So there's a lot to the Afterlives. Arthas (blonde/white hair guy) was the prince of the human kingdom when his kingdom was invested by a plague that turned victims into mindless undead. One town was infected and he chose to kill the entire population to avoid them becoming undead. His teacher/mentor Uther and his friend Jaina abandoned him because they did not want to partake in the killing of innocent. He eventually found a demon who taunted him telling him to go to a continent to the North, found a cursed sword that basically absorbed his soul and corrupted him, then became a villian. Eventually killing his father (the king of the human kingdom) and did a bunch of bad things including killing Uther. Uther and Devos (angel lady) take Arthas after he dies and throw him into the Maw (basically inescapable hell). This is important because when a person in the Warcraft universe dies, their soul is supposed to be "judged" by an entity called the Arbiter who sends you to the many different factions in the Shadowlands. The Maw is for the truly evil, irredeemable souls. So Devos and Uther judged Arthas themselves by throwing him into the Maw. Arthas may have ended up in the Maw anyways, but that wasn't for them to decide.
Sorry for the long explanation, I love the Warcraft lore and cannot wait for the new expansion in two months.

    • @JaayCeez
      @JaayCeez 4 роки тому +3

Not to mention even though Arthas got corrupted, he wasn't an evil or bad person. So the twist they could do (given how loved Arthas was both in the universe and in the community) is that the Arbiter may have not thrown him into the Maw which would have been a controversial decision, but would also make sense given his soul was corrupted and change by the power of the maw itself. So who's to judge at that point? They can judge his actions, but the consequences that lead to all the destruction he made also has to play a part no? At least that's what can see them doing to make this interesting for Uther and Devos when they face the consequences of this.

    • @JaayCeez
      @JaayCeez 4 роки тому +5

@@rafaelhenrique4139 Yes, they took it upon themselves to judge Arthas and defied the Arcon's order. Big no no in these types of governing bodies. That tends to unbalance the order of things.

It's a backstory cinematic, they are all in this art style, they come out before an expansion releases, there are going to be 4 of them in total for Shadowlands (next Expansion) with the name "Afterlifes" as far as i know, there were 3 for battle for azeroth (the current expansion) Named "Warbringers" they were for jaina, sylvanas and azshara (Major characters of the Expansion), I do recommend you watch them for the backstory of the characters if you have not already.

Yeah..being chosen to ascend in Bastion means you have to give up who you were in life and forget everything so you can become an angel and ferry souls to the Shadowlands. There are five major "Afterlives" that currently control the Shadowlands.
Bastion - making sure souls actually get there.
Maldraxxus - military of the Shadowlands, where souls of great warriors often go to join one of the armies there.
Ardenweald - a nature themed afterlife where animal spirits and wild gods go, and since those types of demigod entities often return to the realm of the living, it's more of a recuperation and rebirth type of place.
Ravendreth is a grim and dark place where the souls of the wicket go for redemption. Usually bad people end up there if there is hope for them to redeem themselves. The place is very Gothic and is ran by a bunch of vampires.
Finally there is the Maw they speak of here briefly. It is Hell. No redemption. No salvation. If you are deemed beyond help you are sent there as punishment for being truly evil. It is nothing but endless torture for eternity. A lot of evil things live there, among them the Jailer the one who is both in charge of and the main prisoner of the Maw. And Eyebrows is trying to free him so she can become immortal in exchange.

Blizzard did CGI cinematics for all of their expansions, but a few years ago they started doing these animated features to further introduce players to the important characters and settings they would be interacting with. In this case, players are introduced to the realm of Bastion, what its purpose is, etc. We, as players, have never been to the Shadowlands in-depth, so this is a lot of new information even to people who have been playing for years.
I mentioned this in another one of your videos, but there are callbacks here to the "Fall of the Lich King" cutscene (ua-cam.com/video/qAIrj_Vqdfc/v-deo.html) from around 2010, in case you were interested.
Lastly, I've seen people commenting in your videos about what type of content you should watch. There are three types of content Blizzard has put out on UA-cam: 1) the CGI cinematics which you have reacted to; 2) cutscenes that use in-game models (so they're not as 'pretty' as the cinematics) and that players usually experience in the game; and 3) animated features like this one, which come out weeks or months before the expansion comes out.
A lot of these (cinematics, cutscenes, features) are heavily connected, but they don't necessarily tell the entire story on their own. Even playing the game doesn't tell you the entire story - there's tie-in novels, comic, and short-stories posted on the official website. So, don't feel the need to watch everything to understand the story, given that it would still be an incomplete picture.

