The fact that someone is willing to pay $60,000+ for a skin tells you just how ridiculous video game culture has become.
I suggest checking out a video titled "Top 10 Most Expensive Virtual Items Ever Sold" And you'll be surprised.
@@Tauri9111 I love the story of the guy who bought a WoW character and got banned for it.
@@stinky9067 iirc it cost him 10k usd, and he got banned, because he was showing off with ultra rare items, although he was a massive noob.
Yea... That story is hilarious alright
@@Tauri9111 well he bought a max level fully geared rogue, I'm pretty sure it was literally the top rated rogue, one of the few players with the weapons he had at the time, and probably the only rogue with it, he disappeared and suddenly a new rogue with those items appeared and he was terrible at the game.
I think he tried to sue both blizzard and the guy who sold him the account but obviously couldn't as he broke blizzard TOS
CSGO skins price being ridiculous is nothing new but I'd say that one had some merits to it because of the historical aspect. It's like an artifact but digital instead of physical, which is ridiculous but even money are digital somehow these days so maybe we are just out of touch.
I'm still peeved at the fact that I'll never be able to unlock Rey's Last Jedi outfit in Battlefront 2. They could've at least patched it so that people could unlock it by playing the game instead of having it be locked out forever.
I actually have that Mercy skin, but don't use it very often. The skin is nice and all, but I bought it because I actually thought that selling a skin for charity was a pretty cool thing for Blizzard to do.
I'd love for more game studios to try doing this in the future. There are plenty of great charities out there that could benefit from this sort of attention from gamers.
Blizzard usually does charity pets in World of Warcraft as well.
This!!! 💯% agreed!
Still... the forced scarcity aspect... i mean, i did buy the skin as well, but... couldn't they just still sell it and keep donating the money they get for it? Don't get why these charity sales should be limited time things....
@@shadowcat1606 I think it has something to to with legal reasons.
@@shadowcat1606 I know what you mean. I understand making an event out of things, but having that Mercy skin become available every October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month seems more sensible.

ThomasEdge4Life you are a LEGEND! Thank You.
Surprised that the Caravan Brutosaur mount in World of Warcraft wasn’t on here. It sold for 5 million gold during the Battle for Azeroth expansion, then got pulled from the vendor and is now only available through the black market in game (which has 5 random items per day and only 1 person can get each item). And when it does hit the black market it goes for well over the original price.
I actually own that scorpion skin. The mask sits on top of my bookshelf staring down at everyone. My fiancé hates it lol
Can I have it? lol
@@dovahsblight7677 Do you seriusly think hes gonna give u it? LMAO
@@elite6848 it was joke
It's amazing how everything about fallout 76 was messed up. So much potential..
I'm amazed people don't realize how much it's improved and still only judge it by it's initial release version. Quite a lot has been added in.
@@darthhatchet775 yea, because first impressions matter a lot
@@comradesam3382 🙄
@@darthhatchet775 You can do your stupid emojis all you want but it doesn't stop first impressions from mattering.
@@The7Reaper 🤣🤣😂
Wow they really swept that dark nuka rum under the carpet because I never heard of it!!
consider yourself lucky. from what I've seen and heard, it wasn't that great. utter waste $90+ dollars lol I think they also made people wait an extra 3 months for their pre ordered drinks as well lmao
It's more that FO76 was such an unmitigated disaster in quite literally everything they did with it that it just got drowned out by the shitstorm that flooded the news.
I can’t believe 2 minutes of this video is a bio mutant commercial
I’m getting sick of them marketing that trash. It’s a bad game that has a lot of bugs and unfinished content. The game is bland and very repetitive. WC is the only channel to give it positive reviews. Everywhere else, the game is a 6/10 at best, with channels made by regular gamers and not biased critics like IGN and GameSpot giving it a score of around 3/10 or 1/5 stars.
@@lawrencetalbot8346 I gave it a go on PC, erm yeah save your HDD space
The Swift Zulian Tiger mount in World of Warcraft. Those things cost like $3,000 at least. Also the Black Qiraji Battle Tank.
You can buy a pack of party hats with each color except the new rainbow party hat in OS Runescape now fyi.
I must be a masochist for clicking this and seeing what I’ve missed out on
The Comment of the Day!!!😂
We all are, m8
Hello fellow masochist
FO 76 had such good ideas with collectors edditions but they managed to screw up EVERY SINGLE ONE
How about Excalibur Prime for Warframe. It was only available to founders during the early stages of Warframe along with the Lato Prime and Skana Prime weapons.
