I like that u guys keep us updated on your son. Its pretty cool that you guys do a full on family thing here its not just all abby. I know this is a channel about parenting someone who is different but its pretty cool that you guys present it as this is just how the family works and that leaves it open to whatever you guys wanna post. UA-cam recommended one of your videos to me and so thats how i ended up here. Even though in my daily life i dont deal with anyone who has autism i do deal with some other things. Watching you guys helps give me some perspective and seeing how loving you are as you raise your kids is inspiring.

Those safari animals were cool. The deer were beautiful! Oh my gosh! I totally pack in ziploc bags and label everything also! It just makes packing so much easier. Especially if you are going somewhere for several days, just having outfits labeled for each day and in separate bags is so helpful

As a kid, I can remember my parents sending me off to Muscular Dystrophy Association Camp. It was the most amazing week of my life each year. Mom worried herself sick and I was having a blast!! ❤
The amount of emotion your daughter shows floors me every time , I work in a school for autistic children in the UK and these last term I’ve been working with a girl whose family hVe chosen ABA. I laughed and smiled so much through this video BECAUSE I can relate so much “given up on parenting” - when you were left in target with raised hands stRing in disbelief oh good Lord I had tears (so me). For a young person to be a buddy for a week for someone with such significant needs is such an admirable thing to take on and I have (although I’ve never met them) the utmost respect for them - big time. I work with toddlers everyday (and I know it’s not the same as your situation at all but...) my coworker and I deal with our kids taking their shoes off all the time and refusing to listen. What we have been trying is incorporating it into our routine. For example we’ll say that they can keep their shoes off for a few stories or a certain amount of time or give them rewards for putting their shoes back on. I completely understand that it’s not the same thing as having a child with special needs but that’s what works for me! Just a thought! I discovered your channel maybe a week ago and have fell in love with your processes and your mindset on the situation! Keep up the great work!!!!!
Richmond VA here Used to work in an group home for kids with autism and the kids favorite trip was that safari. We’d go at least once a month. Some very funny experiences there

I just found your channel after feeling helpless and frustrated. I'm a 21 y/o mother , with 2 autistic , non verbal toddlers ( 3 & 4) My daughter is more progressed in her classic autism and she has combined sensory issues and ADHD. She gets so frustrated with being non verbal , that she literally just screams and is destructive 80% of her day. Watching your family makes me feel a lot more at ease, knowing I'm not the only one going through this. Is your daughter 100% non verbal? My children are in multiple therapies , but speech therapy hasn't helped them at all. My daughter can't even point to express her needs or wants, and it's a very helpless feeling , as a mother, nor being able to help or ease her child's screams. Any advice on how to stop her non stop screaming/wanting to be destructive is greatly appreciated!!!!!!
I'm not a mom, and I don't have much experience with children with autism, so I don't have any advice to give you. I wanted to comment anyway and tell you that you are doing a great job :) I have a friend who has two little ones who are only a year apart, I have seen how exhausting it can be. Just always remember that you know what's best for your babies and for your family. It shows such strength that you are honest with what you are feeling and reaching out for advice and help. You're a good mama and I wish all the best to you and your little ones.
Allie Babydoll patience is a virtue seriously be patient as much as you possibly can it's very hard I know I have an 8 year old autistic son your not alone at all rocking the spectrum is another good channel stay strong and try to depict what makes them tick.
I have a 5 year old daughter with autism. Two things have helped beyond belief in my experience: a gluten-free casein-free diet (and casein is dairy basically), and also probiotics. Give strong probiotics every single day. Since I started the diet and probiotics, my daughter has improved so much. She stopped grunting, started responding to her name, making eye contact, and talking some. Now she's still improving with her special ed preschool and she's starting to say two+ word sentences. But if I even forget one day of probiotics, her autistic behavior gets worse. She starts grunting again, gets frustrated easily, and so on. There's such a huge connection between the brain and the gut. It's crazy. But it's definitely worth the try. I've heard to try the diet, you should do it 100% for at least 6 months before making a decision. But I seen results right away. But I've also been told the younger the child when you start, the more impact it will make, and I caught it young with my daughter and put her on the diet right away. But yours are still young too, so give it a try. Good luck!!! 😊
I have a autistic daughter. She is 6 1/2 now. She was nonverbal with all other symptoms of autism. She was very badly aggressive to herself. When I got the diagnose with 4 years I wanted a solution for her and for a better future for her. After long research and work with biomedical doctors I started the gaps diet. 3 weeks after the gaps diet she started to speak.today she has mild autism. Almost all symptoms gone. Because I started so early with a gut healing diet, detoxing her body and speech therapy and other therapies she is almost neurotypical now. autism will never But she can manage her life much better now. Autism starts the the mother is very toxic. It begins in the womb and if you have a autistic child start to heal yourself and detox you body before getting pregnant again. And get enough vitamins like vitamin b.

