That was a bucket for heavy equipment or a dump truck bed. Mining equipment most likely. I’m here for all the random prison references lol so funny Craig & Victoria!
Ahh so interesting! When we drove by, I thought it looked like a dump truck bed, but thought “we’ll that’s WAY too big so that can’t be it”….didn’t think about mining and off highway type applications!
That is a dump truck specifically designed for the Coppermine in Utah directly west of where you guys are staying you should check it out. It’s actually really awesome place to visit and amazing to see the copper mine operation.
We did Pistachio Land a couple years ago and it's definitely a fun stop, we recommend it too! Craig, you and them flippity flops are killing me. Put some darned shoes on when you're dumping!!! You're gonna wind up with poopsie toes one day! For a water tip, we'll catch the water used waiting for the shower to heat up and use that for washing dishes or a toilet flush. Boondocking is all about the water use! Safe travels kids!!!
To be fair our usual is a couple of days! However, with your texts and videos you're really starting to convince me to start trying boondocking! Beautiful views and video though guys! the inmate part made my day lol! -Lauren.
Shorter hair makes showering quicker Craig! OR you could be like me with NO hair. That makes it really quick! One thing I didn’t like about the on/off switch in the shower was that it always came out cold at first. That Brinkley really is beautiful.
Thanks I put that on my check list. Still on my first month. I’m killing it ! You campers rock. Food trucks with rocking ribs and a band Sunday. Daytona is the best
Love how U.S.82 used to end in a pistachio orchard. Next time you are in white Sands, drive up to quaint little village of Cloudcroft. It is at nearly 9000 feet and lots of National forest to camp in.
After the sand storm is over, inspect your truck and rv very carefully for paint damage. My dad worked for the railroad and had to drive through the Mojave Desert, and insurance companies had to repaint his car three different times due to sand pitting and scouring the paint down to bare metal.
I open gray water valve as when dumping and capture it into a large container and keep it in bathroom for flushing. Also in many states it’s LEGAL to dump gray water almost anywhere. As it should be. No different than washing a vehicle.
Maveriks started out as just a regular car gas station. They have recently (past few years) started opening the trucker style gas stations. If you get their app you can see which stations have the RV/Trucker islands, dumps, etc. (In case you didn't already have it,) It was a rock dump bed. Safe Travels.
I use the shower wand and either run it in the toilet till hot or but in a bucket for dishes. The black tank is always the last to fill its always the grey that fill first for me. Plus more water in black is good for it.
Rosie and I have been together a little over 54 years. We started travelling back when I was in the Army when we first married. Cue 66 Mustang, a song I wrote of our wandering from fort to fort while I trained troops for our war in Vietnam. Now we currently have a Brinkley Z3100 and are winding our way home to Wisconsin after spending the last four and a half months boondocking outside of Yuma, Az at the LTVA. We are staying a week in Deming NM where for 10 dollars a day we are also boondocking. Burlington Bill busking on the road and on you tube. Enjoy the music.
Yep! He is definitely turning into a long haired hippie. Lol!!! 😂😂😂 I am getting my hair cut next week too. 🙂 We are like you guys. We hate getting in after dark and having to set up.
We boondock 4-6 months on our property in Baja. Composting Toilet, lots of Solar, water plants with our Grey Water, 1000 gal water tanks for showers, propane refill once per month, haul drinking water from town weekly when we go for supplies. When travelling 2 weeks is our max for water and propane. We also travel on weekends and sometimes will travel Wednesdays to get caught-up. We have a Shorts showing our Baja setup. Enjoy and safe travels. Christian & Tracey.
You’re like an hour away from a wild scenery change desert to mountain pines… Ruidoso is a cool place to visit if you’re ever back in the Alamogordo area.
We actually drove towards that direction for a rock climbing session while we were there. It was insane how quickly the scenery changed once getting towards the mountains behind Alamagordo!
Do you have a blue boy so you can do a tank tank dump? As for saving water I have an idea. I don’t know if it’s a good idea but here I go. Use a dish pan in your kitchen sink for doing your dishes. When done with doing the dishes use that dish water to flush the toilet on those #2’s. Any thoughts my friends? A 2 for 1. Lol 😂 get it? #2 for #1. Thats just funny there. 😊
150 years ago they boon docked across the whole country with no electric or heat in covered wagons So it cant be that hard with a camper solar panels running water fridge hot water shower and a toilet
