So, if Naked Snake did get his wish to go on a mission to ''collect pants'' would it have been called ''Operation Trouser Snake''? Suddenly ''Operation Ape Snake'' sounds fine.
I'd like to just say that this video is titled "Guest Appearances That Took Characters Out of Their Comfort Zone" I don't think Lo Wang would be very far out of his comfort zone in a game about insulting people...

Kratos appears as a playable character in Everybody's Golf 5 (Or as we knew it in Europe, Everybody's Golf: World Tour. Or as American's knew it, Hot Shots Golf: Out Of Bounds). Because, clearly, golf is the sport you'd associate with his temperament.

Arthas Menethil remember that time with there was a ducking dead baby in a Nintendo game, and remember when peach got possessed, yeah Nintendo is E for Everyone.
It seems normal now that we've had it for so long, but Solid Snake in Super Smash Bros *is* pretty weird. One photo realistic human armed with grenades and other explosives, vs...kirby. That's not weird. Nope. Not at all.
hey Chrona Trigger. looks like we meet again. and I do not have one of my trademark wisecracks to add to ur comment at this time, plz check back later.
Zero Sponge, I was also meaning in accordance with his normal games. YOU try explaining to snake why he has to beat up this really weird but cute pink creature unlike anything he's ever seen before
I think the "collecting pants" thing is a reference to an obscure Ape Escape spinoff/demo disk thing where you used a vacuum to suck the pants off the apes, wash them, and give them back. I think it was a Japan-exclusive but I vaguely remember reading about it a long time ago.
Technically, the Donkey Kong who perpetrated the kidnappings is the present-day one's grandfather, and is now a crotchety rocking chair-bound geezer. Which makes me wonder if the Mario from the original _Donkey Kong_ is similarly the grandfather of the Mushroom Kingdom's platforming hero And Snake just wants to have plenty of spares on hand for when Silent Hills comes out.
My favourite videogame guest appearance (?) of all time is Bowser in the Bayonetta series on Nintendo's platforms, as by changing to Princess Peach/Daisy's costumes will replace Infernal hands and feet Bayo uses in combat with Bowser's limbs, which'll literally have you obliterate tons of angels and demons in the most gruesome of manners as a character from a Mario game. That's brilliant, 10/10
Darth Vader & Yoda in Soul Calibur. Pretty sure the best sword you bring will still be melted by lasers; along with your armor and body. (Assuming there isn't any choking or cars thrown at you)
Weirdest cameo? Gary Busey as an elusive target in Hitman. Hands down. The weirdest part is that the real Gary Busey was actually involved in making it happen. Maybe he's just a big gamer or something.
IDK Harry and Marvin (Home Alone) in the Christmas episode of Hitman was both hilarious and weird. Why were we killing two criminals who couldn't even outsmart a kid?
I think the plan is actually to reenact the events of the original Donkey Kong, but with you instead of Pauline. Then again... why did he kidnap Pauline?
I think in Mario Hoops 3 on 3 you can unlock some Final Fantasy characters to play as. Yes, characters from a long running JRPG series decide to go and shoot some hoops with Mario and company. If that's not stepping out your comfort zone, I don't what is.
Sugar Skull I know Square Enix developed the game. I'm just saying it's a little out of character for characters who usually deal with conflict in turn based combat to suddenly decide it's time to dribble a ball around and get a slam dunk when problems arise.
I know this is a few years late, but I'm sure I don't have to mention the crossover between the franchises back in the 90s...Super Mario RPG had a direct tie between the Mario franchise and the Final Fantasy world.
What about the Palico's showing up in that one Metal Gear game and got Snake to hunt full-sized Monsters? They standout like a sore thumb and make me question the Metal Gear universe.
There's plenty to make you question the Metal Gear universe. Namely every game that was released past 3. But I think Solid Snake's inclusion in Super Smash Bros is far stranger, and raises far more questions.
I demand they make a second part to this list and include this in it. Mainly because I wasn't aware such a thing had happened and I'm too laze to look up footage of it myself.....
Tony Hawk Pro Staker 3 had you able to play as Darth Maul, a Mall cop, She Demon (looks a lot like Jane’s D&D character), a lawyer, and Neversoft eyeball if you have the cheat codes
What about Ardun Izuniya from FFXV just casually dropping in on ancient Egypt before being whisked away by Bahamut in Assassin's Creed Origins? We didn't even get to fight him...