I came to say it xD
i dont have that one but i do have both rubedo and phased sets complete, the ankyros was absolute hell to track down
I still have the Prime and Skana on my Steam account
I started to play the game 2 weeks to late for it.
@@Gripen1974 😥 Soz my fellow Tenno. My buddy who I introduced to the game was also unable to get it
I have the Pink Mercy skin and I'm a Mercy main so I wear it often
I'm sorry 🤭
In ff11 there is was a necklace that would give you a code to get the same necklace for your character in game.
And in 14 there are loads of items impossible to get by. In v1.0 by registering ff13 of SE's website you would get a code for the ashura gloves, there where also the items from the collector's edition, the onion helm and Hermes' sandals. There is the gobbue mount that you could only receive by speaking with the wandering minstrel, the legacy chocobo mount and the legacy tatto on your neck that you can only have if you played V1.0. After that they gave away a mount for the 5th anniversary and all the PvP seasons mounts are also impossible to obtain. The last item that comes to my mind is the white cloud mount which was a limited time collaboration with Amazon.
Im glad i actually have the Pink Mercy Skin. I didn't know it'd be that rare lol
My co-worker once offered me a runescape party hat for covering his shift. I covered the shift because I wanted the extra hours and told him to keep the hat (since I haven’t played runescape in like a decade).
Fate of All fools Exotic scoutrifle: Destiny 1
Owned exclusively by Trifecta01 and his wife; Given as a gift from the devs after his wife had gone on to write his story after a piece of his skull removed and Destiny had helped him after the fact. Bungie would later make a variation for PlayStation players in the taken king called the Jade rabbit which became available to Xbox players in 2017. The model kit was special to the gun with it over all being a mild difference that separated it from the Jade Rabbit. It also had it's own Grimmour card
Actually, the rarest in-game Item you'll never own is the Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider in World of Warcraft.
To date, 1, and only 1, has ever been seen in game. And that's because, as the tale goes, a player on the EU servers back during vanilla accidentally deleted his mechanostrider (something that would have been quite heart stopping back in Vanilla WoW), and after putting in a ticket, a GM restored it for the player.
However, the GM accidentally gave the player the Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider, instead of a normal mechanostrider. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, except that this particular 'Strider is reserved for Blizzard GM's and not meant for the general public.
Through an accident of a friendly GM, one player, and only one player, has the rarest mount in WoW history in his collection and no one will ever have a chance at getting it.
Yeah.. well... yes and no,
This isn't just about "rarest in-game items", but items you could had gotten before but can't now simply because the time frame,
The one you are mentioning wasn't something like that, people couldn't go and get it (Although is a cool story)
The Runescape party hats are listed as 2.1b cause thats as high as a max cash stack goes, the value of them is quite a bit beyond that depending on which colour it is
I was going to add this into my comment max cash wont buy you a p hat lol but a few grand will XDDD
The RuneScape party hat kills me...
It's probably been deleted for inactivity. But I had 3 on my account..... One of my friends then convinced me to give it up and try WoW (he paid for 6 months for me.) But I didn't like it, and for some reason never went back to RuneScape......
I played RuneScape on the Xmas when the party hat drop happened but I didn’t log in that day as I’m a normal person who spends time with my family on Xmas day.
Wish I’d logged in and got some to sell for “not real life” money now lol
I love Biomutant, I do hope they would add an aiming mechanic so you can focus on aiming for the head.
How can Savini Jason from Friday the 13th the game not be on this list!? A reward for backers that was never made for sale for the rest of us.
What about the majority of Mission Pass Gold tier cosmetics and Mag Evolution Devices in Phantasy Star Online 2? Those were in most cases, never distributed ever again after their initial release, and since they are no-trade, you can't even buy it off the player market. 15* weapons and (maybe)13* Units in that game from past events are also unobtainable anymore.
I still play runescape... on OSRS party hats are on average 20k right now....
Cause they arent discontinued on OSRS, they are on Runescape though
If I was Blizzard, I would have made two versions of the Mercy skin - one for a limited time and a variation of it available forever, both having the proceeds going to charity
Proud to be one of the owners of that pink Mercy skin 🥰🥰
Wasn’t expecting Renegade Raider to show up in this video
The Black Ops 3 M14 is extremely rare because it was only available for two weeks and you can only get it out of a supply drop which sucks because it’s such a powerful weapon
One frustrating item unavailable now are the exclusive skins only available if you pre-ordered the deluxe version of Control on PS4. They are not in the ultimate edition, on any platform and so say to buy them separately to unlock, or obtain them in-game.
