This video is the complete build and review of the upcoming release from Tamiya of the Sherman M4A3E8 kit # 35346
This is not the re-box of the Tasca Asuka EZ8 This is a all new tooled kit due out in Mid December.
This fine crafted kit was a pleasure to put together and its fit was perfect. I started to , by request, to paint this kit up as the fury Sherman. Hope you enjoy it.
I would like to thank Tamiya USA for providing us a early copy of the kit for this video.
Questions, comments or if your in the Phoenix, Arizona area stop by we would love to see you.

This is the first Andy's Hobby Headquarters video I ever watched, so many years ago. Amazing to see where he is now!
Hey man, just quick question. I'm going to get this kit, and found a .30 cal that would great if it fit do you think it will?
Fury
You're the only guy I know that can get away with building the whole model without a drop of paint and then afterwards you've made it look like you've spent months painting it and putting it together. Crazy! You are one bad ass modeler my friend. 👍🏻
Wish we had a hobby shop in my area. All we have is generic hobby lobby.
so do i we needed some acrylics and couldn't find any there
red baron games i had to go on hobbylinc to get them
I don’t like the hobby store near me ether
They don’t have tamiya paints
Open a hobby store:)
Glad we still have a hobby store nearby. I'd never step foot in a Hobby Lobby. HL is owned by right wing bigots.
My my, This Sherman looks like the Fury from the 2014 blockbuster...
it is
That's crazy cos it's the same type of armoured verve.
Dang, It does.
I dropped several pieces of my 38T yesterday, found all with in a few minutes!
Just found this video. I'm building this kit as we speak and its just a simple fun build. Might do another one just because.
This kit basically puts itself together! No problems at all. I notice you forgot to drill the holes in the forward hull
A commentator once said that Fred Astaire made everyone want to dance and that Gene Kelly made everyone think he could dance...that's how Andy's videos are when it comes to model building.
I just finished the Dragon Easy Eight today. Really terrible fit on many parts. Sure wish I had gone with the Tamiya.
Dragon is losing their quality for some reason
Brett Bricker it seems Dragon doesn't care so much about the "Dragon Card" and all the goodies the mid and late 2000s kits were known for. That and it seems that now that they are fully established as one of the big boys on the block they have cut back on quality as well and upped the price because of the "name." Tamiya may not have full interiors and 1000 plus parts counts but I still prefer Tamiya over all other companies. You know the kit is going to be extremely well engineered and is basically "idiot-proof." I just picked up this kit today though Andy. Your review has made me itching at the bit to get started.
@@ottonichols3433 yes, tamiya is my all time favorite company for models
Great to see a pre realise kit and get a heads up. Very interesting. Many thanks
I got one for Christmas so happy
Same its nearly done it fit very well but a track broke so I had to do some patch work and lots of glue but amazing kit looks great
There's an E8 parked as a monument at a former military base about 130km from my home. It was war surplus bought up from the US and served with the Canadian Army in Korea. This kit looks perfect to model it. I'll have to free-hand the markings, which should be quite a challenge.
David Olie where would that be?
@@PC800Fixes Cornwallis, Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia. Since I posted this the tank has been removed, to where I have no idea.
Looks good
I didn't see this when it first came out I'm subbed to about 40 or 50 people so yea
At first it looked like a box of donuts , alas It's a Sherman tank, a rather awesome looking tank at that.
..and the fury craze takes over the hobby world..lol
+Mikey Tavarez I was watching the movie in the theaters, thinking this! Its just now happening?
And the 75mm and 76mm gun on the easy 8 could penetrate 92 and 128 mm respectively, so they could have killed the Tiger with a side shot as well.
@Kernal Scott 2 Just because the tiger could neutral steer, doesn't mean the crew was going to use it
@@M50A1 Just because humans can breathe, doesn't mean they want to.
@@spicyair710 just because your bitch ass knows that tigers can neutral steer, doesn't mean a poorly trained tiger crew in 1945 is going to, Especially in the stress of combat
Incredible that you have put this up so quickly! Thank you so much for the incredible build on a new kit!
Hi Andy. I was wondering what you used to attach the value gear packs to the tank. Any reason you didnt use the tamiya glue?
Value Gear are resin parts, so normal cement will not stick them.
Great build and video, even down to the music, thanks for sharing.
+George Brown Thank you
Hi Andy
Love the way you do your build videos just straight forward build and paint and I love the classical music.
One question do you use enamel or acrylic paints?
Vic Parratt (England)
+Vic Parratt Thank you
Vic,
All the Tamiya and Vallejo paints are acrylic, easy to use and keep your equipment clean. I often use oil paints as well it is well worth experimenting because once you seal it with some TS 80 you can just keep layering anything that you want. Acrylics dry so quickly that you can just paint and paint layer after layer with virtually no down time .
You are trying to work with the Tamiya Glue so fast!!!...
Good built, thanks for the great tut.
+LoveH2ODelirious I love Tamiya Glue it dries very fast
awesome build, like you I've built all brand of shermans, and that one looks awesome, and not over engineered, like other companies, they all look awesome, BUT I don't like losing birthdays trying to get them built, lol. really like tamiyas new details, thanks for the peek, yup must have
You're awfully brave doing all that airbrushing without the cap on the bowl...:)
+Tim Berry I know , its bit me a few times over the years .