I think it's been too long, a few years back every branch of Game had a wall of the damn things in their second hand section but they've all gone to landfill like all the old Guitar hero guitars that only work on PS2s
That little gem is called Donkey Konga, and it had a sequel called Donkey Konga 2. There was also another platforming game with which you could use said bongo controller to play the game. That game was known as Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
There is actually a comic book where Indy finds the wreckage of the Millennium Falcon on Earth, complete with Han and Chewbacca skeletons. So the idea of them existing in the same universe is not uncommon.
Jonathan Ewing The Complete Saga has Indiana Jones as an unlockable character. It combines Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 into one larger game. Indiana Jones being unlockable was one of the things they kept from 2.
But still, Ayane's Spirit Stone Flashlight is *ONLY STUNS THE ENEMY FOR MID-TIME* , but, she has the best speed, and also low defense. Is this balanced or nerfed?
I think Ayane also makes an appearance in the Senran Kagura series as DLC. I know she fights all the time and stuff, but at least in the DOA tournament no one tries to hit her so hard her clothes explode.
How about when Ayane was in the Senran Kagura games? Sure fighting ninjas is probably her specialty but these ninjas are all high schoolers and seem to have a weird preference of stripping their enemies of their clothes. She must have not hated it to much if she came back for the water gun tournament in the next game, she even brought some friends.
You know what? Let's flip the script on Mario here. The DS game Mario Hoop 3 on 3 has, along with some classes from the series, a Cactuar from Final Fantasy as a playable character. Okay, I can get some of the classes already being a stretch, but a Cactuar? How could it even hold a ball without popping it on the spot?
"I'd rather be collecting pants." I have a feeling that was either a translation error or intentional change in translation. I am guessing in the original japanese it was パンツ == pantsu which is a loan word which could mean pants or shorts but typically means panties. This is metal gear we are talking about after all.
Heihachi is just an Everyman taken to the extreme, he fights, works, he diciplines his children in over the top ways and he still finds time to have fun He's really someone we all want to be. Minus the diciplining children in over the top ways ofcourse.
Good video but personal I like the count downs with facecam more but I understand you don’t always have the time to do that. Regardless you keep doing great videos like this :)
You seem to forget that Mario's entire deal is jumping. I'd imagine he'd be quite good at basketball. He was actually in his own basketball game on the 3DS, which has a cameo that deserves a place on this list. The Mario Basketball 3DS contains multiple Final Fantasy characters for some reason, including Black Mage, Moogle, and Ninja. I'm not even certain Black Mage has been shown to jump once in the entire series.
Cool video. An unconventional cameo that would have been weird would be Link and Samus appearing in Marvel Ultimate Alliance. There is some footage of a prototype of the game that contained Link and Samus as playable characters. Unfortunately this never came to be due to licencing issues.
I'm surprised Snake wasn't relieved to have something as normal as shooting and collecting cartoon apes, considering some of the other stuff that goes on in that game.
In SMT: Nocturne, Dante from Devil May Cry isa demon hunter hired by demons in an alternate dimension, but all of the demons have hopes and dreams and all of the humans are arguably the bad guys. *featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series meme intensifies*
Whoever used that panty and stocking /teddyloid song 'Juice' in the donkey kong part of the intro. Good on you for music taste, that OST is brilliant, that can't have really been in that game surely?
Speaking of bizarre cameos in a Metal Gear Solid game, I can't remember which entry in the series it was (it was either Snake Eater, Peace Walker, or Guns of the Patriots), but there was a side mission in the game where you had to hunt the monsters from the Monster Hunter series on a remote island.
The last place I ever expected Mario and Luigi to cameo would be the Sapienza level of Hitmsn 2016! I don't think we'll be seeing much more of them after 47 was through. **shudders**
+outsidexbox XD I was expecting Goku to make a guest appearance at the end of the video. that would've fallen into ur pattern of making a joke about the video title at the end of the video.
This is kind of a strange video, and I think it's because it's literally just Jane giving voiceover the entire time without the talking heads in the chair. I really hope this isn't a new direction Outside XBox is planning on going in with their videos!
This list was about video game characters making cameos in other games, not movie or comic book characters. Which is why Darth Maul and Spider-Man don't qualify.
I really loved seeing the crew of Skies of Arcadia in Valkyria Chronicles. Not sure that took any of them out of their comfort zones. Vyse looked quite comfortable using an assault rifle instead of a cutlass.
Here's one! Top ten collectibles that we're worth it in the end. I can give you one. The Simpsons game, if you collected more collectibles, it made your ability bar increase exponentially.
