Thank you for your kind words - this was the most Australian music scene entry that we'have ever sent, we have a very strong rock band music culture. These guys have been around for 24 years, they are independent and from Western Australia - not the East. We often don't do well in public votes and yet this little band that could (with a stunning guitarist who was the only woman in any of the bands and suffers from chronic Migaines and yet gave her all) won it's semi final and finished 9th in the final (despite only getting 21 points from the public in the final).
Wow I didn’t know all of the back story. You can tell they’re an experienced band. The way they performed and dipped into multiple genres was impressive. They deserved more recognition. Also what a trooper that lady is in the band.

Been dying to get stuck in to their catalog. I feel like as much of a winner as our beautiful Queen Loreen just for discovering a band that slays this hard! Huge step for REAL METAL at Eurovision that they WON their semifinal AND cracked the top ten overall! I hope they come back and finish the job… next year maybe. 🇦🇺😎🇸🇪

As an Aussie who self learnt drums back in the 70s l absolutely love this song. Yes I am 62yrs old and love this. The car on stage is owned by the lead singer and an 80s classic car. Incredible that the lead guitarist suffers chronic migraines like l do. I hope this brings them the fame they honestly deserve. Aussie Aussie Aussie.😎
I wouldn't say it's incredible that she suffers from chronic migraines. Or anyone, for that matter. Having any severe headache condition is pure hell. Something I'm betting every single one of us wishes we could get rid of forever.
Interestingly they won the Semi Final, soley public vote yet were 20th public vote in the final, even though the audio and vocals was even better. They ended up 9th place and most of the acts that beat them were from the first semi, so I think a percentage of the people who voted for them in the second semi probably had a local favorite to vote for so they were like second choice for many. Musically ithad to be top 3 or even first.
The semi finals were recorded and the votes went through from a jury, I saw the second semi final live and the live votes that opened went towards the finals not the semis. Unfortunately Eurovision do this every year to force more votes out of people.
I think they won the semi final partially because they went on last. My view is that it had a massive impact, leaving that performance fresh in people's minds.
Nah Eurovision is rigged and other counties vote for the counties they are politically aligned with
Lots of rock/alternative fans were voting tactically for Finland to try to give them a chance to beat Sweden. You can see it in the surprisingly low televotes for countries like Austria and Germany too.
Yes i think that's the case...tactically voting for Finland 🤔 For me it was the FIRST time ever that i voted on ESC because i loved the song so much and still play this daily 🎶❤

Australia actually won the 2nd semi final, they came 9th in the final.
i was surprised they have won it, deserved it fully. Its such a bummer they just got 21 televoting points in the grand final.

@@mell7524 Honestly, Voyager weren't the only great act to score low in the televote, and I think it was because everyone knew the overall win would come down to a straight fight between Sweden and Finland, so a lot of rock/alternative fans threw their votes at Finland to try to get them across the line. I don't think the final vote results were truly indicative of how popular the songs were, in other words. The final was a big tactical voting exercise. Australia winning the semi-final was a much more accurate guide to how appreciated they were.

I am really enjoying your reactions to these songs. This was another one that I really enjoyed as well.
Check out their back catalog. So many bangers. In 20 years they've progressed from being a metal band from being more synth-metal with a pop sound but each iteration has been fantastic.

i've had Voyager on my playlist since forever so I was so hyped when I saw they are participating. after listening to the song I was sure that they were top 3 at least but the jury at Eurovision never fails to disappoint. politics rule that show and it's a damn shame. the winner was a dud with a song that sounded so familiar even though I never listened to that artist in my life.
