SCP-1562 is a metal playground slide measuring 2.2 meters high and 3.4 meters long. SCP 1562 was acquired from an abandoned playground after several children in the area went missing. The object's anomalous effects only manifest when a person slides down head-first on their stomach with their arms tucked down at their sides; any other orientation of the body or limbs while sliding results in no effect, and only human beings are affected.
When a person slides down SCP 1562 in the aforementioned manner, they will disappear instantly and completely at approximately 15 cm before the end of the slide. So far no one who has disappeared while using SCP-1562 this way has been recovered. Attempts to tie safety lines to test subjects in an effort to pull them back have ended in failure, as the tether is severed at the moment the test subject disappears. Communication with test subjects that have disappeared is possible and ongoing.

Really love the disturbingly accurate portrayal of how situations like this can be like, notably how the news takes advantage of it. When everyone's worried about the missing child the news milks it for all it's worth, when people lose hope they stop covering it because it's too depressing, and then they decide to make it seem like the mom did it because that's a juicy story that sells.
They don't care about her or her kid. They just care about having a good story based on whatever will grab people's attention.

I love how much more this channel adds to the lore. A lot of channels will just read the entries verbatim and it gets pretty boring when you've read the first like...250 entries directly from the source. Adding additional stories to the already existing lore is the best part of the SCP community and I legitimately love that this channel does that.
Dr. Bob even has a bit if lore on its own and that's pretty dope. I don't think people should alter the canon too much by redacting a bunch if stuff but this is fun!
I know this is only an scp story, but the true horror is just how real missing people cases are. What this mom went through, it happens to real people all the time, and that's what's really horrifying. And very, very sad.

Everyone who was involved in a crime, without being the perpetrator, and went public for aid suffered the same fate. First they help but then when the interest starts to fade or your story aint interesting enough, they make up stories and turn on you. There is nothing more disgusting that the media's split tongue and your helplessness and how easily people believe anything they read

Hmm, maybe send down a d-class with an explosive to see if the cave can take damage and maybe open up a bit? Sure there's a risk of cave-ins, but it'd also likely open the cave up for further exploration and possibly even tunneling out to whatever surface could possibly exist.
I was going to ask that or maybe docter bright can go down to see what happens ( his decision or not).
