Hey fam! Just wanted to keep you all in the loop since this has been my latest upload in a while. For those worried about me- my family has been healthy and happy, and that's the most important thing in the world to me. I've been incredibly busy with the following:
1) Parenting! I always want to be active and present in my little one's life right now. It's a full time job!
2) My "real" full-time job: I've been working as a Talent Manager helping run fundraisers for the Gamers Outreach Charity all of 2023. Check out our events throughout each year! It's a ton of fun working on the "other" side of Content Creation.
I still have a lot of silly and awesome ideas for future videos, but for the first time in a long time making videos has become one of my hobbies instead of a full-time job. While I can't promise a timeline for future uploads, I can confirm that I still work on scripts, footage, and editing from time to time still 😉. You can usually find any updates from me on Twitter/"X".
Thank you so much for all of your support over the years! It means the world to me that my videos have meant something to so many, and I hope that everyone watching has an incredible day.
Good to hear you and the family are doing well! youve carved out your spot on the platform as an OG so no matter what youll always have good folks eyes and ears on anything you upload when the time comes
Huh, just randomly checked this almost right after you posted it. I was curious where you had been an didn't realize over a year had passed honestly. Glad to hear you're still making stuff because you like to!
miss your vids a lot josh :) been following for over a decade! glad to see everything is going well and your career and family is thriving
Glad to hear you're well! Thanks for being a massive part of my childhood! Hope to see more from you in the future too!
Glad to hear you're gonna ease back into some more casual video making. The people yearn for the return of WittzGaming
My favorite Violent Violet dex entry for an old Pokémon is for Palossand: "From the hollows in its arms, it fires the bones of its victims, which are all dried up after being drained of their vitality."
...that is WAY darker than I expected.
gen 7 pokemon are something else
Why is every Alola Pokémon a killer?
@@SandwitchZebra Hawaii is as close to Australia you can get while not being in Australia, of course pokemon from that region would be murderers
That's absolutely ruthless
I know you only focused on new Pokémon in this one, but you're sleeping on Hatterene's newest entry in Violet: "Beware of forests that show no signs of living creatures within. You may have wandered into Hatterene's territory."
O_O That is terrifying
I love that one, he should definitely do a third (or fourth) video of this focusing on updated entries for old Pokemon
Yeah that's pretty creepy
He really is sleeping on plenty of older Pokémon this time. Yeah, I'd like a third video for that.
Make sure you don't scream, or you'll be torn apart
It’s not an actual Pokédex entry, but my favorite new Pokémon fact is about Iron Hands. If you read a bookshelf inside Professor Turo’s lighthouse, it says that he’s actually not even a Pokémon at all, but rather just an athlete from the future who was in a horrific accident, and had to be rebuilt robocop style. Apparently it’s just a coincidence that it also looks like Hariyama
My favorite is that Hydreigon and a Robot had a child that turned into Iron Jugulis.
@@indumatipngtuber2790don’t forget iron valiant, the fighting/fairy, supposedly being the ultimate creation of a mad scientist wanting to make strongest psychic type, yknow, the one type it failed to carry from its precursors
Edit: my mistake, that information comes from theory in occulture book in violet, not scarlet’s crazy entry for it
@@bluegem8582 no the ultimate psychic type Pokémon is Mewtwo
@@sonic23233 This is basically the meme, "The future is now, old man."
Wow the future has a *lot* of horrifically injured athletes that need to be rebuilt into Hariyama looking Iron Hands
I like how in annihilapes entry, it died when its rage became too much for its physical body to hold, then realized it was too angry to die and just went even further beyond like super sayian 3.
It's literally Akuma from Street Fighter
No way Doom Guy real
Gear 5 except fueled by Anger
Got me thinking of Terra, given how his Rage was what let Xeahnort take over his body.... and then let him animate the Lingering Will to life right after so he could continue smacking Xeahnort down even though his body was lost.
MAN TOO ANGRY TO DIE
"I know where the little one comes from" is both the funniest, and creepiest thing J Witts has ever said. It sounds like something straight out of a horror movie.
lol true
Honestly creepier than any of the pokedex entries
😢 5:05 😅😮😢😮😅
The salt lick thing is also based in reality. Farmers and game farm owners put out blocks of salt for animals to lick
Don't cows, deer, moose, and caribou like it?
here's a morbid non-pokémon fact : salt licks , because of how many animals visit them , are often the perpetrators of the spread of chronic wasting disease , also known as zombie deer disease . according to wikipedia , it is always fatal .
