I guess is on his nature. Each one is a side of L. Mello is the agressive one, is the part of L that went face to face with Light for being a suspect, that challenged him at every turn to his face before even really knowing how he killed, and that would kidnap people.
The biggest reason Light lost is that his social network got too large. Mikami was unreliable, but needed for Light’s plan to follow though. If Near and Mello are starting from the beginning, they would make next to no headway because their standard tactics would either be too extreme and drive people towards Kira, or entirely ineffective because they have no primary suspect, and Light has no suspicious friends until Misa.
While Mikami going to the bank was totally irrational since the literal worst thing that could happen is them finding the real notebook leading up to the meeting, Light not telling him that he always carries a piece of the note book is even worse considering that it would have completely avoided any possible mistake on Mikamis part in such an event as the kidnapping of Takada. Of course Light could only have communicated this through Takada, which may seem like it would cause difficulty, but realistically he could easily have told her that this information is useful for another reason than to kill specifically her in case she gets kidnapped. Light messed up because the plot needed him to.
Considering Near relied heavily on plot armor, making impossible leaps of logic and performing impossible swaps within the given amount of time... just the way he pinpointed Mikami makes no sense, unless he already knew everything for some reason and was trying to pretend he deduced everything instead... Yeah, they'd probably catch Kira within like 5 episodes with no leads, making a "guess" that there is a magical notebook without any hints that it's not evil eye or genie or anything like that.
If you think Near relies on plot armour and impossible leaps of logic then you’ve 100% never read the manga because all of Nears deductions are shown and explained clearly, sounds like Copium as a Light fan.
About the mikami deduction the anime makes it seem like an asspull but in the manga there’s an actual explanation and shows his deductions to know about mikami
One alternative that would have been interesting is : what if L’s death was publicly revealed from the start ? The main reason Near and Mello are suspicious about the Japanese task force is because L’s death was kept under silence and he was replaced by a decoy.
Amazing video 😍😍, i really liked the video it was really amazing. The only problem is English isn't my first language and captions weren't so right tbh and i can't understand English very well. But the video was amazing 😍 . Can you do L vs Ayanokoji next?
That would be interesting Imo No , not because they together aren’t smarter than L but because L knew it was BB behind the murders at the start , whereas near and Mello would not have known this
I think Light would still keep his security measures in his room, I don't think there's enough to assume he wouldn't, as such I think bugging his room would have the same result that it had in the original.
I’m not sure if you’ve watched The Mentalist before, but I think it would be a great video if you made “Could L catch Red John” or “What if Red John had the Death Note”?
Second. Also I don't think Mello and near can catch light.L deduced everything about kira, Second kira etc.And finally to defeat light Near needed to Have plot armor and mello sacrifice his life.I don't think Light would lose to them.
If this really happened in Death Note and the case pass off to L I think the hate and apathy towards Near and Mello would go to L instead, as Near and Mello were saddled by succeeding where L couldn't, through the use of BS plot. Also just having less time to develop in the Anime
Couldn’t Rem have touched Mello with a page from the Death Note and made a deal with Mello instead of killing him onky for Misa to be apprehended by Near? Rem could've spoken with Mello and tried to threaten or bargain with him for Misa's release. From there Mello could tell Rem that he will release Misa on certain conditions. 1. Rem identifies who the real Kira is. Rem should be able to find Light after searching the region of Japan and seeing Ryuk. 2. Misa surrenders her notebook to Mello, maintaining ownership so she can see Rem, but so Mello is now in control. In this scenario wouldn't Mello win? By letting Misa go he probably knows Near would pick her up anyway.
The issue I have with the first one is that Rem may hate light, but i don't think would do so because it would make misa unhappy. do remember rem did kill L because it would make light happy. And if light was happy, misa was happy. This was something I think set up in the first or second time misa and light were in his room. I do think the second one is a lot more sound however.
I know this probably won't happen, but it would be nice if you could make some vids featuring charscters who either arent from anime, like Dexter or Artemis fowl, or relatively unknown smart characters
My expectations: Mello and Light barking at one another like dogs while Near gets a hug from Misa, basically a lighthearted version of the show Reality: How smart would L be at his power?
@@chaoticbliss4169 Yeah, but there was also significant suspicion towards Light at that point that is exploited by Near. Frankly, if they weren't able to impress Light to the same degree that L did with his broadcast, Light would never have felt the need to take the risks he did and probably wouldn't have been caught by them. Light would have just continued with his planned life like he did initially, slowly cornering Near and Mellow through public perception rather than direct confrontation I think.
@@chaoticbliss4169ok well what Abt Ls broadcast that narrowed down kiras location from the whole world down to Japan? In the show neer finds out Abt the death note via a police officer who was present while arresting higuchi, so the only reason they knew ABT the existence of the death note was because of L's work, it took L 24 episodes to figure out the death note existed and he had to use 200 iq plays to do it, imagine if neer and mellow (individually confirmed to be L's inferior) bad to figure it out themselves?? They would never be able to, they'd be killed before they would figure that out, not to mention the fact L narrowed it down from the Kanto region of Japan down to ONE person (aka light) whereas that information was just told to neer by izawa (to neers credit he did have to do his own digging to come to that conclusion as well as use his some psychology games towards matsuda to get that information, if it was anyone else in that situation they'd never be able to get that Info but the point still stands he only got it cause of Ls work)
@@chaoticbliss4169 The evidence may have been erased, but all the events and things L did still happened. Near and Mello just had to investigate those to see L's thought process. So they essentially just reacquired that evidence, which was L's work.
Whomever did these subtitles on the video didn't do a very good job. Spelling errors, ommitting words entirely, using the wrong word like, "incorrect" for "in character" which isn't even the same amount of syllables. It's a mess. They talk so slowly that it's not that hard to figure out what they're saying, except with the random second guy narrating with the stronger accent. But, it's not that hard to tell what he's saying, though.
He could possibly match L in intelligence but it’s not just iq that led L to discovering Kira. Plus it’s just not as entertaining watching some kid in his bedroom discover Light is Kira when we already witnessed L take an extremely hands on approach. I don’t think near could because he seems to lack the people skills that L had. Not to mention that makes the series more boring.
Light wins easily. The second half of death note was bs. Light would've won if not for near's plot armor . L is far smarter than Near and mello and so is light
It would end the same way as it did in Part 2 except it would end faster. Mello & Near together > L & they solved the case against a more experienced and powerful (in status & authority) Kira in Part 2 so Part 1 would make it easier.

Mello can't catch a break. In the main series he dies, he's a puppet in the drama, doesn't appear in the films, and he still dies in this scenario.
If plot doesn't kill him, diabetes would.
I guess is on his nature. Each one is a side of L. Mello is the agressive one, is the part of L that went face to face with Light for being a suspect, that challenged him at every turn to his face before even really knowing how he killed, and that would kidnap people.
I mean its understandable, Mello is way too confrontational and aggressive and thats a risk with light.
I really do love these videos. It is like the ultimate litmus test to see how intelligent a fictional detective is to see how they handle Kira's case.

Light was also gradually deteriorating through the show getting more insane by the day.

We all know the real greatest hypothetical… could Columbo catch Kira??
Agree
Columbo's shtick can counter Light quite easily in a Direct Encounter.
But idk if Columbo could solve the Kira Case as a whole
His "just one more thing" would one shot Light in an instant. Too OP