I do a lot of boondocking. I have a composting toilet so no black water tank. I don’t use my shower but instead take a sponge bath. For dishes, I use a spray of 1/2 water and 1/2 clear vinegar. So I end up only consuming about 5 gal of water a week. This lets me boondock for about three weeks with no hookups.
That big thing was mining equipment. We fill up our hot water pot (for tea) before we shower to run the cold water out. We also use paper plates and paper bowls to save water. Also, we wipe the grease and stuff out of pans with paper towels before we wash. It saves some water that way. And we're not even boondocking! We're just in a campground with no sewer hook ups. LOL We love the Moab area. There's so much to see around that area. Can't wait to see next week.
I laughed at Victoria's comment about the roadside attractions "obviously you are never going to make them your main destination" - we do! We've been to the World's Largest Ball of Twine in Cawker City, Kansas, multiple times; but we have never made it to the annual Twine Winding Festival in August 😁 You guys keep at it, and stay safe!
Love your video. I have never seen Victoria stress, you can actually see her worried about not finding a spot in the dark. I can relate. stay safe. Freddy and Bryan.
I was definitely stressed! Now that we’ve seen the place, I realize there wasn’t need to really stress but some places we’ve been to, I definitely wouldn’t want to arrive in the dark!
Here is a second vote for the Aquaview ShowerMi$er.. runs cold water right back into your freshwater tank with an indicator when the water is hot. Pretty easy to install yourself.. should be able to find in a lot of RV stores.
Also Craig if you guys come back to Traverse City, Moomers ice cream has the best Pistachio ice cream this side of the Mississippi River. I bet Pistachio land doesn’t have the best Cherry ice cream JS 😜😊
Worlds largest pistachio caught our eye. If your ever near Casey, Illinois it's a must stop for world largest, practically everything. Keep up the great videos.
You can also use the waste water for plants too , the wide load you passed was a bucket fitting to a large plant machine used for, quarry or mines, here in the UK
Hey y'all! Just found your channel and subscribed. Great luck getting that site! Glad you made it through all the challenges to reach such a beautiful spot. Safe travels and happy camping! Stacie & Tom
Hope you enjoy Moab, we love it there. We just bought our Z3100-1930 a couple weeks ago. Dakotah says HI! hint hint... on where we are from. Keep up the great videos!
If you rinse your dishes into a bucket and shower with a bucket to catch the water, that water can flush your toilet. We’ve found we can go longer than 2 weeks on our waste tanks by doing this.
If you ever get to South Dakota in the summer you have to stop at Mitchell to see the world’s only Corn Palace. Every summer they decorate the outside of the building (it’s the gym for the local college - Wesleyan College if I recall correctly) with corn of different colors yellow, red, blue and black to crest tableau’s of that year’s theme. It’s kitschy, but still definitely worth taking the time to see.
We also have a photo of our (previous) rig at the world’s largest pistachio! 😄 You need to utilize the dump station x2 trick. Pull in and dump. Pull out of the way and take a nice long shower. Then dump again before heading to your boondocking spot. 👍🏻 Y’all need a Showermiser on that rig!
Now thatdump station x2 trick is a brilliant idea!! We’ve talked about the Showermeiser but can’t quite figure out if it’ll work with the type of shower handle we have in the Brinkley
You are the first person I’ve ever seen at a dump station with flip-flop shoes. Well, I see you walk in the snow with them too, so I guess it should make no big deal.
Get an Aqua View Shower Miser to better control to water temperature when showering while boondocking. We have had it on 2 trailers and our current Class A.
sidenote: you guys were like 10 mins from me at the Love's!! If you find yourself out this way and still boondocking later on, stop by I've got a ton of space! Free, of course, haha
Our longest boondock is 4 months in Quart site for 3 months an 1 month traveling to Colorado then Utah for Workcamping for 7 months at Bryce Canyon Pines RV park. Safe Travels from Show Me RV Adventures. Clayton&Denise
Hey you two...Be sure to hike the Fisher Towers and Corona Arch trails...ESPECIALLY Fisher towers! If you guys are still around Moab. Dead Horse is great hike and biking too....hike Fisher Towers to the wooden sign thats on a rock and it will say "Trails End"! Does have a ladder part so if you take the pups be aware of that. All three places are dog friendly leashed of course...You wont regret it!!! Oh and Corona Arch also has laddered area too plus steep chain hand rail climb....Dead Horse is a pay entry so be aware of that.
We did Fisher Towers last week!! It was a really good hike, we enjoyed it a lot and made it to that sign! There are so many amazing hikes and trails out here. We’re really loving it
