- Napoleon Total War Gameplay - Napoleon has conquered the Russian Empire and they now fight for him. (Don't get mad Russians, just coming up with a backstory for this battle) Sweden with the help of Portugal has launched an attack on Egypt, which is under the French defense. Why did Sweden attack Egypt? Good question....Gold...yeah because gold. The 4 armies are about to do Battle! Enjoy the epic Battle :D

I give prop's to the Sweden player because he was the only one to really do anything. He went up against the Russians (camped the hills) and destroyed them, and helped his ally. While the French and Russian players were boring to watch (camping & sniping generals). Awesome Battle!
Yea Sweden was really good in this game, maybe because the player was a veteran, and also Sweden helped Portugal so much I don't like what Russia did camping the hill and sniping Sweden's general

I dont think that was a camping from Russian, sure he put his artillery on the hill but looking at the composition and position of his unit,i think he's going to attack if Sweden does not make a move. I still think Russian player is the MVP here, those charge on Portugal artillery site really changed the tide of the battle and his countless attempt on helping nearly inefficient France ally really is a great job. I personally enjoyed the gameplay of Sweden and Russian player as they are more engaging and efficient in using their units on the battlefield.

No, that's putting the stuff down the cannon, like with muskets.
I know that's what he's supposed to e doing, but if you look at the the thing he is holding to do that, he's actually just rubbing the outside of the cannon, just a small bug :3

One of the top battles I've seen in a while, Russia and France really stood their ground.
France made several crusial mistakes.
First letting the cav die, then murdering their own troops with canister shots, and the whole hill battle was rather poorly done.

I love this Total War, you feel so connected to the battlefield because of the map's size. Attacks are dynamic with opposing attempts at flanking and not huge mosh pits

I've actually wiped out an entire infantry unit of 120 men with canister shot in this game before.
A tough fight, very close. Pyramids is always a hard map to get line of sight on.

Wellington would have loved a battlefield like this. He loved to hide his men just below a crest to protect them from fire, then, as enemy infantry approached, march forwards, deliver a devastating close-range volley, and then charge with bayonets, most notably at Talavera.
I liked the new videos that were posted. They were really good fights, mostly coming down to who would be the last man standing. I actually thought the French and the Russians were going to win this one, but once again Sweden and Portugal take home the gold on their second major battle. The first major battle that was a three on three was close but there were a lot of mistakes involved though it's total war and it's always great to have fun. I really want to play this game, get the musket mod and my new built computer. Though Marine corps matters draw my attention and it's better to focus on the career first then do this. I want to see England, France and the Danes take on Sweden, Portugal and Spain. With the Old Guard, the Blackwatch, Kings German Legion, the Home Guard, the life Guard etc. in this one major battle that has open ground, no cities, no hills... just open ground.

It always amazes me though why people don't use column formation when moving quickly from spot to spot. It is historically accurate and it works in the game. The Swedes should have gotten into column in the advance, and then deploy to line when they got close.
I agree, but I can see why a couple reasons column’s weren’t used here
1) clear artillery superiority: The Swedish and Portuguese players clearly were at an initial disadvantage to artillery, as it was in near perfect range. Any matching column would be a prefect target and would rapidly be cut down, most of the best artillery shots were at the sides of lines which is close to a column.
2) defender positioning: the Russian defender especially had great initial positioning for cover but could be out gunned, as line is the best place to fire, he couldn’t risk losing the possibility of firing first.
3) little need for rapid movement: columns are great when you have to go across battlefield, but few footsoldiers (except for the Swedish Life guards) ever crossed out of their own little combat zones, which meant line was good enough.
Regardless, columns work and people need to use them more often!
I just started playing total war about a month ago and after playing the campaign multiple times for medieval 2, Rome 2, shogun 2, Fall of the samurai, and napoleon. Napoleon has to be my favourite, despite its campaign being a bit linear, but I feel more strategic and also put my troops lives before the win. my favourite campaign match was getting ambushed right after failing to capture a fort with 2 extra armies on the side. I retreat with half a light calve, and less than 400 line infantry troops. I lost over half of them but was able to fight off about 1000 men with cannons. This game is just awesome, needs to be the next historical game.
I've never played empire or napoleon myself but watching Warhammer's 10minutes battles made me want to start playing Napoleon. I've actually already got it in my steam library

Guys have you tried Mount&Blade Napoleonic Wars ? In commander battle mod, you can lead up to 30 men as your soliders with your friends. It means if your team have 10 players, it means your team will have 300 men.

Hey Pixelated, do you play other games in your free time? If so i have a suggestion if you haven't already got it but its called Mount and Blade Napoleonic wars. I would highly recommend it to you, i think you'll really enjoy it
Loved the video one of the best total war pitch battle I saw
the best napoleon game I've seen for a while. And the most interesting aspect in empire/napoleon compared with other TWs is all the manoeuvre possibilities. For melee units, you fight and you stuck. Russia and Sweden did that superbly.
for once or so I would like to see the players who bring the French batteries use the battery of the grand convention in battle you can't go wrong with that battery that one alone will compensate for most of the fire power you will need.
