The standard exhaust pops just enough. After hard acceleration in sport plus, immediately let off the gas to get a pop or two or three. I have a 2021 M340xi, but ordered it with proper, staggered summer rubber 😀
People saying after 2020 don’t have pops. I have a 24 X3M40i and it pops, just not as loud but revving up to 2,300rpm hard then letting go will get pops.
Can't tell you how many times I watched this!! Thanks for doing this. What's your long term opinion of MPE? Still recommend? I am most likely getting for my 2023 M340i. What did you do with the stock exhaust? Wondering if worth keeping the stock for some reason?
Looks like your car came with 225 square setup stock. In the MPE video the tires look like PS4S - did you buy new wider rear rims for staggered setup? Or are you running 245s in the back?
I went with square to spec 225s all around per what’s written on the door jam. But I think that may be what’s causing a bit more shimmy than I like when power sliding. When I wear through this set, I’m probably going to put the RFTs back on these wheels for winter, and get a set of staggered flow-forms. The car puts out a surprising amount of power at the rear when you want it to, even though it’s XDrive
@@rleon8339 I bought used it for 2500 with cf tips (v2 version so the one that doesn’t crack) last august. It is an addictive sound. Good deal I think?
I don't think so. The standard exhaust sounds way better than mine. My biggest disappointment with the car so far is the exhaust note. Huge step down from my S4 it replaced.
@@jarasw8226 are you in Europe? European models have opf which mutes the sound. I have also heard you need to break in the exhaust. Anyway, im in the US and mine sounds like this in the video.
I was once told that the standard exhaust on the M340i was build by M Performance, thats why it already sounds nice... So u paid extra and replaced a part with the same identical part... Lol!
You can’t have an M performance exhaust and a standard at the same time. Second, that isn’t an M performance exhaust at all. Third, an M performance exhaust is best on an actual True M performance car, not an M sport. I’ve owned both, and it is a major difference.

Do the wheel sizes also come staggered on that setup? Or just the tires.
@@rb3782 Yes - The rear wheels are wider
Disconnect the valve controller on the exhaust when it is open and sounds nice all of the time :)
I have the ‘21 abs I have 0 pops or burbles. In any mode. I’m upset.
@@Scselig get a new exhaust. The stock one is very restrictive. I have the AWE track Exhaust and I get burbles all the time
Sounds great. I’ve just ordered a new m340i with this exhaust as an add on option. Can’t wait.

What are you doing ?
Wish the new ones were as loud sadly even with the M performance the 2024 model isn't as loud as the the standard from 2019-2021
Great comparison dope! Perfect just what I wanted to hear is back to back yes the M is just perfect for this platform its totally worth the money.
Someone teach him how to rev pls.
Please teach us
Put your foot on the gas and thats it
It has soft limiter you dumb wit
Haha thinking about the same thing here
These cars are mild-hibrid? And has stock maps not tuned?

where can i buy an MPE (in europe, maybe online )
@@db0006it doesn’t fit on the European models due to the extra filter and its not allowed. You know that?
How did you get your Standard Exhaust to have popps?! Just got a 21 and found out they fuked the exhaust. Mine don’t pop
Maybe they changed the tuning. The 2021 is also a mild hybrid now.
The 21 and up got tune change no free pops and burbles for you!

BMW m340i 2020 and years below get the crackle and pops. I was gonna nab a 2021 but now knowing this I may just get a 2020 or 2019

they are only 8.5 in the back
@@robertmatthesen740doesn’t matter if they’re 8.5.. you can have 8.5 on 255s or 8.5 on 225s lmao..
Wait standards still pops and burbles??
It's from the engine mapping.
yes in sport and sport plus
Source through your dealer or where?
Is it just to make the car louder or is there a performance boot also?
Strictly for sound, but well worth it I think.
Standard exhaust with a catted highflow downpipe, or the mpe ? Anyone that can give me some recommendations? 1 cost 700 euro, otherwise 2000 euros

Too bad we cannot get these in Germany anymore. :(
Just wondering if the M Performance exhaust is an axle back or cat back?
Axle back. You have to cut the factory exhaust to fit it on.
Saw in a different vid it’s not right at axel nor is it from the cat, it’s from the mid section

Back in 2016 I bout it new for about 1000 and sold it for 800 three years later.

how did you get your 2021 M340 to pop????
So that's fake ... 2021 standard exhaust no pop only M exhaust
It would do it on a cold start sometimes, or randomly while driving. Not so much once the system was up to temperature.
Break it in and it will pop more