@@wildrvlife Yes I LOVE Moab...Utah for that matter...So much beauty in that state...Glad you guys did that hike! Corona Arch is worthwhile too and FREE!!! When we were at Fisher towers last time we met a couple that climbed the shear walls of the first really tall rock structure...there went to the very top of where the lone hoodoo was ...and they were swinging around up there on their ropes...AMAZING! Too high for my comfort!
Now I need to find out how many gallons of water the dishwasher in my new motorhome uses. Maybe I can conserve water using that , who knows.🤷♀️ I really like your Boondocking videos. It’s really showing me that we may not always have to be in a RV park. I was a hairdresser in a female prison for over five years. You wouldn’t believe the haircuts I had to fix- they cut hair with a lot of things.
I’ve had people tell us that the RV dishwashers use less water than they would washing dishes, so it’s definitely a possibility! And I’m so glad to hear that it’s helping you see what boondocking is like! We love it and definitely encourage everyone to at least try it 😄 And I bet you did see some interesting haircuts! 😆
If I had to guess, I would say you’re renting a SXS. You are in Moab after all! Hope you all have a blast! That wide load was a dump bed for a very large dump truck like they use in construction or surface coal mines. My brother makes a living working on those!
Have you ever looked into installing a RedArc dc to dc converter to charge while going down the road. You can run six gauge wire from the truck battery to increase the charging amps.
Getting to boondocking places are way out of the way ! Spend gas to get a free night & day - just asking - do you think it’s worth it ? I like the series . Interested. I’m sure you’ll show us the pros & cons. We had high winds here for days on end in Arizona too
If we are just doing an overnight, we pick a spot along our travel path, but usually when we’re boondocking we’re staying at least a week or sometimes two, so it ends up being worth it for us!
I don't know if you crossed into Canada on your way yo Alaska yet. If you want to see what that bucket was for. You could go through Sparwood BC as they have the Worlds largest truck on display.
Beautiful shots of Utah!! What, visiting a giant pistachio - nuts to that 😊😊I like to use pistachios instead of pine nuts in my pesto. I was watching a vid where RVers were in the Mojave desert in March and it was snowing there too.
Sadly the number of visitors has sky rocketed and people trashed it when it was free, so the costs cover dumpsters and rangers. i think porta potties too...although not sure on that.
We have seen some portapotties around too! I think they are planning on developing it into a more structured campground, but for now it seems to be the same first come, first serve dispersed areas
I truly love you two and your channel, so I hate my comment, but… if you are paying it is NOT Boondocking. The whole definition of Boondocking is paying nothing for the camp spot. There is a term for camping without services either paying or free, that is “dry camping” which is what you are doing in this video ;) Please keep up the GREAT videos, I just love you guys. P.S. regarding paper products… remember that doing that simply fills up landfills faster. There are methods of cleaning dishes without using as much water…. It’s much nicer to the environment we all love to enjoy when camping… food for thought…
We’re not one to get caught up in semantics (truly meant in a super chill way), because we have always read and seen the definition of boondocking as camping with no hookups on public land, which is what this is. Some public lands have transitioned to designated dispersed sites, or even require a permit (like this spot), but that may mean that those spots don’t “count” as boondocking to some people but it’s all good! We’ll probably still call it boondocking and continue to annoy people who care 😆 thank you for watching and glad you are enjoying them!
@@wildrvlife you don't annoy me in the least, I am informed enough to understand what you are doing and how to do it. My only concern is for your rates with those new to your channel that are not as well-informed. They might hear you refer to boondocking as something you have to pay for and then just dismiss you as not being informed. A simple change in terminology to something like dry camping can accurately convey to your new viewers how informed and knowledgeable you two are on the subject. Just a thought, do with it as you like. The only thing I know is I will keep watching y'all because y'all are great!
... but it won't be a Canadian haircut EH. I won't say that that big yellow bucket you passed was a humungous .... Forgot the fresh water Doodoo happens.
Yea we won't be boondocking anytime soon. I couldn't go without washing my hair more than 2 days and that's a stretch. Can't handle greasy stringy greasy hair.
That was a bucket for heavy equipment or a dump truck bed. Mining equipment most likely. I’m here for all the random prison references lol so funny Craig & Victoria!