The "Student" here is Arthas Menethill, former Prince of Lordearon that became the Death Knight of the Scourge and then the Lich King.
You saw him in the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic, wher's he's wearing an Helmet/Crown and walks from his Frozen Throne to the ice Toundra to ressurect a Skeletal Dragon.
Arthas story is a story about Someone good but flawed, becoming corrupted and engulfed by Darkness.
Like many said, Arthas while been young and brazen, only had the interest of its people at mind, but his Zeal led him on a slippery sloop, where he had to make very difficult and cruel decisions, Sacrifice some to save the Many.
The City of Stratholm was starting to get Plagued by the Undead Plague, killing the citizens and then reviving them as Undeads.
Arthas took the decision to Purge the city and burn it to the ground, he rather had the people still die by his hands as human beings, before turning into Undead abominations.
Uther Lightbringer, that we see here in the video, was Arthas Mentor, in the Paladin order of the Silver Hand, and Uther was like a father figure for him.
When Arthas took the decision to Purge Stratholm, Uther was vehemently against it, the 2 argued and din't see eye to eye on the matter and Uther left Arthas alone to deal with it.
Arthas took it as a personal insult and as if Uther abbandoned him when he needed him the most.
After that Arthas fought a Demon Lord that was Behind the spread of the Plague, but he escaped, Arthas followed till the Icy wastelands of Northrend, where he found the Infamous and Legendary Runeblade, Frostmourne.
He took it and used it to kill the Demon Lord, thinking that he had finished his duty and freed his people from the Undead Scourge.
But...what Arthas din't know, was that Frostmourne, was a cursed Blade, and that it was connected to the Actual Lich King, Ner'Zhul.
Ner'Zhul slowly twisted the sens of zeal and justice of the prince and corrupted him, turning him into his Champion, his Death Knight.
Arthas came back to Lordearon as a Hero, acclaimed by the crowd and was welcomed by open arms by his Father the King Terenass.
Arthas killed his own father with frostmourn( the blade absorbs the Souls of those it kills), and bringing ruin and destruction to the very Kingdom he sweared and worked so hard to protect, turning it into the Plaguelands, with Hordes of Undeads at his disposal.
he also Killed Uther, in the video you can see when Uther's Soul is absorbed by Frostmourne that it is broken in two pieces, one part in the sword, the other goes to Bastion in the Afterlife.
Arthas will finally be killed by the combined efforts of the Alliance and the Horde, who besieged his Citadel in Northrend (he is the final boss of the Raid for the players), where Frostmourne is also broken lying in fragements next to him, liberating the Souls that was imprisonned in it.
During that final scene we the players see that Terenass (Arthas father) Soul take his son in his final embrace, where Arthas asks "Is it Over?" his father "yes my son, No king rules forever", Arthas " I see only Darkness before me", that was in 2009.
11years later we see Uther and Davros be there when he die's and taking him to the Maw, it is a place where the Souls that are not claimed by one of the various Convenants of the Shadowlands (Bastion is one of them) goes, and will suffer for eternity.
Wich is a Bitch ass move, since Arthas story was a tragic one from the start, and actually it as been proven that the very slim sliver of Humanity left in Arthas, is what kept unconciously the Scourge to rampage through the World and conquer all of Azeroth.
Arthas is the same as Anakin Skywalker.

I guess I can throw in my two cents this time.
Everyone mortal who dies in the universe of Warcraft is sent to the so called Shadowlands. It is an plane for the Afterlife.
There on that plane, there is countless realms, that differ in philosophies. In the game expansion that is coming, we will see 5 of them. And when someone dies, they are sent in front of the Arbiter (think sorting hat in Harry Potter), she decides, based on the souls deeds, in which realm you will spend eternity.
One of these realms is Bastion, seen here. It is for the noble souls, selfless people who have aspired to the ultimate good. That is why Uther was sent here by the Arbiter. However, to become Ascended (You don't have to be, only the most noble souls get the chance), you need to forget everything about your life. Which Devos is doubting here, if that is the correct way to do things.
When Uther was killed by Arthas (I am pretty sure someone already told you his story, I think you reacted to the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic, so he was the Lich King in it), usually the entire soul gets sucked into the weapon, the sword you saw. But thanks to the Light, Uther's soul split into two. One part went into the sword (and learned that Arthas was not as bad as he seemed, and was corrupted) and the second half went to Bastion with the desire for vengeance (well I guess justice). So basically that is what you see here happening.
The big implications in this video is the fact, that they took Arthas' soul from when he died, skipped the sorting by the Arbiter and threw him into the Maw immediately. The Maw being a place of eternal torment, only the baddest of the bad end up there. Arthas would probably not go there, if he went through the Arbiter, he would probably go to Revendreth (Another plane, with Vampires, where souls go to repent from their sins.). - Speculation: Since they skipped the naturaly process, it might be why all of it was broken and why we need to go there to fix it. We actually don't know the story or why the process of sorting souls is not working anymore (The Arbiter has shut down) and we are going to investigate (Well our characters are going for a different reason, the players go to find this out). As it did not happen yet, I can't tell you what is going on in that sense :)
Also, this cinematic was in style of the so called Warbringers. You will get around to them eventually, I believe they were suggested a lot, so you might have them somewhere in the poll.
Cheers, love you reactions ;) I hope I did not go too deep and you could follow the train of thought here. If not I can try to explain more things or rephrase it.