There’s often problems caused by moose licking cars covered on road salt on snowy areas.
@@leodotlol Oh wow. People tend to forget humans aren't the only ones who can spread disease. I'd be like if we had a big kissing party with dozens of people and then wondered why everyone got sick.
@@ShinyElGhosteo
Got to sneak a lick in before the metal runs away again.
So Skeledirge basically soothes its enemies by singing and when their guard is down, it burns them to a crisp. That is pretty badass.
Well as long as the death is soothing I guess
the cooler Jigglypuff
That's what mine does.
@@cobaltordinaire5219 you mean hotter
As in fire
4:09 I think it actually does make sense. In chess, the king’s gambit is a semi-popular move that is known to be a bit…well…stupid.
Funny thing is, the Scarlet entry for Maushold's Family of Four is pretty much the same thing, just replace "little one" with "little ones".
Nah I think you just found the other form of maushold. There's the family of three and family of four, similar to how you can get different deerling colors.
@@beaniebaby7725
Did they re-implement seasons to trigger the Deerling forms again?
@@KimFareseedthey did, it all depends on which area you find it in
@@KimFareseed yep, if you have a deerling or sawsbuck in your party, it will change form to match the area you are in when you open the game
@@KimFareseed Yep! Several pokemom have forms too. Like sinistea has the antique and phony, tatsugiri has different colors, mimikyu has a normal and a busted form, etc
I was sad when I read jumpluffs entry : “Jumpluff travels on seasonal winds. Once its cotton spores run out, its journey ends, as does its life.”
I will cherish my Jumpluff, so it spends its final days happy.
"Now men, group up and hit it til' it dies!"
- Kingambit, probably
1:12 This one is the epidemy of "I can be your angel or your devil." I like to imagine it burns something to death and then sings to its soul afterward, and they immediately forget that they just died an agonising death.
Epitome*
You gotta appreciate Skeledirge for trying its best joint impression of Altaria and Drampa.
reminds me of Swampert's dex entry (featured before on this series for ORAS)
on the one hand, Swole Brute
on the other, Absolute chill on the beach
complete 180
4:21 As a Spanish person, I can confirm this. Sometimes on REALLY windy days, a lot of biiiig tumbleweeds end up in my town covering the streets. And it's a little scary, I remember when I was little and I was going down a street a really big one came right at me and I had to dodge it, it was almost my size! Thankfully it doesn't happen often.
Yikes. That's terrifying.
Does that really happen in Spain
@@sonic23233 In my town it does, since it's close to bare land. But it's not like everything get buried, it's just that you can see a lot of tumbleweeds on the streets, and they're big
@@sonic23233...pretty sure they're talking about Mexico.
now imagine these tumbleweeds are sentient ghosts...
that could eat you alive according to scarlet's dex if you get trapped in its weeds.
Ya that's some nightmare fuel
Honestly these videos are my favorite part of a new gen
I think it would be funny if Maushold was an evolution that looked identical to Tandemaus, and after every battle the amount of children could change, as they bred and released their kids into the wild, mass reproducing like irl pests, since they’re prey to just about everything.
or a normal/ghost evolution that's just the baby mice without the parents
@@dracodracarys2339 normal/ghost without kids
"Mauscarriage"
In Scarlet, the Pokedex entry no longer says that Granger steals only your vitality or life force because now it says that Gengar steals your entire life. Thanks Game Freak.
Thank goodness. I hated it when Hermione Granger stole my life force.
Always reminds you of how BS the Pokedex is, when a Gengar is just casually hanging out with the woman at the Entrance Hall to school.
@@SakuraAvalon That’s because the Gengar is her Pokémon, it’s not wild.
It’s the same thing really. If they steal your life force then theirs no force keeping you alive.
@@Broomer52 In my opinion, stealing your life force is different than stealing your life, i.e. replacing you.
According to Toadscool's entry in Scarlet it sheds the frills on the sides of it's head, this might also apply to Toadscruel, there's also a dish called pickles Toadscool and Cucumbers
Mario: Good, them mfs keep running like a squidward
Another round of creepy rex entries to remind of us how terrifying the Pokémon can be. Who’s ready to get spooked with the classic Pokétuber
🦖
honestly, beginning with SM
it think it's safe to assume
top 10 weird/creepy is no longer enough
top 20 should be the norm since many entries get even more metal as time went on
We need a entire different branch of Pokémon too where they have examples of what they can do to people
I guess Skeledirge and Hisuian Typhlosion would be good pals since Hisiuan Typhlosion guides souls to the afterlife.
so about Garganacl's entry. I remember once watching a documentary about parrots that lick clay walls to get salt from them because they cannot get it from anything they eat, so yeah, that's a thing real animals do
Yeah salt is very hard to come by in nature (outside the ocean which is not drinkable water in exchange) but is an important mineral for most living things, so lots of animals will go for salt if there’s an opportunity. Horses often get salt licks in their paddocks.