100% agree I stopped in Casey Illinois with my family for the world’s largest sites and we had a wonderful time.
Start at the beginning of their videos. Really sweet couple. Victoria is so animated and full of energy. We are old farts and love watching them.
I fill the kettle with cold at the kitchen sink….but love the dog dish idea also!
Hope you enjoy Moab, we love it there. We just bought our Z3100-1930 a couple weeks ago. Dakotah says HI! hint hint... on where we are from. Keep up the great videos!

off grid is a blast. Resource management at its best. continued safe travels....
It’s really like a game! Thanks for watching!
I’ve had significant problems with Campendium lately. I’ll be watching for an update on that for sure. Thanks for the great videos.

We saw the pistachio had some ice cream bought a bottle of wine and took the tour of the pistachio farm. It was pretty cool.
What coffee pot do you have? Looks amazing
Please reply; want it 💕
That is a dump part for a dump truck at a quary. Stay safe out there. ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 mary
We love Moab! We were there for 8 nights and just left Saturday.

That big yellow thing was a bed off of a mining truck😊 have fun Moab is so beautiful!
Ahh makes sense! And thank you!! We’re absolutely loving it!
We stand in a plastic dish pan when showering--captures a lot of the water and then use that to flush the toilet!

I thought it looked like a HUGE dump struck bed, that makes sense now! Thanks!
Glad you stopped for gas in my little town! Welcome to Belen, NM

Wow, that's a huge dump truck.

Great video! That large thing you saw on the road that was slow, was the back dump box of a large dump truck that is used in gravel pits.
I fell for that 20 yrs ago,but it was fun, that was a bed for a youk, other wise a dumb bed for a big truck

It was a huge dump truck bucket.
Craig, I’m not so sure about dumping tanks in flip flops lol. Stuff splashes! Looks like you made it unscathed though 👍
Have a cousin in Alamagorda. We told them you were in the area, and that you liked our app!es. They were impressed😂😂😂
From Michigan and never heard of the largest pie pan .. will look for it this summer.
Put a sanitized bucket in your shower, to catch the cold water. Then fill the dog dish, and use the water for cooking, i.e. boiling noodles
Good ideas!!
I think they make an eco-friendly soap for dishes. ❤
It is a box for a haul truck, says my husband, who works in the mining industry.
... but it won't be a Canadian haircut EH. I won't say that that big yellow bucket you passed was a humungous .... Forgot the fresh water Doodoo happens.
Y'all have fun!
Thanks for sharing your videos. I really enjoy watching you 2!!!
We spent two days in moab last summer doing exactly the same things. But we slept at a luxury resort! Lol
Haha that’s not a bad way to do it either 😆 at least you had plenty of water to wash off all the dust! Lol
@@wildrvlife Lol. You sure would look silly hosing each other down at the car wash!
Jackson Wyoming is nice
That oversize thing on the road is the bed of a mining truck....
Great viedo,keep on keeping on,God bless🎉❤
If you guys swing through Draper Utah (south end of the Salt Lake valley) I'll be happy to give you a bag of Pistachio Keto Chow!
Dump truck bed for a heavy holler. 140 ton.
Yea we won't be boondocking anytime soon. I couldn't go without washing my hair more than 2 days and that's a stretch. Can't handle greasy stringy greasy hair.
My sister lives in Ruidoso New Mexico if you ever need a place to stay just let me know they would love to have you and you would enjoy them