So this is a callback to the storyline I told you about sometime ago.
*Uther The Lightbringer* - A honorable *Palladin* (Paladins are mix of a Warrior and a Priest, they can heal people on the battlefield with their prayers to the Light)
Uther was the first Palladin of an *Order of the Silver Hand* ,and he was a close friend of *King Therenas* and sort of a father figure for *Prince Arthas*
Uther was always a wise and strict teacher, but a loving
mentor and friend to a young boy Arthas.
As the years go by - Arthas was trained to be a Palladin himself, and his training was finished around the age of 19.
Uther was one of the first people standing in line in
Light's chapel, watching how his boy has achieved the status of a paladin, tearing up because how proud of him he was.
But when a Zombie Plague started spreading across the kingdom Arthas, now at the age of 24, realized that one of the biggest cities in the Kingdom were infected, and order his people to kill a whole town of innocent men, women, and children before they'll become a part of the Undead army and will attack them.
Uther was terrified by Arthas's thought and tried to
    dare him
"How can you even consider that?! There's got to be some other way!"
"Damn it,Uther! As your future king,I *order* you to purge this city!"
"You're not my king yet, boy. Nor would I obey that command even if you were!"
"Then I must consider this an act of treason..."
Arthas nominally "fired" Uther with his Paladins and told them to get out.
Later that year, Arthas came back from his travel to North and brought a Runeblade *Frostmourne* with him
He didn't have any soul in his body anymore. As a loyal knight of Lich King,he killed his Father,Ruined his kingdom, and murder Order The Silver Hand almost entirely, including a duel with his teacher.
The last words Uther spoke to Arthas before being killed were
"I hope that there's a special place in hell waiting for you,Arthas"

Oh back story on the character Uther.. good guy was the aspect of justice amongst the first paladins of the silver hand and person teacher to prince Arthas(who would later be corrupted and turned into the lich king, main antagonist of the expansion "wrath of the lich king" and one of the main characters of warcraft 3), while trying to defend his homeland from a corrupted Arthas he was killed, his soul seemingly split in two.. one part we help during seige on icecrown(lich kings castle) and that part of his soul forgives Arthas.. the other part presumably saved by the light.. was sent to the shadowlands where the cinematic takes place.. the reason the kyrians of bastion must forget their past is so that they may deliver souls without passing judgment to the arbiter who is essentially a heavenly sorting hat that sends people to portions of the shadowlands they belong or are needed most. By devos breaking her vows and doing this she has done exactly what the path had been trying to prevent, actually enforcing its perceived necessity.. i also think forgetting your life is totally not worth.. but also kinda understand why its needed.

Uther cannot forget/ his soul is wounded, because it was split in half as you can see at 14:00. The blade that struck him (Frostmourne) absorbs its victim's souls, but Uther's prayer to the light: "Light save my soul!" - protected him partially and Frostmourne could only claim half his soul. edit: Well that's a lot of soul for only 2 sentences, a quite soulful comment if you will... 🧐

Yeah these are actually really cool like origin stories or like "things that have happened since you last saw x character".. they have been doing these going back.. like 8 years.. starting with the "lords of war" series for warlords of draenor, then the "harbringers" for legion and "warbringers" for battle for azeroth, and now these "afterlives". They focus on characters that will have major story roles during the storyline of any given expansion.