The Skeledirge Pokédex entry part got me laughing so hard. Talk about a mood whiplash. 🤣
Here's a surprisingly upsetting one for Hydreigon: "it's said that Hydreigon grew ferocious because people in times long past loathed it, considering it to be evil incarnate and attacking relentlessly."
In other words, Hydreigon is in the Absol situation, but so, so much worse. And as opposed to Absol, which kept its altruistic side, Hydreigon became the monster that so many thought it to be.
The Pokemon reproduce through Pokemon Magic, that is, the eggs just show up from nowhere. That's very evident now because the breeding now happens during picnic. The two parent Pokemon have been sitting many feet apart, and I have just been running around or whatever, and then the egg just shows up.
You can also find eggs with only one parent pokemon
@@chaiseshinn3066 Oh.
Well that brings up a number of questions...
Maybe magic rituals are conducted
@@lasercraft32 asexual reproduction
@@fishyfishyfishy500akabs8 Perhaps every Pokemon is just Ditto... :o
The abrupt ending had no right to make me laugh like that lmao
For those who are wondering where the Hell is Jwittz, he has a baby and is a stay at home dad. Children eat away all your time. Especially when they reach 2 years old. I've seen plenty of UA-camrs end up going on and off for months or years because of their kid.
Makes a whole lotta sense
LMAO, that Maushold one is just like "they're a family, but it is unclear if they're a family"
Like... what?
"Clearly, they're a family... or are they?"
- VSauce 2022
I think people think to much when talking about Tandemaus, they are lab rats, that’s what they represent, they are not breeding with each other, they breed normally like other Pokémon, through the eggs system, however the implication here is that Tandemaus adopt random unpaired maus, thus making them a Maushold, literally feeding into the "they appear out of nowhere" narrative for PESTS
@@PossibleBat Oh dang, that's fascinating. The inspiration behind Pokemon like this is amazing and often goes way deeper than most would think. I'd never even considered that!
Maushold is just adding into the can of worms of Pokémon consisting of multiple individuals, like Dugtrio, Magneton, Exeggcute, and Falinks.
The best part is if Tandemaus doesn't actively participate in battle when it reaches level 25, Maushold will just be in your party with no warning.
It's my favorite of the bunch.
The entire about the roller evolution for scarlet was pretty creepy but I think you need to read the violet entry. The where it talks about an infant sleeping in the ball it's rolling with it's feet. Apparently it's rocking this infant keeping it asleep. Idk about you but I kind wonder what would happen if it stopped.
Scp 273 (I think. The daughters of the scarlet king)
My favorite dex entry in Violet for an old mon is Eiscue's. "If you lick the ice covering its face, you'll find it has a faintly salty taste. This species rode here on ocean currents from a cold, faraway land." I mean, other Pokemon licking Garganacl is one thing, but WHO'S LICKING THEIR OWN POKEMON'S FACE?
Most likely kids or curious scientists
Someone, somewhere, has definitely got their tongue stuck on their Eiscue's face.
@@jasondahfolf4325 Scientist can tell a lot about certain materials by licking them if I've watched enough videos on certain science fields like geology
So what you’re telling me is that this is an invasive species?
@@brawler5760 Invasive implies their presence is throwing off the ecosystem. A species can originate from another place and not be considered invasive.
Fun fact: Palafin, the evolution of Finizen, is inspired by a folkloric creature called the "Boto cor-de-rosa", a pink dolphin that sometimes turns into a handsome man and goes after females, after the process, he rejects humanity and returns to being a dolphin.
Also based on the superhero trope
Skeledirge's Violet entry is the definition of mood whiplash.
Kinda like Swampert’s entry in FireRed/LeafGreen. Talk about a complete 180.
Always fun to see what wacky ideas they have
I also enjoy expanding lore on old Pokémon
In my opinion Rabsca’s Violet entry is way creepier: “An infant sleeps inside the ball. Rabsca rolls the ball soothingly with its legs to ensure the infant sleeps comfortably.”
While you interpreted it as reincarnation, this entry makes it sound like the Pokémon draws its energy from an infant that’s NEVER BORN!!! It’s just… trapped inside its egg, eternally, being used as a power source. That creeps me OUT!!!
