Should of done the Type S oil pump and 50-degree VTC while the motor is out. I also would of done the timing chain, tensioner and guides. It's not a Honda if you can't do at least 8k rips.
Not gonna potentially sacrifice reliability of such a low mileage motor for a few horsepower. The motor will be getting boosted eventually. The motor can be pulled in 2 hours so it’s not a big deal to do any of those things down the road if I feel like it
@@staticspeedtuning You have a mystery motor and no matter what are taking the word that it's low milage and that they were kind well taken care of miles. @@staticspeedtuning dang .. I know u know the 50 makes more but really I mean looked about the same. That's impressive. Quick plain and simple, effective... Other then the known issues with chain/tensioner I bet it don't get much more reliable than that
Hey I saw that you went to jdm express to buy the motor, I bought my k24 from them yesterday, I got the k24A RBB-4 is there a difference from the rbb-3 and the rbb-4 ?
Damn bro I been thinking of doing a swap but I would have to find myself a good shop first cuz I really don’t want to do all that work myself in my front lot 🤣
I did mine in the back yard. Built the block in the kitchen and used a set of hand trucks to bring it out lmao definitely sucked balls hopefully u found a shop. I feel ya dawg!
Hell yea bro glad to see you back and running , hmu I’ve been making tons of progress only thing is doing it myself it’s not so bad I would I’m 70% done can’t wait
@@K20Val Can’t talk about that but let’s just say no one on the planet would do it for the price these guys did. Can’t thank them enough so you either have to know someone or pay about $2,200 for a random shop to do it

When you pull 2nd gear that’s when you know it’s not a k20 no more 🔥
Damn, these guys work fast, they don’t mess around. My boys would never get their hands dirty.
I know I am forever grateful for their hard work. Really saved me in my time of need
sounds freakin badass just got a rodknock im indecisive about rebuilding the z3 and adding cams or just k24 swapping it
Awesome bro, I just bout a k24a from there today.
Orlando that we’re I’m at not to far from that shop 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Doing this tomorrow!! Do you have to cut the rbc intake manifold to fit the rbb3 head?
What spacers did you use for the rear motor mounts ? Or where did you buy them ?

Nice
did you use the stock bolts or had to put longer bolts when you put the washers on the rear mount bracket so the headers can clear??
Stock bolts. Longer bolts would be a good idea tho
Yeah my skunk2 is touching the firewall slightly. Putting the washers does the trick?
Yeah that’s why I did it
@@staticspeedtuning ty
Is the wiring harness the same from k20 to 24???
How i do i go ab getting a tune from you? i just got done with my k24a swap in my 8th gen have flash pro but cant find a base map or tune to run
ktune makes a header for k24swaps on 8th gen, no more header knocking on the firewall
So does PLM. I already had this PLM V1 K20 Header so I made it work. Only vibrates for about a week randomly and it hasn’t vibrated in months
Sick, what’s the highest u can rev with the k24 without the type s pump?
7600 to stay on the safe side. Some people go higher but it’s pointless without 50 VTC
Safely 8200
@@staticspeedtuning hey man what vtc are u running?

@aaron_gorman99 on Instagram, But we are in Clearwater area. Would have to get the car towed over here

I do engine work at my place gota shop on my property
Very nice I’ll get there eventually

Pretty sure it’s the same motor just a little newer by a few months to a year or so

Should be yes

Did you use a k24a2 valve cover and oil pan gasket ?
K24 valve cover and RTV silicone goop gasket
@@staticspeedtuning thanks bro, doing the k24 swap on my coupe this weekend.

@@staticspeedtuning sweet, car feels so much better than the hondata basemap it’s crazy
How many washers did you use for the rear mount?
5 on each
How much was everything? I’m also at 193k and I think the timing chain is about to go

By all accessories do you mean everything like alternator and all?
Yes everything that is ran by the serpentine belt
@@staticspeedtuning so you literally only need the bare engine
Exactly
I'm almost at the point of pulling out my k20 and getting k24. Are you able to keep your z3 head with this build ?
Yes that will do the best combo. I wasn’t sure if my head was trashed or not so that’s why I just went K24
What block do you get if you want to run the k20z3 head
How much did u pay for the engine there?
Aye man do I have to change my k20 cam sensor over to the 24?
Every sensor needs to be transferred

Damn yeah the K24 one is missing a wiring plug
you're going to crack the header if it hits the firewall hard im sure
Yeah we’ll see how long it lasts not too worried about it
🔥🔥🔥
Def could pulled it from the top
Only if we removed the radiator, A/C Condenser, and core support. Fitting the K24 in through the top would’ve sucked though