No mention of young George Foreman on fight night champion. A game I still play weekly ten years after its release and I have to scroll past foreman with the padlock symbol everytime.
Not owning Illidan Genji still haunts me whenever I see one every 5000 games
You sure you don’t mean every 10,000? 😋
I'd put the Raven State Issue, Apocalypse Imperial Issue, Megathron Federation Issue, and Tempest Tribal Issue up there with 'ultra-rare game items'. Hell, most of the Alliance Tournament ships in EVE Online qualify....
The Halo Wars collectors skins are another set...really wish they'd have put them in the later release versions of the game because they looked cool in multiplayer.
There are also the platform specific vehicle skins in Jurassic World Evolution, which were from the pre-order with different ones for each platform...and the Vivid Ankylosaurus which was a humble bundle christmas thing.
League of legends the Pax Twisted Fate skin is unbelievably rare. Riot Games released a code for the skin. Only a thousand copies of the code were made. World wide. You can buy an account that has the skin. For about half a million. This skin is so rare it currently dwarfs anything Riot has released since.
Warframe's Excalibur Prime. It was a founder only item. DE has said they will never make Excalibur Prime available to purchase again.
The AWP Dragon Lore is also no longer obtainable through drops, so your only way of getting one is buying from the market. An average one with no rare sticker is like $5k.
8 Physically Impossible video game finishing moves
Wrong vid my guy. But interesting idea.
You can't forget about the archon skin for thanatos in smite.
No TF2 Golden Wrench? Of which there were like 10's of and most have been destroyed for charity?
biomutant plug is real some of your list featured the game
warframe has had a lot of promotional items that end up phased out or equipables that became unobtainable after a system revision, some of these are tradable but the prices can be absurd assuming you can find one that someone is selling
i'll just include the oh so one of the rarest banners in fortnite, i am indeed talking about the youtuber banners!
during the time when save the world was the only game mode you could play, there were a time where bunch of youtubers did a sponsor video to promote STW that includes a special link where you can get their banners & right now they are no longer obtainable.
so if you got one of those precious youtuber banners along with that banner skin to show off your banner then you automatically win the game of who can flex most with the rarest item, showing those battle royale sweats that their renegade raider are nothing comparing to one of the youtube banner you manage to snag during those pre-battle royale days!
Party hats are still around on runescape but they're only given from Santa if you get Christmas crackers
I would not be surprised that the reason Blizzard doesn't do another charity skin is: "Look at all this money! If we do another charity skin, we'll have to give away all this money and we want to keep it all for ourselves!"
The Scorpion skin has since been released and is now available for free download
Party hats are common now at least osrs, they had them all out every holiday event
I own the Mercy skin and I use it all the time; it's my standard, go-to skin to use unless there's an event going on. I always like to use a skin appropriate to that event if I have one/if it exists.
I alternate between Pink and Witch. Though Mercy has a lot of great legendarie skins, except maybe her vanilla ones.
I expected the World of War raft World event Mount to be on here. Only 1 was handed 0ut per server, to the person who opened the gates.
My mother passed away from cancer when I was 15, so not only did I bought that Mercy Skin, I also bought it for my GF at the time
I would never spend $40 on "cosmetics"... but it was all donated for the cause
I got that Mercy skin, though I honestly wish I got the lab coat skin instead.
I also initially bought OW on Playstation, so I had the pre-order Widowmaker skin, but went to PC and Blizzard wouldn't let me have the pre-order skin even with an unscratched Widow skin code.
It didn't even have a single-player and they had the gall to charge full-price.
I don't think I can see myself purchasing anymore Blizzard products.
Naughty Bear 1, even the gold edition doesnt come with the slasher bear costume. It was only given away if you pre-ordered the game. Sure it comes back in the sequel, but doesnt change the fact that ill always have that invisible spot never filled in my costumes menu

To be fair, OW2 has been in development for years now and the player base of the game wants a better gaming experience which already demands alot of time and resourses. I feel like Blizard also doesent want to just be constantly doing charities for various other reasons.
DC Universe Online has a Batman v Superman swag pack that's not been on the marketplace since 2016 due to some legal bs. It has a superman tintable emblem in it that is the best superman emblem in the game.