Gothitelle's Violet entry gave me existential dread I didn't expect.
?
@@nicholasfarrell5981 It’s seen the end of time.
The Violet entry: "It gazes at the stars to predict the future. It acts somewhat detached because it has seen the end of all existence."
And even more terrifying, the Scarlet entry: "Gothitelle unleashes psychic energy and shows opponents dreams of the universe’s end. These dreams are apparently ethereal and beautiful."
i never get tired of Pokemon games having to constantly remind the players that their character is a child
My favorite entry this gen is Violet Hatterene because it explains how it's territory is basically lifeless besides itself. But Swords entry tells us that it gives others migraines to drive them off.
So Hatterene gives everything around it a headache until they all run away, then calls it a day
It's been probably 8 or 9 years since I've visited your channel, but I would genuinely like to thank you for continuing to make content after all these years. your pokemon videos were everything to me as a 9-10 year old and you were the first UA-camr I've ever watched. I hope we may continue to see more content from you in the future, and I'm glad to have rediscovered your content in my adult years.
I'm in stitches again! Kudos to another great video!
Honestly, I like to believe mousehold is just when a random third/fourth smaller tandemouse infiltrates the duo, being a sort of parasite
I am glad you are happy in your life, and I hope it continues to be that way, I simply miss your content very much and can't wait for more content from you. Have a good one!
I love some of these new Pokedex entries
I'm glad your making videos again!
finally watched the first one now that i'm in the postgame of scarlet and this came out perfectly in the middle of that. perfect timing
Jwittz will always have the greatest Pokedex recap vids
I remember watching your videos back in like 2012, it's so nostalgic and heartwarming to see that you're still around dishing out bangers. Hope you're doing well man. (And I just saw you have a kid now! Congratulations! How time flies.)
Youve been my favorite youtuber since like 2012 man keep up the good work
Just wanted to say that I miss your uploads brotha, always enjoyed your videos! Was surprised to see you havent uploaded in a year. Hope all is well in your life and hope to see you come back soon! Much love!
Annihilape is just the "man literally too angry to die" meme
I thought Maushold family of 4 was a normal family while Masuhold family of 3 was meant to represent an adoptive child, hence its mysterious origin.
Family of four is the same. They just had one kid not two
Joshua, oh Joshua, wherefore art thou Joshua?
@Thejwitty....... You didn’t even spell the username right bro, get a life 🤣
Well that was fun while it lasted, he may have vanished from the internet however he shall never be forgotten
Haven’t seen a video in like 5 years I remember the Pokémon cypher and that was tuff me seeing this makes me feel old please keep uploading
I love it so much King!!! Please do more!!
the end of an era
i havent been on this channel for a while, lets go with the chills
I love the ones you chose. Lol I love how Skeledirge makes the list in both Scarlet and Violet. Gotta love Pokemon!
I can’t believe you’ve been going strong for so long. I’ve been watching since, what, 2012 (before I made this account)? I’m betting it was around then since I remember watching you since before I knew much about this. I think I’d bought, or won, a Shinx plush and a Pikachu plush at the local fair. I distinctly remember a Shaymin one as well, never got it or saw it again. We picked up a used copy of platinum and soulsilver, at least that’s what I think happened, because I wanted to find out what the game was. As soon as I could, I caught Shinx and named it STAR-GAZE. Now, a decade later and still got it. Thank you. You and Tamashii were the OGs, thanks for being there for so long. They’re still sitting there, on that cartridge. As soon as I can, I’m gonna transfer them up (maybe use the cloning cheat to keep a piece behind) and put them in SV (or BDSP) so they can be with me again.
The joy that comes with finding out Jwittz has uploaded a new Pokémon video is undescribable
I haven't watched this channel in years lol. I first discovered this channel as a kid and loved it ever since. I'm kinda surprised I forgot about it. Watching this video was like unlocking a secret memory lmao.
I find it whack that one-child Maushold is the rare one
Irl mice breed a lot. That's because they have such a short life span & are actively killed because they're pests. So they breed a lot, early, & fast. So a mouse family not having multiple babies is unusual. The norm should actually have a lot more than 2
I was sad when I learned it was 1/25.
Then I learned it's actually 1/100 🙃
@@TheJWittz is thst the case for 3 segment Dudunsparce as well? Heard it was 1/25
@@centuritron yes, Dudunsparce is also 1/100 for 3-segmented form
Then again Nintendo is Japanese. If Tencent got the rights to the IP (No them working on Pokemon Unite doesn't count) They would make the two kids Maushold variation extinct and have the one child form, be the only one.
