M'aiq the Liar will not leave me alone in my last playthrough. I would see him everywhere, constantly.
Yea I’ve had four or five playthroughs where I’d consistently find him the first time I made my trip from whiterun to markarth. Almost the same spot every time. In my first playthrough, I accidentally threw an extra punch on Uthgerd the Unbroken and turned her hostile meaning I had to kill her…which gave me a nearly full set of steel plate armor(sans the helmet) at like, level 4. I did that for at least a 1/3-1/2 of my playthroughs after that, due to how strong that armor is that early in the game, up until I realized Uthgerd was a solid follower and not a bad overall NPC in the in-game society

I swear no one at What Culture has played Skyrim for for than 20 minutes past Helgen.
I've NEVER seen a painted cow and I have probably 200+ hours between the vanilla game and the rerelease
Got maybe over 500 hrs and only saw the cow one maybe 3 times, the average play though would make that rare.

The actual rare event in RDR2 with the vampire is if you capture via hogtie alive. 1st getting on horse can be tricky (horse don't want him on). 2nd is rare case where nobody reacts to you kidnapping him. 3rd is bringing him to Tiny Church (and the pain of getting him in). Last, just drop him in front of cross. He dies instantly.
Or trying to trigger the event to get the blue jacket from Pearson. Or ghost train.
Now that’s attention to detail lol they didn’t even have to do this but they did and I love it
Ran into a weird one in fallout 4 recently. Thought I had seen everything in the game. Came across a dead trader surrounded by empty med kits and ammo boxes, with a dead radstag practically on top of him. Implies that the stag attacked him, and he used up his entire stock of ammo and supplies to fight it off, and died anyway. Went back to the same location on another playthru, and there was nothing there. Either it's a random encounter or a bizarre stack of coincidences.
you could've added that the reaper in persona 5 is a lot weaker when fought against during flu-season. that makes the encounter even rarer.
Also during pollen season aswell if im not mistakin an 1 of those encounters during those seasons makes it so he cant attack an he dies straight up after like 3 turns making him the perfect xp farm during that time an its not the 1st persona game to have it i dont think im pretty sure either 3 or 4 had the reaper aswell with the same conditions
Definitely need a part 2 to this list, nothing from the Fallout series, GTA, there's more in RDR2, and heck even RDR
I witnessed both the painted cow and M'aiq the Liar on my very first playthrough of Skyrim! M'aiq was not far from Half-Moon Mill on the lakeside, and the painted cow was in Eastmarch on the way to Riften.
I've played through FF7 multiple time over 2 decades and have never seen that enemy before.
Should've included the brotherhood of steel wandering salesman from fallout 4. He is incredibly rare and has no prompt to show up and also doesn't even show you his stock unless you are far enough in to the brotherhood questline. He also sells a piece of armour that is unique to his inventory making him one of the rarest and most valuable NPCs in the whole game.
Oh wow, I've got hundreds of hours in the game and covered every square inch of the map, and I've never encountered him before.
@@Lark88 yeah me too I've got like easily 500+ hours and only ever came across him once and it was unfortunately really early game when I hadn't even met the brotherhood yet. Btw can we all agree that even tho they may not be the best faction ideology wise they easily have the best questline in the game?

Undertale has a number of mini events that can only be seen if the right random number is generated at the beginning of a run. Some of the most interesting relate to the mystery of W.D. Gastor, a missing scientist researching the effects of human determination on monster souls who disappears shortly before the events of the game.
I encountered the headless horseman from Skyrim, shown in the intro. I followed them all the way back to their point of origin, and completed that event. A few weeks later, I encountered the horse, again, without the rider. I followed it, again, and it eventually led me back to the same location. Thought that was pretty cool. Also, it gives you the option to ride the horse, but I missed the initial opportunity, and never got close enough to it again to mount up. Would like to know if I could have controlled it, or if I would have just been along for the ride, before it disappeared again…
maybe it won't even let you ride it tbh probably only gives u the prompt
I never knew about that last one, and while it may be tempting I don't think I'll ever want to do it, I can't sacrifice Wrex for anything, not even Mordin

I don't know if I'm dumb lucky or not but I'm still playing Skyrim, but I've seen the painted cow random encounter a lot. 95% of of mine happen during daylight between the Western Watchtower and Rorikstead in Whiterun Hold, but walk the road. Most of the time he is headed to Bleakwind Basin, but will sometimes stop at any giant camps along the way. You can talk to him, but watch from a distance when he gets near the giants.

