Hey, I'd love to see a walkthrough of the wireframing process. Where do you go to find inspiration? What is your mindset when wireframing? Apologies if you've covered this already haha, I'm new to the channel.
I'm doing homework about this ty for uploading this video. Also If there's a chance to explain in another video about the methods that are used in the design thinking like the six thinking hats, blue ocean, or brainstorming I would really appreciate it. thx in advance.
Hello, the video was very good and very informative. Can you also make a video in which you can explain the Design Thinking process using an example? That would really help!
Hi Jonathan, can we call the UCD process that we use to create an app, as design thinking process? Coz they both seem to be totally identical. Plz let me know.
I learned something! But, it's basically saying to start off with a rough draft. Then, iterate through it multiple times doing finer and finer fine tuning methods until you are totally satisfied with the product!
Design Thinking : human-centered side of creative problem-solving **It's a mindset&philosophy 5 Steps : Empathize → Define → Ideate → Prototype → Test 1. Empathize : Understanding people you are trying to design the product for 1. Gather information : interviews, creating persona 2. Define : what are the users need? 1. What are their problems/challenges? 2. Turn everything you learned on the empathize section into insights 3. Ideate : coming up with solutions, ideas, potential matches 1. brainstorming 4. Prototype : Taking the ideas into simple/testable prototype 5. Test : testing with real people 1. by selected people 2. get feedback from them 3. back to the cycle vs Design Sprints : a recipe to run a design thinking
so as soon as my class dismissed i dogged in to youtube to understand in a much simpler concept of " design thinking" and i found this. thanks a lot for saving my day. really helpful.
Just sent this one to a friend who confuses Design Sprints with Design Thinking. Too many people want to do "the whole thing in 3 hours..." Perfect explanation here, Jonathan.
Thanks! I was getting overwhelmed with all the exercise options when it comes to design thinking. I like the idea of “It’s a philosophy” and there’s no strict step-by-step solution. I’ll keep it simple for my first product idea.
Thank you very much Jonathan. I'm majoring at Business Intelligence where this topic was spoken about but I couldn't get the best of it after the teacher's explanation. After watching your video, I really understood what DESIGN THINKING is about generally speaking and I even took note, haha. I'm already thinking about learning even much more about this beautiful topic. Thanks again!
Design Thinking is a philosophy and a set of tools to help you solve problems creatively. Thank you for the videos. Reminds me of the things i learnt. Good reminder.
design thinking is some thing that is not even being taught at design schools. we really need to realize the importance of it explore the true potential of design to have a positive impact on people and this planet
I love this explanation of Design thinking as the high level map and toolbox of free form tools you can choose from where Design Sprints takes core tenants of Design Thinking and dials it into an exact recipe of what to do when in each phase of the process. I'd love to hear and see more on concept, marketing and strategy sprints and how Aj&Smart is perfecting sprint exercises to help teams collaborate and excellerate outputs in these area. Hi, Jonathan and AJS staff. I am a newie in the field and still watching all your awesome videos on every topic. I appreciate them so much and thankful to you all for your wonderful efforts! My question: What are the channels or programs or websites to apply for internship (paid or unpaid) in UI/UX. Is it very competitive? If you could share your expertise in this topic, it would be awesome! Thanks in advance!
So how where would you say the connections are between the philosophy of Design Thinking fit and recipe of the Design Sprint? The way I can imagine it: Empathise = Expert Interviews Define = HMW Ideate = Lightning Demos / Solution Sketch Prototype = Prototype Test = Test Unsure where Goal Setting, Sprint Questions, and Map fit. And how would you best fit business needs into Design Thinking? That tends to be the hurdle I have to climb as it's soooo focused on empathizing with people and building for the human need. You could argue if you solve for the user, you solve for the business. But how do you sell that to the business? I'd love to see some content around that!
Hey Eric, great break down. Sure so the Expert Interviews would usually be held with the client themselves and not the actual Users. The Sprint is great for generating User Test and feedback on the Prototype section, but asking the business in this instance to provide background on their customers or user could be a start! We can for sure make some content around implementing Design Thinking, through the lens of workshops perhaps. How do you sell it, well if you want to innovate, this is one of the most accessible ways to implement that!
@@AJSmart Yeah, my thought on the Expert Interviews was that even though you aren't talking to users, that's an opportunity in the sprint to gain insights from the experts to empathise with users. That is, only if the interview provides those insights. So basically exactly what you said :) Many of my current workshops are based on Design Thinking philosophy, always looking for ways to sneak it in so we ensure we always circle back to connect business problems to users. I guess I'd love to find ways to have it be more widely adopted and the status quo. Show by doing seems to be the best approach so far, but that can be a loooong game.
@@EricBurman Hey Eric, totally, this could actually make a really nice video topic too, like "how to IMPLEMENT Design Thinking" key exercises to undertake etc etc. Thanks for the comment, really useful for us!
Yes, thank you so much for making me finally understand the in's and out's of design thinking! The graphics were really helpful in making me understand the process. 👍🏼

THANK YOU for posting this. Awesome stuff. Stay safe & healthy.
Please tell me how we can apply design thinking in the writing classroom.
Can you please share more about design sprint and how it connects to design thinking?
Would you say thats the "aspects" of design thinking is the 5 steps: emphasis, define, ideate, prototype and testing?
So how where would you say the connections are between the philosophy of Design Thinking fit and recipe of the Design Sprint?
The way I can imagine it:
Empathise = Expert Interviews
Define = HMW
Ideate = Lightning Demos / Solution Sketch
Prototype = Prototype
Test = Test
Unsure where Goal Setting, Sprint Questions, and Map fit.
So basically exactly what you said :)
Many of my current workshops are based on Design Thinking philosophy, always looking for ways to sneak it in so we ensure we always circle back to connect business problems to users.
Thank you for this clear explanation of design thinking.
Yes, thank you so much for making me finally understand the in's and out's of design thinking! The graphics were really helpful in making me understand the process. 👍🏼