Bro... I remember watching your content in 4th grade, super stoked to see you're still doin good! I'm in my third year of university, time flies
Love the video and keep up the great work
Yessss, I knew it was coming! Ofc no notification from yt.
Man it's been a while I used to watch you when I was young
I miss you :( you were one the first youtubers I loved as a kid with your "fact of the day" it's been a long time I miss you making new videos often always a joy to watch and listen to
I swear, at this point, it seems like someone at Nintendo watches your videos and makes sure these types of dex entries are in each game.
And then we never saw him again....
Awesome video. I hope in the future they'll be a creepy Pokedex entires for Go.
Yes! Was waiting for this gen!
it delights me that you’re still around JWittz, and these Dex entries are a glorious return. i’m hopeful you’re still up for some other video formats. i have a soft spot for your breakdowns on the Master Trainer board games, but knowing you cover Nintendo as a whole, im curious if you’ve ever experienced the 1988 Zelda board game from Milton Bradley?
I absolutely love Chien-pao, a literal Sabre-Tooth tiger with sabers for teeth
Raikou: saber-tooth tiger
Fans: "it's dog"
Chien-pao: snow leopard
You: "it's tiger"
You: Pokémon are only based off one thing.
Me: No they're not.
@@gengarzilla1685 Funny thing is in the Turkic-Mongolian Zodiac snow leopard replaces Tiger as a yearly animal
"Why is my pet dolphin making snot jewelry?!" is now in my Bank of Favorite Out-of-Context Quotes.
Love the ending, it's just like the creepy pokedex entries.
Implies something really messed up, refuses to elaborate and leaves.
I think Jwittz outdid himself with the jokes and clever editing this tiem.
Thank you so much! Really makes my day to know that I made people laugh 🥹
I still can’t get over the fact that when jumpluff’s cotton spores run out its journey and life come to an end
5:55
A shame you didn’t get something like a Hello Fresh sponsor, because that segue would’ve been brilliant.
1:49 I did not know that! You got me to learn a new fact!
He's not new but Fraxure's Violet dex entry is pretty messed up too.
"Fraxure uses its thick tusks to neatly cut prey into two portions-one to eat now and one to save for later"
Thank you for this and thank you for the extra research
I didn't know that about dolphins or chillies. And is someone who very good at chemistry I somehow miss that so great work picking that up
I think I fell even more in love with Skeledirge.. What a whiplash. 😆
🤣🤣 This was hilarious! Subscribed! 👌🏾
Toadscruel is such an awesome take on what I've always found to be a rather middling gen 1 Pokemon
I like how Violets entry for Roaring Moon implies it's similarities to mega salamance, similar to how mega aerodactyl is how it actually looked in prehistoric times
A video on my birthday? Jwittz, you shouldn't have! But In all seriousness I love the pokemon for the generation and the wacky and creepy entries! That Tumbleweed one hits way too close to home.
Happy birthday.
@@GatorRay thank you :)
@@sirembrum49thegreatmoth2 You're welcome
Today I recalled when I used to watch Jwittz's Pokemon X & Y videos. Iwas 17ish, didn't have a DS at the time, and I was a bit of a mess. Thanks for bringing me joy. I hope you are okay.
omg I literally did not notice the actual Bellibolt face until now. That is amazing XD
The new Cradily.
I was fully expecting the ending to segue into a hello fresh sponsorship.
Not even an everstone will stop the Tandemaus from sexong and making it a Maushold
and now to quickly check how far i need to scroll in the comments before i find someone else wanting to explain that animals licking salt off minerals is actually a thing and fairly normal.
though in real life said mineral being licked isn't ALSO alive so uh... yeah...
I haven't seen you in awhile
But I'm glad you're the same as ever
Skeledirge actually has to do with death, and songs to do with mourning and funerals. Its ghost typing, being based on themes and content for day of the dead, the "dirge" in the name, and the national dex number being 911 (the emergency hotline in US and Canada).
6:06 today video is brought to you by hello fresh
Tandemaus: "Come and play with us. For eva, and eva, and eva."
3:38 congrats on your maushold
Ah yes... The reason I keep coming back Jwittz
Perfect video
My favorite part of this video was Jwittz chopping the Mushroom.
Not gonna lie, I thought the ending was going to lead to a Hello Fresh ad...nope. Just killin pokemanz
Was thinking about your videos earlier today. Hope you are doing well!
