✅Ingredients
Basic Bakery Style Cookie Dough
• 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup cake flour
• 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
Chocolate Chip Walnut Add-ins
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup chopped walnuts
Cowboy Cookies Add-ins
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup quick oats
• 3/4 cup chopped pecans
• 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
Oatmeal Raisin Add-ins
• 1 1/2 cups quick oats
• 2 cups raisins
Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chunk Add-ins
• 1/2 cup cocoa powder* (see recipe notes)
• 2 cups dark chocolate chunks , or dark chocolate chips
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Add-ins
• 1/2 cup cocoa powder* (see recipe notes)
• 2 cups peanut butter chips
✅Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
2️⃣ In the bowl of a stand mixer, add butter, brown sugar, and sugar and mix on low using the paddle attachment. Increase to medium and mix until smooth, about 1 minute.
3️⃣ Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until just combined, about 30 seconds.
4️⃣ Add in cake flour, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined.
5️⃣ Pour in desired add-ins and use a large spoon or rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips by hand.
6️⃣ Divide the dough into 8 to 10 equal pieces. Use hands to roll into large balls. Place onto prepared baking sheets, 4 per pan.
7️⃣ Bake in the 400 degree oven for 11-14 minutes, until tops are golden brown.
7️⃣ Let cool on pan 15 minutes before serving warm, or transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Recipe Notes:
*For a chocolate cookie dough base reduce flour to 1 1/2 cups and add in 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder.
For a plain chocolate chip cookie: simply add in 3 cups of semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips for your add-in.
For 24 smaller cookies bake at 400 degrees for about 8 minutes.

I never thought cake flour in cookies would work. But these look awesome
Great recipe to use with kids. Mix up the basic dough and give a portion to each kid to do their own mix ins. They could also use peanut butter and jelly, and things like MMs, chocolate kisses, cranberries, oh the possibilities are endless LOL

I like like to add salt flakes right before baking, especially on the chocolate fudge cookies.
I had a hard time finding the salt flakes, but Amazon had them- should have looked there first!

No it is not. Cake flour is a finely milled flour. It’s very fine, almost like powdered sugar

hello there! If I want to chill my dough, should I chill them in the fridge or freezer? and for how long? Thank you in advance!
How long did it take you to prep and make all of those? It usually takes me at least an hour just to make a regular batch of chocolate chip, I couldn't imagine doing all that at once lol

My cookies turned out dome shaped and cakey. I followed all the instructions, and I made two different variations. How do I get the cookies to be less dome shaped and cakey? How can I get them more flat ?

I'm baking these now and 7 min in, the cookies are burning and very brown on the edges while the middle is raw.
Why 15 minutes on cookie sheet? Won’t they burn on bottom of the cookie?
Nope! But they are really big cookies. If you make smaller ones, they require less time.