I'm kind of amazed at the support you've found in our community. I live in Neptune Beach, my daughter attends CSS at Mayport. She's 5 yrs old, now. She's been attending Mayport CSS since, 2015. There's only a couple of girls, with ASD, there. Certainly, none that are as young as my daughter. Also, my girl is NV/GDD/Echolaic/Classical ASD. I wish there was more support in the community, for little girls like my, Zoë. Maybe as parents we could figure out a way to create activities and groups for girls on the autism spectrum. Locally. There's a lot of families here, that would benefit.
Some of the best times I had as a kid was at camp. It's fun getting to decide your activities and experience new things at your own pace. Camp is contained so as a kid you feel free getting to pick if you're going to the craft hut or playground or to the lake but still in a safe environment. Sometimes just getting to choose that you're swimming in the lake verses going to the playground makes it more fun. My parents were very controlling and especially as I got older being controlled even in free time was really frustrating. (Also I think it's great that you let her go. I have friends with kids that have disabilities that are afraid to send their kids to camp even if it's one designed for kids with special needs.)
I had never seen the hand stem until I started watching your videos. My 7 year old son is high functioning autistic and he does the hand stimming. and I just wanted to say thank you for all of your videos.

I totally love Abby! Even though I have high functioning autism she is just so relatable to me. A lot of the stuff she does and how she does things is very similar to what I do/How I do things. Especially the similarity in stims we have which makes me feel less embarrassed about mine knowing that Im not alone. Such an amazing family,Please don't stop doing these videos...At least for awhile,I live for them :)

Hearing you say Isaiah is 15 just blew my mind, I knew he was but something about when you said it out loud was just crazy to me because he's so mature for his age. I hope Abbie has a great time at camp, it sounds so nice, hopefully you and Priscilla have a nice relaxing vacation. So, I decided to try the THC CBD oil for myself so I could let you know how it was, well, the one with THC was way too intense for me, I felt even more anxiety on it and it did not help me sleep at all, it even gave me a migraine, I know everyone is different. I can smoke it with no issue but I've never been able to eat edibles and it felt the same way, I wouldn't give it to Jocelyn. Now the regular CBD oil with no THC is wonderful, it makes me feel very clear headed, and anxiety free, but it does not feel like a drug, I just feel very normal when I take it, that I would recommend although I can't really see it making a huge difference with autism, but who knows. For the Reg CBD I took a full dropper, for the THC one I took 1/4 of a dropper, that's how strong it is! 😳 Christina
The Forestas CBD is truly a miracle, I give it to my dog for her seizures. Cookie hasn't had a seizure in about 7 months...they need to just legalize it already so more testing can happen, I bet we are just at the tip of the iceberg with what it can do!

I get stared at when I'm having panic attack in public. It angers me and makes it worse but if I put myself in their shoes I mean they see someone flipping out and acting strange. It's natural for them to look to see if you're alright. People that secertly record you or laugh are another thing...

