This is the problem with pop psychology seen in the media, it blatantly distorts and over-interprets the research. Be cautious about these sources. A beginner course could debunk half of the bs it comes out with.

Juuso Lautamäki, bro, the brain does have 2 hemispheres joined by corpus callosum. Also, it wouldn’t be wrong to say both hemispheres are constantly in work, and an individual with left hand dominance will show more concentrated “activity” in their right hemisphere.
And both sides of brain can perform each function. It’s just one side is better adapted to perform certain tasks.

You can be analytical and be an artist. Likewise, you can like science and be creative. Creative doesn't strictly mean art, it's just a means of thinking. A lot of scientific discoveries were made by creative people. A lot of beautiful sculptures and art were made by analytical people. An example of a left-brainer making art would be architects and people who make art with geometric objects.

Interesting. I'm not a very creative person at all. Never have been but I'm planning to pursue a career in electrical engineering and I've been questioning whether I might be heading down the wrong path. I have a hands on type of background due to a tendency to take things apart to figure out how they work with a strong curiosity for it but electrical engineering is a more creative oriented field but I like having instructions and very clear guidelines on things. I'm also an introvert which further complicates things. 🤔

@@riabejoy3502 My right thumb was on top, and my dominant hand is my left. Then again, I do use my right hand for doing things such as holding a keyboard mouse, but I mainly use my left hand otherwise.
What about me who was once left handed but learned to write with right hand, but still chose to use the chopsticks with the left hand.
I could still write with my left but it's out of practice so right has better handwriting. My left hand is stronger than my right, but my right hand has more control than my left.
I also tend to mix up what thumb is on top since I don't have a preference.
I'm just ambidextrous. I do tend to be a jack of all trades though...

You have to rearrange your whole hand though. Otherwise your thumb is resting on a finger of the same hand. If you shift them all, its not uncomfortable any more but just feels like one would have to get used to it.

It works like that, but there’s not a proper explanation in the video to say what it has to be the fingers with the brain, and some test that say it’s totally scientifical and not only because it sounded logical or good.
To me, being analytical is quite relevant part of being creative. Ideas don't just appear to your mind.

You can for sure be creative by being analytical.
You pay attention to details 90% of your audience will never even see or even consider. Effort pays off, and all those tiny details add up to make a masterpiece.

Example:
A Artist needs to think if the logic of the painting makes sense (anatomy, lighting, perspective) and he also needs to make the painting interesting through his creativity.
A mathematician needs to accurately solve the equations in a very analytical mode but needs to be creative enough to find ways to solve some problems.

Actually… it’s genetics. Your genetics determine whether your left thumb or right thumb is over the other.
it's actually about conditioning. i used to favour the dominant half of my body (my right half has always been significantly stronger than my left), but a few years ago i started to switch things up. now i always opt for what feels less comfortable at the moment (and it really does vary). this way i've greatly reduced my right-half dominance in many scenarios - e. g. i used to always cross my right leg over my left, now it feels okay to do it either way. i don't really clasp my hands all that often so putting my left thumb over or next/paralel to the right feels *very* uncomfortable, but with practice i'd get rid of that, too. the only thing i haven't managed to improve is my left-hand writing xD
@@kangaroo9816 i understand , i always wondered sometimes when i was a kid , why did i feel more powerful sometimes with my right hand and sometimes with my left , it's because i wasn't fully used to work mostly with one hand . it didn't happen like on a daily basis but still in the amount in which i was able to notice the confusion . over time , my brain stopped getting confused with which hand to use for something and now i'm right handed

I see a lot of people got the opposite of what they were expecting. I think "creative" here doesn't imply an exclussively artistic expression but rather an intuitive or a cognitive mannerism; a visionary. "Analytical" simmilarly doesn't have to include what first pops into your mind, like maths for instance, but rather in a way a psychologyst may be considered analytical for their thoroughness.
ive spent the last 14 years making music, drawing, painting, making 3d models, designing video games and I put my left thumb on top.
