☑👍Great rendition ‼️❗ this is a really difficult John Denver song to cover both play and sing _ it's the first song that turned me onto JD music back when his first Greatest Hits LP came out and I've been a fan ever since _I tried to learn Rocky Mountain High over the course of many years but finally gave up , for the most part as quick flat picking did not grow into my personal acoustic style _ I can only play and sing some of his milder fingerstyle songs ⁉️ 🎵🎶 🎵 😊😉
I’ve been playing this song for years............ wrong. Now that I’ve heard you play it, what I thought must have been leprechauns plucking strings from inside his guitar is actually just lovely flatpicking. I’ve got to go back to the drawing board on this one. Fantastic rendition!
dude, still listening, stay just as you are of course grow etc... but kep your aura of now, you comfort, your nerves all that is, these things seems to give you that folk feel that I feel John himself captured.
Fantastic.. Closest to John's I ever seen...You must have spent hours and hours getting that guitar part down.... Unless your just a natural!...Well done good singing too....10/10.
First of all, I think you have a great name.....second, you nailed it. It pleases me more than you know to see a young fella like you loving the music of John Denver like I did when I was your age.... I"m now 71years old. I heard John's first hit, Country Roads while a student in college. When Rocky Mountain High came out, I was working and I bought a Honda Gold Wing Motorcycle and drove out west from Ohio to see, for myself, what John was singing about. That was 40 years ago and since then, I have lived in the Rocky Mountains.....from my front porch I'm ringed about by majestic mountains and I live on the top of one of them....Blessed, truly blessed.....all because of this man's music. Keep it up Parker....you've got it.
Absolutely excellent! I pulled out my 12 and played along! Very impressive. Very well done, guitar and vocals! And you can tell you really like the song. I believe John would be impressed. 👍🎵🎶
He was born in the summer of his 27th year Coming home to a place he'd never been before He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again You might say he found a key for every door When he first came to the mountains his life was far away On the road and hanging by a song But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long But the Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullaby Rocky Mountain high (Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below He saw everything as far as you can see And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun And he lost a friend but kept the memory Now he walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams Seeking grace in every step he takes His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky Talk to God and listen to the casual reply Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend While they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more More people, more scars upon the land And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly Rocky Mountain high Colorado Rocky Mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky Friends around the campfire and everybody's high Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado) Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
My friend. I just want to say that you truly do this song justice. And I am talking about justice that references one of the few pop singers who has utterly perfect intonation. Indeed, I can see the “work” you described in putting this together with those vocal chords. Such GOOD WORK. Your heart and soul totally drives it. Btw: I love how you mellow out at certain points, and your slight improve towards the end. You’re obviously pretty popular , and who am I, of course. But I’m seeing you for the first time cuz I was reminiscing this song with the master himself, and I’m so glad to come across your vocalizing of this great song by the great and late John Denver. Thanks man. All the best and happy singing and helping of this world. 🎤💫⭐️
this is beautyful and natural. You made it yours without loosing the nerve JD put into it. And the playing is solid, natural an true to the origin too.
I'm blown away. Best cover I've heard of this song! And great guitar skills. I imagine that this is pretty much what it would sound like if Neil Young covered John Denver with Eddie van halen rockin' the acoustic guitar.
Very nice Rocky mountain high cover Parker!! Excellent vocal and acoustic play. I just posted my acoustic version of this song today, and saw your cover... well done!! Steve
So very good. Even sound like John. Played this for years with similar guitar - SJ200?, but only manage the chords. As noticed you instructor is (rightly) proud. I need to hear more of you. Will checkout your links.

The best effort I've seen without a doubt...tremendous technique and clean playing, the payoff at the end with the falsetto was superb.

Many thanks!
Absolutely Awesome! 👏👏👏👏
He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Coming home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door
When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hanging by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long
But the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullaby
Rocky Mountain high (Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below
He saw everything as far as you can see
And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun
And he lost a friend but kept the memory
Now he walks in quiet solitude the forests and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake
And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Talk to God and listen to the casual reply
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear
Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend
While they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more
More people, more scars upon the land
And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly
Rocky Mountain high
Colorado Rocky Mountain high
I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
Rocky Mountain high (high in Colorado)