Hello I've been enjoying your blog of your life with Abbie. You mentioned she is going to a catholic camp. I'm so excited for her. I would love to tell you our story with Asperger's syndrome with my nephew Adam who is 33 now. He is the joy of my life. Thank you for sharing her life and how it makes you closer as a family.
How precious is his defying stare at the restaurant. That's such an intense eye contact. Your baby girl will always be your baby girl, but don't forget she's now a teen, and autism, I think, don't spare from teen issues, coming from biological hormonal changes. BTW, I just admire you in your heavy duty as parents, you are doing good and always try to think about what's best for her. Right to this, I noticed one point : the "good girl", or "you're doing good". Why don't replace it by common gratification like "thank you"? For instance when she puts the pot back after you asked her to, which is just a normal thing, not a performance (even if it's for us to see her complying with such orders). It's more likely to insert her into the common communication mode. I think, it could be more valuable to make a difference between exercises, where you can say she's a good girl doing well, and the everyday life, which is not a training moment, and gets rules, and she can be thanked as everyone, when she simply follow the rules.
I have only watched like 10 vlogs so far of yours and just love Abby already. She has beautiful hair, beautiful smile, cute fashion, she is so smart and it makes me laugh when she gives you attitude. I enjoy watching the dynamic of your family and your content is helping me understand my nephews behaviors. He has autism and I really want to connect with him more when he visits for the Holidays. I also want to know how to communicate more with him. I am trying like hell to figure out which activities he would like and come up with ideas for gifts to give him. The last two years I have made him soft blankets so am thinking of doing that again and making some sensory toys as well. He is turning 17 this year and last year I got him to blow his bday candles out for the very first time and then he opened presents too! He has never done all that before! I can tell my nephew responds well to me and I am very intuitive so that helps me naturally know what he wants. I am hoping to get better at my connection with him so he can enjoy more new milestones in life! I love him so much. I am trying so hard to educate myself on his needs. Thanks for doing these vlogs.

My college gave me a packing list. Also a long list of prohibitive items like guns, microwaves, pets unless they're a fish. You know, the usual. I went to the Virginia Safari Park just a couple months ago. Did not feed the animals though. I was with my mom and my sister. My mom freaked out the whole time.

Yes, you can usually go places like the container store and some college sites to get a packing list for what most kids need while staying in the the dorms at those colleges. No worries, it helped me with my daughter a ton. If you need help reach out I’ve sent 8 kids and have 5 more to go 😘

ALSO: Have you told her "buddy" that her iPad/iphone are in waterproof cases but that they ARENT waterproof? This is pretty important as the buddy might think that they are waterproof. Don't want to break the iPad/iphone during camp!

I have a autistic daughter. She is 6 1/2 now. She was nonverbal with all other symptoms of autism. She was very badly aggressive to herself. When I got the diagnose with 4 years I wanted a solution for her and for a better future for her. After long research and work with biomedical doctors I started the gaps diet. 3 weeks after the gaps diet she started to speak.today she has mild autism. Almost all symptoms gone. Because I started so early with a gut healing diet, detoxing her body and speech therapy and other therapies she is almost neurotypical now. autism will never But she can manage her life much better now. Autism starts the the mother is very toxic. It begins in the womb and if you have a autistic child start to heal yourself and detox you body before getting pregnant again. And get enough vitamins like vitamin b.

I'm kind of amazed at the support you've found in our community. I live in Neptune Beach, my daughter attends CSS at Mayport. She's 5 yrs old, now. She's been attending Mayport CSS since, 2015. There's only a couple of girls, with ASD, there. Certainly, none that are as young as my daughter. Also, my girl is NV/GDD/Echolaic/Classical ASD. I wish there was more support in the community, for little girls like my, Zoë. Maybe as parents we could figure out a way to create activities and groups for girls on the autism spectrum. Locally. There's a lot of families here, that would benefit.

Some of the best times I had as a kid was at camp. It's fun getting to decide your activities and experience new things at your own pace. Camp is contained so as a kid you feel free getting to pick if you're going to the craft hut or playground or to the lake but still in a safe environment. Sometimes just getting to choose that you're swimming in the lake verses going to the playground makes it more fun. My parents were very controlling and especially as I got older being controlled even in free time was really frustrating. (Also I think it's great that you let her go. I have friends with kids that have disabilities that are afraid to send their kids to camp even if it's one designed for kids with special needs.)
I had never seen the hand stem until I started watching your videos. My 7 year old son is high functioning autistic and he does the hand stimming. and I just wanted to say thank you for all of your videos.
im aspergers. watching this you have the one thing that all humans should have, patience and true care. i know at times my mom still gives me hugs even when im down and as a 32 year old adult who lives on his own-it means alot.

One of my favorite things about this world is that no matter what, difference in language, ability, ethnicity, etc., all kids are the same in some ways. I'm sure every parent has had some version of the "get your (insert article of clothing here) back on" discussion lol.