Blizzard usually don't make every cinematic in ultra-"realistic" graphics, they actually only put effort on Expansion Trailers. Before, they used to make other cinematics that showcase key events of the story on in-game graphics(that are not that great) such as "Fall of the Lich King"(last cinematic from Wrath of the Lich King) but since Legion(expansion), they adopted this new 2D style with low frame rate, they used this new style on Harbingers cinematics and Warbringers cinematics. You should react to those too, especially Warbringers that only showcase female characters such as Azshara, Jaina and Sylvanas(eyebrows).

Would suggest watching Reckoning and Shadowlands before entering into the Shadowlands afterlives series.
Also, I have to admit, if you don't know the story in World of Warcraft, you won't enjoy the afterlives much. They all revolve around people we know, have played or played with, and who we will be meeting in the next expansion.
Example, I played Warcraft 3, played Uther (bearded dude) and also I'm the one who controlled Arthas and killed Uther. I've since grouped with my friends, and killed Arthas, and brought some offerings to Uther's grave where his spirit thanked me.

This is classic Blizzard storytelling. Characters whose lives and fates ended 10+ years ago, being woven in to a new story, that expands on the original. Without going in to great detail, Uther is a paragon of virtue, and we are witnessing half of his soul (the other half stolen by the sword) betray his own virtue by cheating Arthas (The Lich King) out of his post death judgement, and 2nd chance redemption, by casting him directly in to The Maw, un-judged and un..err...re-judged. Even the worst of the worst are given a chance to be judged and to redeem themselves.

So this video perfectly explains why the angel-looking guys (Kyrian) have to forget their lives. To do your duty and ferry souls without judgement, you cannot let yourself be burdened by your past life, your pre-conceived notions of good or bad. Their job is to bring souls to the Arbiter, who is their judge.
When they don't forget, stuff like this happens, where Uther just tossed Arthas into the Maw.

  • @Alex-dn5ns
    @Alex-dn5ns 4 роки тому

Uther the Lightbringer was a paladin, aka, a mix between a warrior and a priest, and he was the teacher and friend of prince Arthas Menethil of Lordaeron, who would later on become the Lich King. Usually, the souls of the ones the Lich King killed went directly into Frostmourne, his sword, but Uther's soul, due to his connection to the Light, which is basically the "good" energy in the Warcraft universe, a shard of his soul managed to make it into the afterlife.
The Shadowlands are the afterlife of the Warcraft Universe. It's a realm where souls go to after death. They first arrive to Bastion, where they are judged by the Arbiter, and then sent to a specific place according to the verdict. Characters who have been greedy, prideful and full of vices but still have a chance at redemption are sent to Revendreth, where they get punished accordingly but also rehabilitated. Those who have maintained a strong connection to nature, such as shamans and druids, are sent to Ardenweald. Those who led pure lives, who did good deeds and lived "selflessly" are sent to Bastion, where in time, they "ascend" and take on different roles, most notably, Paragons, who carry the souls of the dead into the Shadowlands. And those who die fighting are sent to Maldraxxus, to join the armies that protect the Shadowlands as a realm.
And then, there's the Maw. Ruled by the Jailor, the Maw is the place for the worst of the worst. Those who are irredeemable.
In other terms, think of these realms as Heaven (Bastion) Hell (The Maw) Purgatory (Revendreth) and I honestly have no idea what equivalents to find for the other two.

Afterlives Bastion is frightful from a story point with reverberations that will shake up the plot in big ways. Not only do we see Uther's soul fractured which we can only begin to imagine what that implies, but because of this we now have ferrymen of dead souls questioning their eternal charge and even going so far as to violate the very process they are duty bound to eternally uphold; claiming a soul and casting it into Warcraft's version of Hell without judgement. This is all on top of the fact we now know the Lich King's instruments were claimed from a portion of the Shadowlands that should not be possible, possessing the very power of that Hellscape. There's even new tidbits to suggest the ones who did it, the Dread Lords of the Burning Legion may not even be working for the Legion but have been agents of Death and the Jailer all along. Suffice to say as a Lore nerd I am excited.

Normally this is the part where I pipe up with some lore and backstory, but it looks like many have beaten me to that punch. Instead, I'll say this: *this* is what I come here for - your honest reactions and emoting. Thank you.
I will go on to say - you doubted he'd do it, cast Arthas into the Maw/Hell. I think you're meant to; when Uther is stabbed in the flashback, we see his soul split in half - part goes into the sword (where, in the game, we interact with a spirit of Uther that is kind and forgiving) and part goes to Bastion (a part that dwells on what happened to him). When the sword is destroyed (we see the shards of the sword next to Arthas), it's possible that this part of Uther's soul is freed to make him whole, which threatens (?) to turn him from the justice he seeks until Davos, his new mentor, pushes him to it.
The twist of it all is that by condemning him to the Maw (Hell) without letting Arthas' soul have a chance at redemption, Uther and Davos have fallen from the path of righteousness themselves.
(Ugh, and here I said I wasn't going to get all story-time on you! Anyhow, keep up the good work. Your delight at watching a video I found moving as well helped me relax after a stressful day on campus.)

