As someone that struggles with monthly expenses, I think it's safe to say this list definitely was the most depressing list in the last few months 😬🙃
Wanna get bro married? HEAR ME OUT. Two disposable incomes, we split the bills, and we can make the neighbors either very uncomfortable at night when we play video games, or they will call us brave and heroic. Every which way we look at it it's a win in my book.
I mean its positive in the way that all my stupid purchases will never come close to this ones

When same-sex marriage got legalized, Brent and the friend had an amicable divorce so she could marry her actual love.
As my mom always says, "Married is a tax status." For similar but opposite reasons, she and my stepfather have been "married" for 33 years but never actually got legally married.
@@SimuLord I've always, since I was a little kid, thought marriage was the dumbest thing ever. Taxes should be for each individual person, joint filing should absolutely not be a thing. And you don't need a stupid piece of paper to love someone. It's a bullshit archaic system that needs to be abolished in the name of forward progress.

DLC is such a double-edged sword.
On the one hand, being able to infinitely expand something like the Truck Simulator games through traditional map expansions or pay a microtransaction for some new trinkets for my in-cab decoration (I paid $2 on a Steam sale for some Goodyear swag) is a great way to extend the life of a singleplayer game.
On the other hand, there's this list of burning Dumpster fires.

And here I feel guilty just for spending 20 bucks on a base game.
Is that it? I spent like £100 on Elite Dangerous for early access when it was in beta phase xD and another £110 on Star Citizens :D

I had at least 2-3 blue party hats on my RuneScape account from the event from years ago sadly I stopped playing after that and no longer have access to my account

with the runescape one, that was an event in old school rune scaped in which they kept the party hats going and didnt discontinue them, thus making them worthless in old school, in rs3 however they are indeed THAT expensive for NO reason, old school did the smart move

I remember back in the day on Everquest hearing that the main tank (Warrior) of the number one guild on our server sold his character to someone on the number three guild on our server for $8,000. I believe this boosted that guild up to be in contention for some end game content they were struggling with at the time.
I just want to say that Partyhats were LARGELY mislabled here. Blue Partyhat in RS3 is something like 300 BILLION GOLD now, not just over 2 billion.

Knew Eve Online would be somewhere on this list. Never played it or even knew about it until I saw it in other gaming list videos over the last year or so, but what I do know is that money is no joke in the Eve fanbase. Also, what is that statue Jess has behind her? The third statue on the top left shelf. I *always* think it's Lara Croft because it looks like the character is holding a pickaxe, but I know I'm probably very wrong.

You started off with someone so ridiculous that I didn't think you could top it. You quickly proved me wrong and, halfway through, the first entry started to seen reasonable
#1 I did the Kickstarter and plopped down $1200. To get a small Cap ship, a real star map, an extra ship, life time insurance for both ships and a USB model of said Cap ship that will have the game loaded in to it. Also got a real metal card with gold paint. I also had a better paying job at the time.

Echoing fury was hilarious. 3 weeks later it got nerfed and became useless
Definitely makes me feel better about what I spent on or in a game. I can retire from my job with the amount of money those gamers whaled in their games.
As an Entropia Universe player I'm pretty sure it would take between 8 and all 10 spots
What made echoing fury so good is its lifesteal effect and fastest attack speed for an offhand so your swing timer comes back to your main hand quicker (which has more dmg to base your whirlwinds off). That's why the item was sold for that. Not damage of the weapon itself.
Still dumb though, its worthless these days.

@@ereheesmerere No they weren't, only if you equipped them. If I remember correctly, it has been years since i last played it. You wouldn't bind the weapons unless you equipped them.
Most mentally expensive three seconds of my life was the three seconds before the video would pause once I found out Jess was presenting.
OSRS re-released party hats to kill the value of them. I'm not sure about RS3, but the only way you can spend real money on in game items, is through real world trading. Which is illegal, and will get you banned.

that mace isnt as good as some of the swords. cant remember the name but i got this one that everytime you use a spirit generator attack (this is for monks) you throw an axe that spins and travels in a straight line hitting enemies. ive gotten one of those axes to hit for 20M crit

Entropia Universe differs in one major thing. Your ingame money can be converted back to real money, its an actual currency, through the gamecompany (MindArk PAB founded in Sweden) and approved by the Swedish governement. Its a real economy in a virtual realm. Your ingame items have a tangible value (like a base line value). And a real added value system determined by the market. FYI...planet Michael Jackson never happened. It's now known as planet Rocktropia and run by LA resident Jon Neverdie Jacobs. Instead it became an advertising platform for The Thing franchise and was supported and theme based on the band Motorhead. The bass player Lemmy Kilmister (RIP) was a huge fan of this platform and active player. But yeah....def very expensive.
RS3 blue party hat is more than 2b runescape gold, not sure on current prices but easily over 100b runescape gold. Around $4-5k
Entropia universe is actually a very fun game. It's free-to-play too but it definitely helps to deposit. I no longer deposit I live off of my investments and trading.
I have a blue party hat on all three RS accounts. I keep replaying it from the beginning and calling it quits when I get the blue hat of legends.
Party hats are worth nothing in OSRS, but still a lot in RS3

I still am waiting on Star Citizen. I dropped 300 at the VERY begining and thats it. I wasn't one of those guys that shelled out for a bunch of crap Mine was a part of a collectors edition that came with physical copies and stuff.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying for extra content. DLC, extra modes, new levels, I'm OK with that. If someone wanted skins, OK, more power to them but that's not something I'd pay for.