:)
I especially like the logs, are they native?
+Tim Berry YES
maybe not brave but knows what he is doing
I have always been putting together 1/35 Tamiya tanks ever since they came out in the 80s. That brand is the best. Easy to follow instructions and easy to assemble too. I really recommend them to all levels of tank hobbies.
Oh really?
My tamiya glue doesn't glue as quick as yours, is it because your video is speeded up🤔🤔
Maybe because you are using extra thin?
Got one for Christmas, can’t wait to build it!!
awesome, i suscribe, i just notice you have make some other amazing models
+Justo Obligado thank you
I built this kit a few days ago and I agree it is a great kit and is my all time favourite 😀
Is he in a shop or his own room? Becuase that is extremely big! Wish I had something like that
I'm in my Hobby shop
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters ok thanks for letting me, your hobby shop looks awsome man! But I have one question, do you have a video showing how to paint camoflouge with a spray can? Like the faded look where you just spray it on, instead of doing a specific pattern, I don't want to buy an airbrush as I'm not serious into model kits, only have like 5 so far, plan on doing more tho, your vids really help though! :)
You work is great !! You talk only when necessary and spell out kit points and history perfectly ! THANKS 👍
Whenever I do a tank model, the tracks/ road wheels end up falling off
Kyle Benjamin use the tamiya cement glue it REALLY helps
Wow, I'm so excited about the release of this kit - I couldn't believe I stumbled onto a full build of it!! Kit looks amazing! I recently completed the Academy M4A3E8 and, while it wasn't too difficult and built up into a nice model, it was far more fiddly (from what I saw on your build) than this new Tamiya offering.
Great video and I instantly subscribed! Thanks for showing us this... do you have any idea when the kit will be available for purchase?
+qcarr Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
There should be long grab handles in this kit to hook the logs around I done exactly the same with my E8 kit haha
There harder and harder to find,we all don’t have the luxury of having one , thanks god For Amazon
Im building the 1/35 Italeri version now
..which is very well detailed too
Thanks for the video ☺
Bought one of these. Both the main hull and main deck are twisted and deformed. Doubt if I can use them at all. This is the second AHHQ 1/16 kit I’ve received with this problem. Horrid quality control.
Hi Andy !!!
sorry for my late question but i want know if you remember of course what kind of wood did you use in your "fury" sherman model ?
Awesome build and review. I always enjoy watching your build videos. . . I think it is the classical music :) Moreover, like how you display the instruction sheet. Looking forward to acquiring this kit someday. Unfortunately, I need to whittle down the stash first!
+Russell Gosselin THANK YOU
amazing but the wood on the side looks kinda off, should have painted it with darker brown with patterns. (it's way too bright)
that being said, amazing video thanks :)
How do you not even show the viewers how you built the tracks? I’m having a devil of a time with the dam things. Searching online for after market tracks hasn’t been productive. Based on the dumb idea of making us assemble them piece by tedious piece I would say this particular model stinks.
Maldición quiero de esas maquetas pero no encuentro alguien me aconseja una pagina.
Typically, unless they are in pieces no one describes the assembly or the painting of the tracks which in this case look like the rubberized version.
How quick drying is this glue? Able to do a bunch at a good pace it seems
Wrong track type for Fury, should be T80 not T66.
The logs weren't for armor, they were for unditching the tank or getting extra traction. That part of the movie is bullshit a log is not going to stop an 88 AT gun
does the turret rotate?
He rotated it in the video
Nice video as always. Did you use Extra Thin Cement for the entire build, or just for the smaller parts?
I use extra thin all parts
the tracks look awfully bad , no?
Is casting mark historical or Tamiya control.
What paint did you use for the olive drab? Also when I am going to put this kit together I'd like to know if there is an obvious line where the bottom of the hull meets the top? Thanks
Does this kit have workable tracks?
Que tonos de pintura has utilizado ??
"Best damn job I ever had!"
Best job ever had =FURY CREW
,,,opppsss,,,,I should have waited,,,,I see it now, as you are spraying black....TY
I just bought this kit...for Xmas....LOL. Since I just build German Armor, I will make it an Easy 8 "captured by the germans!...(same as my T34 and KV2)....Those Germans...capturing everything! Sorry E8....going panzer!... (even have the german crew). Nice Video as usual Andy!...congrats.
I watched this video because my dad bought me a Tamiya M4A3E8 from the Philippines (He is in the Philippines) and I want to see how hard it might be to built it. ( -_-)
That looks great...are you using an Iwata airbrush? And kudos to your compressor for keeping the pressure consistent...I am building this M4 and found your video very helpful. Thank you
Hi, I got my own M4a3 "Easy Eight" but it was missing 2 wheels! It was hard to put the wheels on the lower hull. Do you lnow how to fix that problem?