I totally love Abby! Even though I have high functioning autism she is just so relatable to me. A lot of the stuff she does and how she does things is very similar to what I do/How I do things. Especially the similarity in stims we have which makes me feel less embarrassed about mine knowing that Im not alone. Such an amazing family,Please don't stop doing these videos...At least for awhile,I live for them :)

Hearing you say Isaiah is 15 just blew my mind, I knew he was but something about when you said it out loud was just crazy to me because he's so mature for his age. I hope Abbie has a great time at camp, it sounds so nice, hopefully you and Priscilla have a nice relaxing vacation. So, I decided to try the THC CBD oil for myself so I could let you know how it was, well, the one with THC was way too intense for me, I felt even more anxiety on it and it did not help me sleep at all, it even gave me a migraine, I know everyone is different. I can smoke it with no issue but I've never been able to eat edibles and it felt the same way, I wouldn't give it to Jocelyn. Now the regular CBD oil with no THC is wonderful, it makes me feel very clear headed, and anxiety free, but it does not feel like a drug, I just feel very normal when I take it, that I would recommend although I can't really see it making a huge difference with autism, but who knows. For the Reg CBD I took a full dropper, for the THC one I took 1/4 of a dropper, that's how strong it is! 😳 Christina
The Forestas CBD is truly a miracle, I give it to my dog for her seizures. Cookie hasn't had a seizure in about 7 months...they need to just legalize it already so more testing can happen, I bet we are just at the tip of the iceberg with what it can do!

I get stared at when I'm having panic attack in public. It angers me and makes it worse but if I put myself in their shoes I mean they see someone flipping out and acting strange. It's natural for them to look to see if you're alright. People that secertly record you or laugh are another thing...

Hello I've been enjoying your blog of your life with Abbie. You mentioned she is going to a catholic camp. I'm so excited for her. I would love to tell you our story with Asperger's syndrome with my nephew Adam who is 33 now. He is the joy of my life. Thank you for sharing her life and how it makes you closer as a family.

How precious is his defying stare at the restaurant. That's such an intense eye contact. Your baby girl will always be your baby girl, but don't forget she's now a teen, and autism, I think, don't spare from teen issues, coming from biological hormonal changes.
BTW, I just admire you in your heavy duty as parents, you are doing good and always try to think about what's best for her. Right to this, I noticed one point : the "good girl", or "you're doing good". Why don't replace it by common gratification like "thank you"? For instance when she puts the pot back after you asked her to, which is just a normal thing, not a performance (even if it's for us to see her complying with such orders). It's more likely to insert her into the common communication mode. I think, it could be more valuable to make a difference between exercises, where you can say she's a good girl doing well, and the everyday life, which is not a training moment, and gets rules, and she can be thanked as everyone, when she simply follow the rules.

I have only watched like 10 vlogs so far of yours and just love Abby already. She has beautiful hair, beautiful smile, cute fashion, she is so smart and it makes me laugh when she gives you attitude. I enjoy watching the dynamic of your family and your content is helping me understand my nephews behaviors. He has autism and I really want to connect with him more when he visits for the Holidays. I also want to know how to communicate more with him. I am trying like hell to figure out which activities he would like and come up with ideas for gifts to give him. The last two years I have made him soft blankets so am thinking of doing that again and making some sensory toys as well. He is turning 17 this year and last year I got him to blow his bday candles out for the very first time and then he opened presents too! He has never done all that before! I can tell my nephew responds well to me and I am very intuitive so that helps me naturally know what he wants. I am hoping to get better at my connection with him so he can enjoy more new milestones in life! I love him so much. I am trying so hard to educate myself on his needs. Thanks for doing these vlogs.

My Annabelle stays overnight at her daycare teachers place once a week as I don't have respite in yet, I individually bag all her clothes for bedtime and the next day 😂 and pack her sensory favourites too.
My college gave me a packing list. Also a long list of prohibitive items like guns, microwaves, pets unless they're a fish. You know, the usual. I went to the Virginia Safari Park just a couple months ago. Did not feed the animals though. I was with my mom and my sister. My mom freaked out the whole time.

Yes, you can usually go places like the container store and some college sites to get a packing list for what most kids need while staying in the the dorms at those colleges. No worries, it helped me with my daughter a ton. If you need help reach out I’ve sent 8 kids and have 5 more to go 😘

Liked the video! It was funny when Abbie was like "nope" when she was told to put on her shoes. ALSO: Have you told her "buddy" that her iPad/iphone are in waterproof cases but that they ARENT waterproof? This is pretty important as the buddy might think that they are waterproof. Don't want to break the iPad/iphone during camp!