I'm pretty sure that Cassandra would be further out of her comfort zone if she's playing tennis than Heihachi would be. Mostly because that matchup would require her to travel about 500 years into the future and play a sport that I'm fairly certain didn't exist back in her time.
In the minigame of metal gear solid 3 of ape escape snake says " for this mission you can't send sam or gabe" referencing sam fisher (splinter cell) gabe logan (syphon filter)
Mario, luigi and peach are professional: volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, and dodgeball players, don’t forget that time they played soccer with a C4 and that other time they played baseball together
How about Han Solo or Indiana Jones in Mercenaries? Neither one seems real qualified to play bounty hunter. One is a galactic smuggler (not a really good one) and the other is an archaeologist (not a really good one). Maybe they are trying out a career change?
Come on, guys. The Donkey Kong that kidnapped Pauline was Cranky Kong. The version of DK we are mostly familiar with is Junior. This is common knowledge by now.
I agree. But I like the song more when it's in Saint's Row 4, but, you know what they say, dude: "a good song's a good song, regardless of where you hear it!" But I think it fits more in SR4, because you get superpowers in that game, so in SR4, you really DO have, "The Touch". But mainly, the power.
Ayane is originally from the Dead or Alive series. DOA and DOA 2 were released BEFORE the Ninja Gaiden games. Ryu Hyabusa originated from Ninja Gaiden on the NES in 1987
I think Donkey Kong was something of an "Ascended Meme". He was in the audience in the first game, and there was a - false - rumor among fans that he was an opponent. So, for Super Punch Out, they kinda said "why not?" and put him there as a surprise.
let hope she doesnt get her two jobs mixed up. Slitting a porn actresses throat and giving a mafia boss a BJ seem like they'd make you the laughing stock of both industries. I can jsut picture her trying to stab some guy, only to realize it's a dilod and not a knife and she's like "If the dildo's here, the what did I use on Sakura last night? MIND BLOWN
Judging from who he is talking to that's Solid Snake
It is Big Boss before he became Big Boss. His code name was Naked Snake for this mission. Solid was still in his daddy's trouser snake at this stage.
Technically, he never was. Being a clone, Solid Snake would have been at this point a random cell in Big Boss's body. Maybe his hair. Or stomach.
I'm mad I can't give ya 2 thumbs up for that one

In SMT: Nocturne, Dante from Devil May Cry isa demon hunter hired by demons in an alternate dimension, but all of the demons have hopes and dreams and all of the humans are arguably the bad guys. *featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series meme intensifies*
i wasnt expecting a monty python sketch to be here.
cmdraftbrn nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
you had one with the loo wang banta/troll sim with the dead parrott! it was just poorly executed
This list is ridiculous ! They all perfectly fit in these games !
Whoever used that panty and stocking /teddyloid song 'Juice' in the donkey kong part of the intro. Good on you for music taste, that OST is brilliant, that can't have really been in that game surely?
Speaking of bizarre cameos in a Metal Gear Solid game, I can't remember which entry in the series it was (it was either Snake Eater, Peace Walker, or Guns of the Patriots), but there was a side mission in the game where you had to hunt the monsters from the Monster Hunter series on a remote island.
frankly, I think hearing snake say "hot damsel in distress" unironically is more uncomfortable than the apes themselves
I remember Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal made a cameo in an early Hot Shots Golf title
True that???
Yep, Hot Shots Golf 2~ Apparently it had Gex and Sir Daniel from MediEvil as well
It’s funny cause Ayana appeared in the Senran Kagura series, though I wouldn’t say that’s outside of her comfort zone, given her um colorful history.
Johnny as dungeon master?
I'm pretty sure he was ready to kill someone by end of your liveshow.
Mario, Luigi and Peach in Gamecube SSX On Tour.
Eddie T. Head in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4.
This is kind of a strange video, and I think it's because it's literally just Jane giving voiceover the entire time without the talking heads in the chair. I really hope this isn't a new direction Outside XBox is planning on going in with their videos!
Darth Maul in Tony Hawk?
Spider Man in Tony Hawk.
I'm pretty sure Maul is pretty comfortable in Tony Hawk being a force-using, acrobatic Sith and all.
Tony Hawk games have sooooo many weird skaters. my favorite was the giant hand.
This list was about video game characters making cameos in other games, not movie or comic book characters. Which is why Darth Maul and Spider-Man don't qualify.
