Another_dabdabi yes, I did! I still have my armor kits waiting for me, but first there’s a 1/48 scale F/A-18E that needs to get finished. Hopefully I’ll work on that this summer! 🤙
@@corrioliseffect Man I hope you live a happy life and Im glad you’ve achieved your dreams! 👍
Hi Andy!
at 23:03, what is that clean water in a bottle? what's that use to?
A late reply, but did you notice you put the rear tow hooks on upside down? Did you ever correct it?
Just wondering....
Good choice of music
Hey Andy. Another great video. I hope the online shop is doing well for you. Keep up the good work.
+blueline308 Thank you
I got into scale models a few months ago and its now time to buy a brush. Do u think this would be good for a new beginner?
Hi Andy! Are you ever going to pick up on the rail yard dio?
If I make that white version, may I put black surfacer like what you did?
to put a full coat on a model do you put a lot of paint in your airbrush?
Kinda looks like the Marder II, but still amazing videos as always! :)
Appart from the side armor panels you are right
+BoonGamingYT Yes, just a much much bigger gun I think the 88 mm is 18 feet long and very high velocity round. Thanks for watching
Hi Andy ! Great video again ! I would to know if that's possible to order a kit on your website and delivery it in France ? Thanks and sorry for my English :)
Hi there Andy!
I love your technique you make modeling look so easy.
I have one question, when you put your coat of dark yellow, how come it stays at that colour? You see, when i painted my panther in dark yellow, the colour turned into a sickly green shade as it dried. Not a big fan of that shade.
i used tamiya dark yellow, the same you used, but the colors on the mods are extremly different.
thats weird what color was the plastic ? german yellow does have a green tone to it but you may have had a bad mix from Tamiya
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters i primed it with light grey spray paint before painting, could that have any effect?
I wouldn't think so , sounds like paint problem
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters oh, well. i will try with another paint then
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters thanks for the reply, you are awesome
This was a bit of a nightmare build for me. First I realised using Tamiya extra thin cement is only for use in reinforcing already snap-locked parts, hatches, panel lines etc, in whats called a 'capillary' action.
I switched to my old Humboldt poly cement and then Tamiya regular cement, with better results.
Second, some of the parts were unnecessarily tiny. I'm talking 2mm, if that. and lots of them.
Thirdly, and a major problem was attaching the right side upper hull panel. the box was too far forward, as well as the fender did not fit, NOT EVEN CLOSE. I had to cut back the fender, unglue the equipment box and re-position it to enable the side hull to fit neatly with the right hull piece. The problem was the fender now is sunk in and not nice and flush like the other side.
And that's just halfway through the build. 42 steps. I am choosing to use Tamiya fine surface primer oxide red which is hard to get, but replicates the undercoat rust look that most German AFV's have.
I'm looking to do a Opel PanzerWerfer (on the Skd 251) next, don't know if you have a build of that.
Hi Andy, awesome site. I have a question. Seeing as you do not use a primer I have to know how you keep paint on your photo etch parts? I have primed my stuff but even then it rubs off in areas. Could it be that the etch has a chemical film on it, residue, prohibiting adhesion?
After I paint I always seal the whole tank in clear lacquer which is a very hard finish and protects even the PE
I think the crew compartment is meant to be that milky white German interior color
+Henry Annand hi actually open compartment German vehicles were painted body color for camo from the air
hello, please, explain how the tracks are placed, thanks
How much thinner to put in a Tamiya bottle right off the bat?
Hello, nice job, I just subbed to your channel.
i would have lost my mind on the gun assembly part of this
Great Video! Browsing the online store right now as I listen, but i'm wondering, are the prices in USD? And how much would they change for a Canadian customer? (With our dollar in the tank right now) Thanks!
+Kanadian Kerbal he dont ship to canada yet :(
+Kanadian Kerbal yeah i'm sorry i am only shipping in the US right now Until I can get a expedited process for customs.
Why did you not put the wire for gun lock on?
andy is the backround a hobby store
Hello,
Which air brush do you use and recommend???
Plus the compressor??
Thanks
Just seen the iwata HP-C spray gun in the video...... :O)
Andy, I just re-watched the jsu152 vid and you used a gloss, what gloss do you prefer and do you thin it?
+Alan Sheppard I like Tamiya the best followed by Testors lacquer , I always use a can , I hate cleaning my airbrush with lacquer , and I always find the can works fine and very little mess.
At what psi do you airbrush Tamiya paint?
22psi
Andy's Hobby Headquarters would that depend on whether is siphon or gravity feed?
nashorn means rhinoceros i learnt that from mark felton's channel
Do you ship overseas? Im stationed in Japan and would love to support a small business by buying from your online store.
what's the dull coat?
What's the background music?
how dose the NATO black paint show were your mistakes are?
+floob098 Black show easier where seems are.
Is the spray and the glue in the set

+Andy's Hobby Headquarters OK , thanks for the info
Im new on this and i have a question ... Do the paints comes with the tank box 📦???
Nope
Nein
the website doesnt work for me :(
Wich caliber is the gun?
Update: Firstly, this is a good 'overall' construction video. To actually complete over 50 steps and sub-steps plus nuanced and additional 'add-on' parts would take up another 30 min video. (radio antennae, MG mounting, Gun shield, special gluing technique...)
This model for me was a steep learning curve. I'm a returning fine-scale military modeler, with a panzer truppen fetish.
I returned by completing a 1/48 ME Bf 109e (with Diorama runway), a basic R/C 1/48 Jagdpanther minus the anachronistic electronic parts; and then turned my attention to the 1/35 Tamiya Nashorn for about $90 Aus.
My wallet was strained, as was my patience, sanity, and faith.
I purchased MANY extra paints, weathering kits, special red oxide fine surface primer, panel line accent colors, and to top it off, an extra KIT, to name just a few.
Now I appreciate that I'm not a pro, I don't have an airbrush - compressor (yet), but this kit seriously challenged me, and I haven't even finished it yet.
What I have learned:
1. If you can afford it, buy a spare(2) kit.
2. Patience, breathing, and patience.
3. Test every fit first using either blu-tack or previewing, along with reviews and historical data.
4. Navy SEAL saying: two is as good as one is as good as none. (I think)
5. Occasionally, get up and walk away.
6. The kit is not an infant child.
My inventory: (all 1/35) Tamiya Tiger I, initial production (desert diorama); Panther Ausf G ( Eastern front village diorama), Desert 88 FLaK 36 anti-tank position diorama, Wehrmacht MG squad entrenched in Ardenne forest '44.
Happy modeling!
2:35 Nice save ;)
+Steve Borkowski Thanks I drop stuff all the time or spill stuff like the big glue mark on my cutting board.
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters So do I I am missing a wheel mount for my Tamiya 1/35 Hanomag It is a pain
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters I live in Peoria Az I will visit your shop soon .
Great, do you know about Canyon State modelcon, its a big model show this Saturday. I am hosting it at the postal workers hall at 3720 w Greenway . Its free general admission and should be a lot of fun.
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters I heard you mentioned it a while ago in one of your videos . I mite be able to go but right now I'm dealing w my back .
Andy you really like your nato black dont ya
Nashorn i destoy 500 of this tank in world of tanks i use tier6 sherman tank jumbo with a 105 mm
tank?
Hugo_285 what's your I.Q level?
I never paint my road wheels on the tank, way too messy
That's just the difference between priming and painting the parts while on the sprue, or when the model is assembled.
On this Pz III/IV, the wheels are a little more accessible once built, whereas on a Pz 38t, Panther, Tiger wheels are overlapping so it makes sense then to paint them before they go on.
