I had a Jardini (aka Pearl Arowana) which was 2 inches long that grew to a max of 1.5 feet. Tough guy. He lasted 10 years and can go without food for 1 month. But they are suicidal. So watch out of your filter, mine rammed it and the filtered water spilled out of the tank when I was away. Poor fella died of no water by himself. He dared not go near my hand - so as savage as they can be he was afraid of my hand. He ate everything, including lizard, cockroaches on top of his usual diet of fresh water shrimp and fries. My Jardini was tough, it could survive without me putting any anti-chlorine. It is a really tough fish.

Jardinii is not pronounced as "jardeenee". There's an extra 'i'. The specific epithet is a commemorative name hence the extra "i" (there are rules in making scientific names). It's pronounced as "jardeenee-eye".

Hello.