Why don't you make Laffeyette Pooles Sherman "In the Mood" he was a real.tank ace in.84 days of combat he destroyed 256 German armored vehicles including 12 Panthers killed over 1000 German.troops and captured 250
Yo Andy, I've seen some people keep most of the suspension parts and wheels off and put them on when the rubber parts are fully sprayed, and the center is painted green perfectly. I've seen some of your videos and you don't seem to do that. Are there any reasons why? I'm just starting out as a modeler and I've got this kit as my second, so I'd like to know, because I really want the suspension and wheels to look nice haha
Guess in the Thumbnail, it really looks like the Fury to me...
Hobby Lobby sells this model. You can get 40% off with their online coupon.
I enjoy your videos. Thanks for your time and review of products.
HEY Andy! I was wondering if maybe somtime that you could make a Italeri WOT kit. I've made the Leopard 1 and Tiger 1. Try make the type 59 plz!
What is the cement you are using? Does it dry fairly quickly? I know it is sped up, but seems like you're going through very quickly. I am probably going to buy this fairly soon and that cement seems to work very well.
Andy, I just finished building the Tamiya Easy Eight Sherman, using some ideas from your video. Many thanks! I noticed you glue onto painted surfaces. How does that glue hold? I'm used to removing paint prior to gluing or using Elmer's. BTW, I have the new Sherman on my shelf alongside a 1970's Tamiya [motorized] Sherman, one of my first kits! Tamiya has a 1/35 Sherman Firefly on their website; hope you get one soon!
Great review.. Building this and am having a lot of fun doing so.
Nice job Andy. Kinda pricey for a relatively small kit with low piece count. But then I remember when I bought tank kits for $12...
By the way: you have another video showing how to "lighten up" the Olive Drab...you skipped that step here due to the pieces being white?....Thanks!
At 20:51 baggage Though I cost 20 dollars in Japan, this is your country, but is it 20 dollars?
I just bought this kit, not from you unfortunately. You haven't had one for a while now. So Amazon sent me one.
Great kit!☺, currently working on one. Great fit, but on the downside, missing some details. Such as no tow cables/ or nylon string. Also molded on hach handles. Otherwise great buy for the money. Great video. Regular subscriber here. Thanks.
What glue do you use?
Do you only use Tamiya Extra Thin? Should I only use it for my Tank kits?
Thank you
+Zach Glen Tamiya extra thin works well on all models and is usually the glue I use
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters great job on the "easy 8", it looks awesome ! i can't wait till mid dec. when i'll be able to get my hands on one ! i love tamiya products. paint, glue, and of course the kits !
will you be offering this kit when available ? do you ship ?
Pray tell, sir, what is that glue you are using??? A dip in the bottle and swipe and you are done, it seems....
Nice model, But quite disapointing to stack all that gear on the engine deck. No tanker would even do that. It hampers the movement of the barrel and even blocks the Coax at some point. ,
Damnit, Why is everybody hung up on " FURY? " I would like to use the kit to make the M50 Isherman.
Do you know of any starter kits and paints for cheap? And how muh does a cheap airbrush cost if you know. Thanks m8 :)
I love your videos and I subscribe. I was wondering wether there is a A34 comet model. Thank you for making these videos and I love to watch them.😀
i just ordered this kit tonight and watching this video was very encouraging and gave allot of good tips
Wow looks great, I have watched this multiple times while I wait for my own kit to come in!
+Trevor Hawkins Thank you
I’m back I made the sandwich
Since the fury model is to expensive for me I will just get a m4a3e8 paint it gray then find 6 sticks outside cut it evenly tie it on the tank with a rope have it hang loose and rocks and a tannish fabrics to represent the bags
The background music should be Wagner?
can u send me that m4
please
i will be very happy because my parents dont have money to by me that toy
Not a toy, and even for playing.
Most certainly not a toy! This is a display model, you build it, put it on a shelf and admire it.
I don't know how you put the lower hull and suspension in 2 hours. It took me 6 hours just to clean up the road wheels. Hats off to you for a great build!
Great build Andy, good looking kit too. It's been awhile since I've built a kit from Tamiya.
What do you use to paint it and what paint do you use? I’m new to modeling and watched this to see how you do it
hey Andy I was wondering if you could do a video for the walker bulldog
Скажите, а какую краску вы использовали в работе?
Do you do delivery ?
How do you go so fast?
When you complete the tank up to the airbrushing stage, instead of airbrushing can you use Tamiya spray cans at the exact same level of completion in the kit. or do you have to paint it earlier and in smaller parts if using spray can.
Andy - just saw this posting you did a year ago...good stuff! What do you use for securing down your stowage on the tank. Thanks.
Nice Video
can you make a airbrush Tutorial because i cant spray with a airbrush XD
I have a shaky hand so I could never do something that impressive.
Can u do a build review of the m-26e4 from tamiya in 1/35 and the tamiya m-51 in 1/35
Hi Andy, what's the name of the superglue you use?
Iv got this easy 8 and the fury kit what I did notice was when putting the boggies on the fury kit was abit easier having the longer pins to install them iv had a couple through time fall off on the tamyia e8 kit using same CA I'm using the lighter quick setting one now all the time I think its alot better at holding just need to watch out for finger prints if not used to using the glue