David Dorsey is right. This is about cases where it's a cameo that has in-universe reasons why it's awkward.
I absolutely love the reenactment of the dead parrot scene from Monty python's flying circus!
In the last video, Andy got hit in the troath with a football, and now Jane's doing the lists. Where do we send the flowers?
“Commencing Operation: Snake Ape” is my new catchphrase
I love Shadow warrior from the 90's I'll never forget his "WHO WANT SOME WANG!" as he's slicing the demons to ribbons!
I guess Donkey Kong found himself a new princess with Mac.
hey, Ayane shirt makes sense now. how else are the ghost going to read her tattoos?
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL
The Tony Hawk games are very much known for their guest characters. One of them had Iron Man in it on his hovering skateboard.
Not that dude from Final Fantasy who appeared in AC Origins? Dissapointed
What doesn't, the comment or the fact that you can ride a Chocobo as a camel, and have Ardyn from Final Fantasy XV to pop up?
Winchester MC-NL I was just going to comment this, but I wasn't sure since I didn't play the new AC. It was Aryden, I believe.
Winchester MC-NL I think they mentioned it in another list. Maybe that is why
To be fair, aren't AC flashbacks technically video games even in their own universe?
could be canon because of the whole locked away thing
"So can I...." "No, Snake, you can't eat the monkeys!"
What about Doom Guy in every Zelda game, and Link in every DOOM game!? It's almost like they are the same person!
I'm pretty sure that Cassandra would be further out of her comfort zone if she's playing tennis than Heihachi would be. Mostly because that matchup would require her to travel about 500 years into the future and play a sport that I'm fairly certain didn't exist back in her time.
How is the only one I knew about the Punch Out!! one?! Those are hilarious! :-)
One of my favorite, albeit unexpected cameos was Darth Maul in THPS 3. He at least got way more air time there than he did in The Phantom Menace...
In the minigame of metal gear solid 3 of ape escape snake says " for this mission you can't send sam or gabe" referencing sam fisher (splinter cell) gabe logan (syphon filter)
Mario, luigi and peach are professional: volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, and dodgeball players, don’t forget that time they played soccer with a C4 and that other time they played baseball together
you nailed this one
"Oh sir!"? Wow, didn't expect to see that game.
Did jane finally take over the whole show? fantastic.
Who says it was cranky kong?
@@atomic747 Conversations with Cranky Kong in the various games.
Zack makes me happy we share a name. Has his own island, and a jetpack. Im just sad I'll never be as perfect as him.
- Isaac Clarke in NBA Jam
- Link in Soul Caliber II
- Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Predator in Call of Duty: Ghosts
You've got the touch
YOU'VE GOT THE POOOWAAAAAAAAAR
Got distracted from the video topic, the song is that awesome.
I agree. But I like the song more when it's in Saint's Row 4, but, you know what they say, dude: "a good song's a good song, regardless of where you hear it!" But I think it fits more in SR4, because you get superpowers in that game, so in SR4, you really DO have, "The Touch". But mainly, the power.
@@shawnfields2369 YEAH. SR4 did it right.
@@nintendohandheld9556 Thanks. And you're goddamned right.
Ayame gets around, though. She was in Ninja Gaiden as well.
And Warriors Orochi
This video is great and all but I love seeing you guys and gals
Ayane is originally from the Dead or Alive series. DOA and DOA 2 were released BEFORE the Ninja Gaiden games. Ryu Hyabusa originated from Ninja Gaiden on the NES in 1987
Man, I expected Isaac Clark in Skate 3. It must be difficult pulling an Ollie in a heavy metal suit.
One of my favourites is the villan from Final Fantasy 15 showing up in Assassins Creed Origins. Chocobo camel and awesome sword and shield combo :D
I think Donkey Kong was something of an "Ascended Meme". He was in the audience in the first game, and there was a - false - rumor among fans that he was an opponent. So, for Super Punch Out, they kinda said "why not?" and put him there as a surprise.
Me playing Aliens: Colonial Marines was the most nonsensical cameo of all. What was I doing there??
Final fantasy XIV's Behemoth showing up in my Monster Hunter World definitely took me out of my comfort zone, that's for sure..
wait ayane is a ninja? i thought she was a star in the adult film industry
She can be 2 things.
let hope she doesnt get her two jobs mixed up. I guess that explains why she's not returning my calls..."
Depends on the website.
Lorias you mean 3 things right? Ninja, volleyball player, and... pornstar.
Every girl of DOA is a pornstar.
Even Marie Rose.