Warcraft villains have a trend of falling from grace.
Sargeras (for lack of easier to swallow term, the god of order in the universe) is now the leader of demons trying to destroy the universe.
Deathwing (the dragon with metal plates fused to his skin) was the guardian of earth
Arthas tried to save his people by any means necessary, only for the power he found to do it turned him into his peoples destruction and undeath. That power came from that sword, frostmourne. He later merged with the source of that power the helmet he wears in the other cinematic. With the sword undead followed him, with the helmet he controlled them. But the helmet had it's own soul making him two beings in 1, the lich king. So without helmet, arthas, with, the lich king.
So it's not so much that arthas is irredeemable, but as the lichking he was.
The burnt guy that eyebrows faught wearing the helmet, wasnt corrupted, and was using sheer willpower to use the helmet to keep the undead from mindlessly over running the world. Until eyebrows broke the helmet.
As for having to give up your memories to ascend. We are currently at a moral conundrum, the leader of the maw, wants to destroy the shadowlands. But each realm of the shadowlands is it's own form of slavery. You dont choose where you go. where you are tricked, indoctrinated, or forced to serve.

Hey Hannah, new viewer, usually don't comment, but since you like (as far as I have understood) trailers/videos with characters that convey feelings and being able to empathize and understand sort of what is going on, i would like to suggest "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void - Reclamation
" and "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void Opening Cinematic
" though the second one isn't as important, just dope visuals and a continuation of what happens immediately after "Reclamation".
Here is some background to help you understand the setting of Starcraft, which is one of Blizzard's (makers of World of Warcraft) other game series.
Imagine a futuristic setting set in space with three major sentient factions at conflict (not always war, and not always conflict). The first are the humans who have cool massive space ships and colonize worlds with space marines in cool mech-suits. The second faction is the Zerg, which originally was a large selection of insanely fast evolving beasts (they literally ate other creatures and immediately evolved with the help of their essence) who were corrupted and turned into a biological army of insect/beast like monsters that consumed world after world.
The Third (and most important for these two videos) are the Protoss, a highly intellectual super advanced species capable of telepathy thanks to a special connection they call the Khala (imagine a telepathy bond with all other members of their people, as long as they are within a certain distance, able to convey all types of thoughts, memories and emotions). This species of aliens come from a world call Aiur, which at a certain point in the past was overrun by the Zerg and turned into a desolate world covered in the armies of the Zerg.
After a couple of games worth of history and actions, plot etc etc, the Protoss are now back to a formidable status in the galaxy and have gathere enough troops to attempt to retake their lost homeworld, Aiur. But their leader Artanis has doubts about sacrificing more lives to reclaim a part of their history. And that is what the video is about.
Sorry for long message, I'm sure some other diehard starcraft fans could explain it much better, but I wanted to spoil as little as I could while giving you enough info to sort of understand what is going on. Oh and yes, I just found you recently and you seem super dope! - New fan, Max.

To fully understand Uther you'll have to look into Warcraft 3 and Arthas, the second Lich King. Part of Warcraft 3 tells the story of the rise and fall of Prince Arthas Menethil. Short version: Arthas is a talented paladin loved by all. A rampant zombie-like disease infects town. Arthas believes purging town will stop the spread. Jaina and Uther, lover and his teacher, both dislike the idea and see it as too cruel. Arthas does it anyway and looks for more power. Arthas finds Frostmourne (the sword) which slowly corrupts and controls him. Uther tries to stop him and was slain. Uther's soul was split by Frostmourne in which in WoW you get to speak to the captured half which feels pity towards arthas since he had no control over his actions(the Uther in Bastion is the other soul half). Arthas then not only purges his home land Lorderon and masscres everyone in the Elvish city Quel'Thalas (where Sylvanas was while alive), but also turns all the inhabitants into his super undead army called the scourge(including Sylvanas). In the end he finds the armor of the lich king and slowly builds his undead kingdom known as Icecrown while frozen on his thrown.
The Wrath of the Lich King expansion starts off from that point. Alot of shit happens. You fight your way through Icecrown Citadel to where arthas is and slay him. When Frostmourne breaks and the helm of domination falls off of him he is freed from possession. His last words were to his father's soul saying, "Father is it over?" This implies he had no control and was a puppet. But he knows he must atone for the sins. "Only darkness before me."