Nexus armor from the old school MMO Asheron's Call. One per server. Sold on ebay for thousands.
1:56 for actual video
Would have loved to see the White Hat Hacker topper from Rocket League
And devs wonder why every year indie and classic games grow in popularity.
Party hats in old school runescape sell for barely anything anymore. I bought the entire set for less than a million gold.
Woulda been cool to see Archon Thanatos from Smite. Only ever available on PC release early in the game’s existence and was opened to the public one other time for a donation of $1000 or more for a make a wish charity event.
I cant Imagine the value of that AWP with stat tracker.
Surprised black Alistar wasn’t on this list from league of legends, but what culture never really talks about league unless they’re bashing on the super toxic community
well in some way a black alistar was in this video lol
Technically doesn't fit cause you can get it in hextech chests. No skins in league are exclusive anymore.
Party Hats should've been the top. I almost forgot the amount of prestige that was and is attached to the Party Hats, and when I first found them out I was dumbfounded. For some of the games here you just had to be there or pay the price at a specific time. Party Hats though mean that you are top-tier, deity among men, strolling through Runescape for years and years now.
My girlfriend actually has a purple and blue party hat! It's insane, I thought i'd never see one in my life lol
To be honest any game can have a "game of the year edition"
CS Skin is WAAAAAAAAAAY underpriced by now... it is actually in the realm of 120 grand nowadays
Party hates in runescape are worth WAYYYY more than 2.1 bil. Try 20+ bare minimum. The ge had a trade limit, you can only carry 2.1 bil.
So youd have to use other items in the trade.
The tom savini skin for Friday the 13th is rare also
1:50 to skip biomutant ad
I have a code still that I never got to use for PAX Jax, but since they didn’t release it for Mac right before they fazed out all their paper codes I never got to redeem it and they won’t now a days.
Smackdown pain one of the most played game in playstation in India
The fact that people pay for some of this trash is ridiculous. I love playing video games ive been doing it for 30 years. No wonder why the world thinks gamers are idiots.
I'm suprised you guys didnt talk about Savini Jason for the Friday the 13th game.
There's one more factor in the csgo skin. Even factory new items have a rating of perfection
I’ve always loved the skins for CSGO but paying 60k for a skin you really have to evaluate your life decisions. 😂
Kinda surprised Warframe's Excalibur Prime didn't make the list. Oh well.
No PAX Twisted Fate for League of Legends? Must've been cut for that first 1/4 of the video.
I still have a can of the unity shaving creme 😂
I'd want Will Wrights beta for Sims
I actually have the pink mercy skin as do a lot of people. IDK why it’s on the lists since so many people own it.
If anyone here played Street Fighter V Red bull had some skins for 12 characters by using a code from a can. You also got the chance to pick who you wanted to use the code on.
it's just a different skin but i guess people want them via buying those special edition for to use in game.
i kinda never knew the renegade raider was that rare
I’m surprised Paz twisted fate didn’t show up on the list
Honorable mention. Glacier Skin Rainbow Six Siege
I have the Renegade Raider. First skin i ever bought. But i stopped playing in like mid 2018. Fortnite wasn't the same after season 5
I have that pink mercy skin i love it and glad i got it i have lost a few family members because of cancer.
I hate when game companies do this. The only one I understand is Pink Mercy, even if I don't have much of a problem with it I would prefer if it was a yearly charitable offer.
There's a lot that's awesome about modern gaming, but part of me longs for the old days when you bought a video game as an end-product--box, manual, cartridge--and that was it, as opposed to all these insane collector's editions and skins and add-ons and DLCs and rare nonsense that you have to pay extra for. I guess that's Capitalism for you.
Heyyy DK made it into a whatculture vid.
party hats, santa hats, and demon masks. many things people post daily on runescape FB pages. i would say it depends on how long you've played or knowing what makes the best money in game. i can easily get millions a day if that's all I wanted to do but I have a life and many other games I like to play.
Happily owned Pink Mercy
Hey now I still have every color of a party hat lol
Imagine you have to actual PAY for skins.

As a Doom Eternal fan, we like to unlock our skins through pure unadulterated violence.
@@psbox362 Thats an good way too.
top 10 super from your character can have
Thats a whole two minutes of marketing guff before the list, always happy to hear from Josh but sheesh...
Most of these I have never heard of, and that is because I'm not a sucker!! 🤣
Csgo Howl? The contraband skin. Specially one with 4 ibuypower stickers.