Ma'iq the liar encounter is not rare. -_- I see him every playthrough, sometimes multiple times a playthrough. The rarest event for me is the crashing alien ship in Fallout 3. I've seen it happen a total of 3 times since the game released! And I still play it to this day.
There is an easy way to see if you want to though. There is a random event that will happen when you first go from megaton to the super duper Mart. Save before you get to the trigger point and you can just reload over and over until that happens and you can get that fire lancer. Usually takes like 10-15 min for me to do that.
I've only done it to see it though. I prefer to just let it happen because I love the fallout series so much and it just gives me more reasons to play it over and over
Come on, the Reaper in Persona 5 isn't really a rare event. All you have to do to make him appear is not rushing through. Hell, I encountered him on my first visit to Mementos and thankfully escaped.
Yep. The reaper is great way to level up fast too. Also, P5 is not even an open World game. Not every RPG is an open world.
I do believe the absolute rarest event in Skyrim isn't even an "event" in the traditional sense and is considered a bug (in a Bethesda game? never!) All credit goes to Camelworks for the video detailing this:
So throughout the games are various merchants that sell typical nick knacks and wares, most often times nothing too noticeable. Well, for a specific npc merchant named Revyn Sadri, this isn't the case. Sadri's wares have an apparently infinitesimal chance to have a named circlet "Revyn Sadri's Copper and Onyx Circlet" spawn within it. Spoilers: apart from its prefix, it's identical to any other Copper and Onyx Circlet. So what makes this one of the rarest events?
Well, nearly every single item within Elder Scrolls games tend to have different item codes assigned to them behind the scenes, so that the game can call it up on command for certain events or just spawning them into the world. This also allows for users to spawn in specific items if they have access to the console command and the item number. The same cannot be said for Revyn Sadri's circlet, as it specifically obtains the unique prefix of "Revyn Sadri's" at the time of it spawning into the npc's list of wares, hence the consideration that it is a bug, meaning that it can only ever be obtained if you get extremely lucky and find it within Revyn's wares.

Wait that Persona is not "Rarest Events", it is easy to get.

The Red Dead one isn't rare either. It's something anyone can do as long as they follow the step. The Ghost Train would be more "rare" as there's no specific steps the player can do to force it to happen.

Why would you want to save Mordin? He’s awesome for sure, but the way he goes out is perfect. He dies the death of a true hero. I feel like it hurts the story if he lives.
I got that dying light 2 ending on my first ever playthrough and after beating the game and seeing that cutscene I was in shock for a while
Didn't know I could save Mordin. I felt pretty good about saving the all the Geth and Quarians though. I think it only works if you take Legion to Tali's trial in 2
You can do it without that. Pretty sure I've *never* brought Legion on more than his loyalty mission & the suicide mission _(because of the mission count after the Collectors kidnap the crew affecting the number of survivors during the suicide mission)_ and I've always managed to save both the Geth & the Quarians. It has to do with loyalty from ME2, choosing to encourage peace during Tali's trial and, if I remember correctly, what you choose to do with the Geth during Legion's loyalty mission or something like that.
@@TheHibbitydibbity that's cool. My buddy was never able to do it and I thought those were our only differences. I never lost people from the kidnap and rescue but I made sure that legion's and tali's missions were last. As long as everything else is done before the kidnap it didn't negatively effect my outcome.

Not sure if WoW counts as open world but it should definitely be number one on this list with the Ahn'Qiraj world event. Happened exactly once, with the opening of the gates giving a unique mount to the 1 player who opened the gates. It was pretty epic.
If they can have mass effect as an open world game then you can have WOW lol

The Persona 5 Reaper is easy. Just go to Mementos on a day where it is raining.
This will cause the monsters to run the high chance of starting the battle with what is essentially a doom spell that will kill them outright on the 3rd turn.
As you might imagine, this does apply to the reaper. Encounter it and the effect didn't spawn? Escape the battle and try again.
Go in during Flu Season. Guaranteed Despair. Easy cheese