Tenet left me emotionally cold, it was very underplayed, that Washingtons character is named literally "The Protagonist" already tells it all: It is more about the concept, about the world and principles than the characters. And at that, Tenet is really fresh. Still not Nolans best movie I think, but good movie to welcome the return to cinemas. Ironically, it did pretty bad in the US, whereas international openings were over expectations. I don't know what that does say about the movie audience, since they had an excuse this time to not go. warcraft has to be played, it is like watching people react to the starcraft cinematics and unerstanding jackshit. if you have a connection to these characters from the game, it is SOOO much more impactful instead of "cool cinematic, but who's that dude".

  • @aviia_1
    @aviia_1 4 роки тому

The Afterlives cinematic dips into a lot of lore, lore that’s not even part of WoW, it’s part of the game Warcraft 3, the precursor to WoW. The man you see praying to the light to save his soul is a man called Uther the Lightbringer. He was Arthas’ mentor and a very well respected Paladin. He is murdered by Arthas in Warcraft 3. Arthas is the creepy guy who resurrected Sindragosa (the dragon) who actually used to be the queen of the Blue Dragonflight. I’m not going to get too much into the Lore of Sindragosa because it’s not important or Arthas because it’s a long story and you can probably find it in another comment or on his Wowpedia page.
Uther ended up in Bastion, a realm in the Shadowlands where the souls who have lived a life of service go. They go to Bastion to review their lives, cleanse their burdens, and work to ascend to serve the Shadowlands as a Kyrian - messengers and couriers between the mortal world and the Shadowlands.
Uther’s soul is wounded because of the blade that Arthas killed him with. Its name is Frostmourne and it was an artifact taken from the Maw, where all the truly evil spirits who are incapable of redemption go. It’s making him incapable of ascending and becoming a Kyrian. This freaks out Devos because she recognises the runes on Frostmourne as belonging to the Maw.
The arbiter is the being that sorts the souls of the dead that the Kyrians bring, into their Realms, for example how Uther was deemed worthy of Bastion. Normally, when Arthas died he would have been brought by a Kyrian to the Arbiter, who probably wouldn’t have cast him into the Maw, instead for Rwvendreth.
Revendreth is a better fit for Arthas, compared to the Maw, because Revendreth is where the most Arrogant and egotistic souls go to be redeemed. Arthas in the beginning of his crusade was trying to do what was best for his Kingdom, despite choosing the wrong actions to get here. He was willing to bear any curse to save his people, which is why he took up Frostmourne, and from that point on he was corrupted. D used as a pawn for the Burning Legion. This means that he wasn’t necessarily evil enough for the Maw but he certainly wasn’t fit for any of the other realm, bar Revendreth.
Instead, Devos and Uther stoke his soul before a Kyrian could collect him, and threw him into the Maw to suffer for eternity for killing his people, his mentor, and his Father, king Terenas.
The reason the cinematic looks like that is because it’s an Afterlves cinematic. Since WoD they’ve been making 3 of these for each expansion, for example I think you’ve seen the Warbringers: Sylvanas, Aka the one where eyebrows burns the tree. The other ones you’ve seen have been Cinematics, not comic-style videos.

Watch the in game cinematics and then you will have a way greater understanding of what's going on, you still wont be able to get everything because the warcraft lore dates back to when warcraft 3 released witch was about 30ish years ago. Devos and Uther skipped that process and sent Arthas straight to the Maw without being judged, this will have far reaching implications.

I actually think I'm too lazy to be a gamer. I want to be told a story... I'm already writing my novels and I think I get my choose your own adventure fix there.

you posted novels or short stories before?
honestly, world of warcraft is amazing when it comes to inspiration, the depth of characters ( like sylvanas ) the music, and much more .
update us the day you publish your novel and good luck with it

you can start with burdens of shaohao....thats very good story telling....then maybe if you really want to go to warlords you should try that....if you feel like it....
don't watch legion cinematics that you said you'll go through in the last WOW video...not so much of story telling.....not the best of blizzard.

Since you’ve gone to see Tenet and since I don’t know if you’re a fan of the comic book genre/movies, I’ll say that if you have plans to go see New Mutants, please reconsider.
The movie, not only, is bad but they ruined my favorite character by making them racist. They made an X-Men character, a comic book series that is an allegory for racial injustice in America, racist. I cannot stress enough how bad the movie is for that.
