SCP 052, also known as Time Traveling Train is a type R4 New York City subway train. Official records indicate this train was built in 1932 and decommissioned for scrap in 1975. Nevertheless, it continues to appear on the Uptown A/D track at the 59th St. and 8th Avenue station at 11:57 p.m. every Saturday.

That train looks like a troll, randomly taking people from their timelines and dumping em in another. It probably got annoyed that its fun was interrupted by willing victims and sent that message.

Hypothesis: The reason why some of them never returned, when you think about it, wouldn't it be because the SCP Foundation from the other destination applied the same protocols as listed in the video?
My game theory is that those alternative realities might be because other time travelers changed their timeline. They might just be send too far into the future
Now there is a possibility that someone can board the train to another reality, walk into the invite ikea, then walk out into our reality

People from different realities emerge into our reality or into other peoples realities or maybe end up in a limbo place like "Infinite Ikea".
That's likely. Individuals from the future may have gone through and arrived in the past prior to the foundation being aware of the train and effected the timeline a lot worse then we can be aware of. It would only take 1 to through it out of whack and cause seemingly alternate timelines to appear, but it's likely there was more then one occurrence of this, meaning it's likely not transporting people through dimensions but transporting them across a fucked up timeline it itself created
I like to think that the only security measure is a wooden barricade and a single guard
I mean given it only appears regularly on a particular(ly busy) station once a week, it would be a massive investment for the Foundation to close it and/or provide an alternative. Not to mention closing it will just raise suspicion...

Considering the amount of people who either occasionally or consistently take up residence in abandoned Metro stations, this is a easier solution. Especially seeing as putting up a wall or something similar in many temporal paranormal incidents the wall will phase out of existence. Taking more obvious procedures like say a significant police presence would only cause more interest in the event from the public. The way they're doing it there is the best camouflage.
I know this comment is old, but it really does feel like another dumb horror movie decision to just put a generic wooden barrier at the entrance and call it good. Someone should at least install a retractable metal gate at the entrance, like the ones stores use when they close for the day.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to try sending in a unmanned drone, that is livestreaming data to the foundation?
I think after a certain distance it would lose connection.

I think they could send an unmanned drone that would record footage of its travel, but then they'd have to pray to God that it returns to their timeline and a somewhat close date

That wasn't how they contained it though. The foundation makes it seem like a normal thing but the moment someone breaks the rules they step in instantly and give them amnestics, the intro story was likely before containment or what caused them to notice the anomaly

since a note with the message "send no more" was recovered, perhaps the foundation could attempt to communicate with whatever sent the note by leaving notes on the train aswell, another possible idea for a test is to attach something to the train like a camera or gps tracker

Fun fact: The train is a R4 subway train. Four of them still exist and are still in museums.
Those subway trains were up into the 1950s when they were put out of use.

While I do get that most scps design just come from artworks, we do need to respect the decision of the creator of said artwork.
Edit: Also the artist behind the original statue of 173 allowed the site to continue using his work, but with conditions which are a disclaimer to be put on 173's page, and not to be used for monetary purposes(which is probably the reason why 173 in the scp unity game has been redesigned).

You know, i just realized that a lot of these "stories" of reg people running afoul of SCPs (like this one) seem to be cautionary tales of punishment....warnings of being too proud, greedy, lazy (like this one), stupid, entitled etc. Its almost like the whole point is to get people to live a "good" life and not waste it by showing what could happen to us if we don't....
Moral of the story: Don't trespass in closed-off metro stations just because you're in a hurry, or you might get transported to another time period where the world has ended.

The only issue I have with this story:
If the waiter lived in Brooklyn, he would not be on an uptown A/D platform.
The uptown A heads up through Washington Heights and into Inwood (North Manhattan). The uptown D goes to the Bronx. The opposite direction of Brooklyn.
