- Go on, Keep Diggin’ ...is what I kept thinking to myself and it probably won’t be the last time. This song was one Sarah DeFors and I wrote one afternoon in a neighborhood in Nashville called the Gultch after I complained a bit to her about something I’m guessing we all deal with at times in our life. I had a riff and a rant and together, we made it a song. I felt much better after writing and the song turned out way more fun than I expected after I continued to speed it up :) More and more, I keep finding the fun in the things that annoy me while writing songs which may turn out to be an excellent way to cope with life.
We shot the video ourselves in the usual way at various places around the house and of course in front of the green screen in the basement. I’ve said it many times before and if you’re reading this description, you probably already follow me on Spotify but just in case… I’ve been promoting Spotify recently as a place to stream my music. There are others like iTunes, Amazon music and Google play and believe me, I’m thrilled with anyone taking any interest at all in my music but Spotify has really been building influence in the music business lately. I’m 15 years old and I want to be a musician when I grow up. I try to play many instruments but the one that I feel most at home on is a drum set. I would say the only thing that impresses me more than a great musician is a great songwriter so I also spend some of my time trying to learn the magic of songwriting. I thought it would help me keep focused on music if I started a drum series where I learned a new song every couple of weeks. After 5 years, it’s now turned into a larger musical and artistic search but my goal hasn’t changed. Hopefully, I will keep doing it, keep loving music and keep getting better.

I try to imagine Mia in the dark, invisible, playing Keep Diggin. Would it sound the same as what I hear when I'm absorbed by the total video performance? I can't say. I can't go back to before I ever heard and saw her. What is the Mia "One Girl Band" if you can't see it? I think the video is very important because it is remembered if has been seen once. Mia and her band of merry pranksters are a visual treat. I'm not sure how much remains if the visual vanishes and only the audio is available. I've listened and watched some videos so many times that I don't need the video every time. What to do! I'd say just keep on going as Mia feels she should. In a short time all music may be in a audio visual format. She's ahead of the curve, I believe.

Mia, I absolutely loved this song, this video, you! You are just getting so much better every time you post. Just before watching you, I watched some, best of X-Factor. I am wearing CPAP gear and had to keep pulling it aside to blow my nose. Admittedly I am emotional and I thought it was over but the next video in line was you and here I go again! You are just so professional. I was going to suggest you go on Idol or Xfactor but I swear, you are just too professional for an amateur show! Keep 'em coming girl, I'll keep following! Someone will probably sign you one day, or you will do like Metayl and get enough support from your fans to publish your own record. Thank you for all the encouragement and I hope you're feeling heathy :) No plans for any tv shows.. I really rather spend all my time making music. I would welcome a label at some point but I'm quite content getting to record the way i'd like for now.
What I love about your song is how you broke up the rhythms to create a sense of urgency and tension within the lyrics. It was very prevalent in early Rock 'N Roll, particularly with Elvis, who had incredible vocal timing. You're a fine, young talent, Mia and I wish you nothing but the best.

@@miamorrismusic I've been in a few bands over the years and we always wrote original material so I completely understand how much that means to you. Songwriting takes talent but it's also something that improves with practice and experience so I hope you'll always have the love for it.
This a great well balanced song, you have come a long way from that cute kid with the squeaky voice that likes pancakes.
Your a breath of fresh air compared to your peers and your diverse interest in different genres makes both your music and videos quite entertaining. I think your exposure with the Song Suffragettes and session playing with some movers and shakers has lifted you up to a level that will continue to bring many enriching collaborations that will continue to bring about more of the same. I get why you are on a rocket streaking towards a exciting career as a Songwriter, Artist and Musician, your damn good and others clearly see that. You have integrity, when you commit to a gig you show up on-time and not just play but become the rock of the session and yet you offer up practical suggestions on how to make the music better. The artists you work with see your greatly desirable skills and respect what you bring (well most of them do ;-). And yet despite your incredible growth you have contagious sense of humor, put those around you at ease and “You still love Pancakes”!

I understand much of what you're talking about and see, with soooo much talent in a place like Nashville, that it goes past musicianship, (because that's expected) to how you work and the person you are in-between notes. I feel so lucky just about every time I work with someone around here and want to do everything I can to make it so it's how I get to spend the rest of my life. Some real success would go a long way to ensuring that and it's why I want success, not for the rest of what comes with it. I want to get to make music for as long as I choose. I was hooked on this song within the first 15 seconds! Good Riff, Lots of raw emotion and energy and that's what created Rock (and kept it alive for decades). It also helps us guys understand what you girls go through, because this issue you talk about is something that is much more common to young women (we're so easily manipulated by beauty). You were right to speed it up, it wouldn't of worked so well any slower. Otherwise, Love what you are wearing and the eye makeup (drummer)gives a really great effect in black and white.

Thanks Burt! I'm terrible with guessing about time of the videos. It's just sorta something we do most of the time and they get done. I've shot so many of the multiple, "mes" for old covers that it goes pretty smooth, especially on a song where I recorded it and know every note already :D

Not sure if you see the comments on these videos or if there is a more direct way to suggest this.
I know you have a full catalog of songs to choose from already...but when you make it to the finals (as if any other option is possible) hope you break out a new song that not only the rest of the world but all your die hard fans will be able to also see for the 1st time...
But for your 2nd performance...this could be mashed into a perfect option.