There's no way Ma'iq and the painted cow are that rare. Granted I never saw the cow to conclusion but I've seen it on numerous playthroughs
I have witnessed both Skyrim events multiple times, they do not seem that rare.
Because they aren't I've seen mai'q in all of my playthroughs pretty much I saw him outside of whiterun after just starting the game and witnessing the attack on helgen
I've never seen the cow though because i don't care about the animals and what not i just like doing the quests

I've seen M'aiq dozens of times. The Firelance from Fallout 3 on the other hand...despite spending almost double the hours in Fallout 3 than Skryim, I've found it twice
The secret walls in elden ring are blowing my mind . I’m hitting so many perfect walls that look like a path and boom a path lol, I also got that horrible ending in dying light 2
P5 Fight the reaper during flu season, he can not attack and can be easily killed. He gives the most exp of any enemy in the entire game. You can easily max out at 99 in just one day of spam fighting him during flu season in I believe Nov.
Rd2 - found the vampire -(tip don't let him get close he kills you with one thrust from his knife)
There is also a ufo encounter in RD2 which is hard to find, been a while but it's a broken down house at a certain time of night.
About Conrad and Mass Effect 3: Don't forget to do the quest with Jenna in Cora's Den in ME1 to have Conrad survive when being shot at.
I've encountered the last one from elder scrolls on this list at least once in ESO if I remember right.
I've encounter the paint cow and M'aiq the Liar many (During different play-throughs) and multiple (During a single play-throughs) times during most of my play-throughs.
You have both sandbox games and open world here. They are differnt types of games so it is odd seeing them on the same list.
Everytime i see "open world" i think of princess bride. You keep using that word I do not think it means what you think it means

I've seen the painted cow in Skyrim, but never followed the farmer to the Giants Camp...
Fallout 3's Uncle Leo. I put hundreds of hours into that game on multiple playthroughs. Found him twice.
You can also save mordin with a high enough paragon score. The only change is in the dialogue to my knowledge. I personally wouldn’t go down that path though as it actually results barely any more war assets then Wrex and Eve being alive.

M’aiq is one of the easiest encounters ever. Pretend you don’t want to see him and he’ll appear to offer you yarns of advice and lore. Pretend you DO want to see him and he’ll appear. To offer you yarns of advice and a clawjob.

Some of it was definitely just you, you seem to have the same luck with M'aiq as I do getting mounts to drop in MMOs (Hello 10 years for Ashes of Al'ar and headless horseman mount).

In Mass Effect 1 you can rage Rex into "hero shots him", but he will survive and act as nothing happened. To do so you need to get to Vermir as fast as possible, avoiding/refusing recruits to your team. As by eliminating 1 of your party members mission will be unbeatable (not enough members to split), game will spare him

It’s so crazy because I just played Skyrim today and I went to a giants camp near Whiterun.
And there was a painted cow literally laying on a rock in the camp, waiting to be eaten by the giants I guess 😭

Best thing with the Saint Denis Vampire, is if you hog tie him, you can take him to the Tiny Church and he'll freak out if you drop him inside.

You can save Mordin using paragon in Mass effect 3. Everything else has to be done but you don’t have to use renegade in the 3rd one
8:15 I swear Maiq the liar is way too popular in skyrim to me. I have encountered him at least 5 times per playthrough of the game I have done. ALL 12 PLAYTHROUGHS! THAT IS A MINIMUM OF 60 ENCOUNTERS!°°

The Reaper? I played both Persona 5 and Royal and naturally encountered it a few times and forced it to grind and get the trophy hundreds of times. How can something I forced to spawn and killed over a hundred times in the 2 versions be rare?

Why did you have the Elder Scrolls on your list. I saw the Painted Cow 7 times and Mique the Liar 5 times in one playthrough.
Im a cow savior. Only ending on that quest is me eliminating the giants.
I don't know if i'd count the reaper fight as a rare event especially calling persona 5 "open world" is weird. the reaper battle is made to deter players from just staying around and farming, they did it in persona 3, and persona 4 they did it a little differently. This is like saying the witcher 3 cow guardian is a rare event because its there to make players not farm the cows and move on with the game.
Sorry but the Reaper was a thing since Persona 3. It's a penalty in Mystery Dungeon type games for staying on a floor for too long.
