Great video! Love having the GDT in my back yard and no one even knows about it. I think this trail is one of the most diverse and scenic in the world and destined to become one of the greatest. Nice to see M.E.C. is now supporting it. Your video intro should be the commercial....
Thanks Dave! Yeah it's a gem and just getting better every year with all the volunteer working going on and new sections being added replace road bits.
In advance of a possible GDT hike, I've decided to bike a chunk of the Canadian GDMBR from Banff to Cranbrook (via the BC Trail) this June. Your videos continue to inspire me to go for it!
Just came on over to your channel from BPL and this first GDT episode is marked "not available". Here's hoping it's a temporary technical blip ... Looking forward to viewing it soon as Part 2 was epic!
I really hope to one day to the GDT. Thanks for these videos Dan.. I'll be watching every episode when they come out! Just out of curiosity do you do a gear break down of what you brought?
Do you need permits if you're just doing overnight section hiking? If so, how does one get one? I live in Tennessee and plan on hiking some of this trail in July. Thank you, great videos!
This is probably the most underrated hiking video on UA-cam and my favorite to return to when looking for inspiration! Tara really killed these videos
Killer Video Dan!

Hey! Loving your videos! How often if ever, did you see other hikers? Both section and thru?
Dan Durston wow! That is scarce!! I want to hike it but am hoping to find a partner before starting!
Hello Dan, wonderful film!!! Can I ask you the brand of the pack you are using? Thanks a lot! Fabien from Switzerland
Thanks! The pack is a Hanchor Marl. It's a good pack. I wrote a review of it here: intocascadia.com/2017/05/06/review-hanchor-marl-42l-pack/
