I like the design choice to have more of your power come from your class specific choices instead of having the vast majority of power coming only from gear.
@Six Thoughts Most of your power will still come from gear. It's just that in D4 leveling up is not totally meaningless like in D3. You actually get a better balance, better synergy, but it will still be based around gear and skills for sure.
same here, the thing I didn't like so much about diablo 3 was that your damage was only coming from items. Glad to hear that they changed it in diablo 4.

Well explained, thank you. I like it that they didn't make it like diablo 3 where all your damage just comes from your items. The best thing imo is doing something in between a good mix between damage from skills + items, but I understand that finding the right balance is not an easy thing. So far it looks ok to me, I like the huge individual character development you have in diablo 4.
"I like it that they didn't make it like diablo 3 where all your damage just comes from your items" .. go play it and you will see that you are wrong because they do, without items you are nothing, the skills wont kill anything.

Is there going to be a Paragon Board Calculator at some point in time ether close to launch or some time after launch? so you can play with a build like in Poe (Path of Building)
I may know what the answer is but the question could be a dev question or to put it our there for a modder or just someone who can and will set something like this up.
Interesting concepts but does that mean you do one main playthrough and then from there own you just used account wide attributes/skill points, then you are just jumping almost straight into end game grinding?? So how again do you get the attributes needed to do the legendary and rare tiles? By doing the other tiles? I like the idea of it sounding like you can just continue to grow stronger no matter what by just completing all the tile you can on each board as much as you want. How does it work with other players in your group that are playing different characters. Do they just help you through your paragon board or do complete theirs with yours? Also with the paragon points, can they be redone or are they gone once used up? I'm not completely behind this concept only because in diablo 2 you knew that a really good build could eventually be copied. You could work towards it knowing that the "strongest" build could be obtained as you would eventually get the drops you needed as everyone else does. In this game format it is heavily random. It will depend on which boards you are presented and in what order and what tiles... This means that you will never have a true ability to get the strongest class. For PvP this will be a hard concept unless the devs take the easy approach and tune down everyone's power to a certain cap.. Lastly with each set of board editions for leagues are they just going to keep grouping them all into the normal non league section until you have 100 different boards and have no clue how to build your character anymore? It would at least be nice if they kept the boards segregated into their groups for each league and you could choose which board set you wanted in the paragon so at least for players like myself, I can go after the "strongest" build for that set that was found for the league.
you get skill points up until 50, after that are paragon points, which is ten times more theory craft potential than skills. Paragon gain point each 1/4 of a level, not level up and gain 4 points.
As a second comment PLEASE DO THESE TWO THING WITH PARAGON BOARDS 1.) Keep it at least somewhat similar as for speed runners as well as casual players who want to gradually learn the game more as they play, we don't need completely crazy randomization for each character. It would be nice to have a good medium of not knowing what you're going to get, but yet boards look familiar. 2.) PLEASE bring the new boards from each league to standard non league after the season is over and let the player choose what season boards they want to use for their build! This would be incredible to allow players go back to any season they want to build a new character on and for those who didn't have time to try out all they wanted in the league. DO NOT GET rid of these boards as this would produce the awful fear of being left out junk that stresses people to try and continuously be available to play your game... That's no fun in my opinion.
Seriously. They took the rune system for D3, spread it out over a web looking design, added paths between the runes and sprinkled paragon levels as dots along the way, and called it a new progression system. I'm missing something. I must be This is D3 all over again, yeah?
Looking at all ARPGs, it will be hard to bring a real new game that won't copy stuff from the most played one.. I would love to thinker about new concepts and get credits for it.. but for now, I'll abide by their games, their rules lol *Surprised there ain't no copyright infrigements.. Now, all that there is left to wait, the Open Beta. Oh! I've seen the same kind of video somewhere.. did you just re-used an old one? Just curious, I feel a déjà-vu..
Insane might be an understatement. Thank you for your explanation of the system, it is much appreciated. More complicated does not equal more enjoyable. I'm not seeing "more enjoyable" unless for a few people that will spend a few days and weeks to establish the best/ most powerful skill setup for every single character and the majority of players will follow those blindly. These will be available before the game launches so not to have people making up their own mind and that's what we call content creation. Making choices for other people that are too lazy to use their own few brain cells. Only a few are using this to get a second opinion on something they have spend a good amount of time thinking about. What is however enjoyable is to see some cool graphics, monsters, landscapes, equipment and skills. That's the only selling point right now, Diablo 4 looks very mature, dark and pretty. The fun of hack & slack through hordes of monsters to find a perfect stat item or work on assembling a perfect stat item that allows an entirely new playstyle (teleporting paladin in Diablo 2) seems to be gone completely because items have less of a priority now than before. Changing skills to different skills has already been done in D3, POE and even Diablo Immortal did the exact same thing. Where is the new... exciting air of Diablo 4? The character progression has seemingly paid 98% attention to add a lot more stats to a system that was already saturated with stats instead of working on some pretty graphics that get more and more "cool" the higher level your character is or the more you invest in that skill or the higher challenges you complete. I'd prefer seeing something cool on the screen rather than celebrating another node unlock in a sea of nodes that slightly buff adjacent nodes only to unlock more boards of nodes that eventually unlock more nodes. Holy cow. Furthermore, it seems everything in D4 is even more class specific than in previous Diablo games. Smart loot so you'll never find an amazing item for another class to try something else but having to grind and find as hard as when you played your first character (for those that want that... they simply chose not to use found items). Why did they had to change the class set/ unique recipe that worked well for over 2 decades? Now instead of finding a legendary with maxed stats and the unique ability you want, you'll grind for an amazing, rare item, strip the unique ability from a unique item and voila, you have exactly the same as before = an item with unique ability and maxed stats. G a m e - c h a n g i n g!!! The best (worst) part however is what you're being asked to gather all these stats for? Challenging Endgame? No. It's as of right now nothing more than a self-flattering stat enhancement to brag in Discord to your friends and strangers. Gone are the times where godly rare items could outdo unique abilities, now you just have them and... btw. naturally you'll lose the unique ability when applying to that rare = increase grind time in an already grindy game because otherwise people might experiment to their hearts content and find ways and means how they enjoy their game. Diablo 2 wasn't lacking in gear progression; it was lacking in an upgrade to content. More maps, more bosses with interesting/ challenging mechanics. You already had THE BEST game of its genre at your fingertips but instead of enhancing, Blizzard just keeps experimenting with something that worked instead of adding new and interesting stuff players actually might enjoy. The enjoyment part is in the form of Battle Pass and paid customization to an already full prize game because... 2022 and because player will still buy it. I played the Ascent the other day... interesting story to play through, no need to re-play because of lack of content but boy did I ever not care about my stats in that game, and it was on a discount as well. Anyhow, happy new year and for anyone that can enjoy that thing that is called Diablo 4, all the best to you. I'll keep rewatching the best thing I've seen so far about the game which is its cinematic trailers.
yep, this all goes back to - having a feature for the sake of having a feature. And its overloaded with "features" inside "features" that essentially just add more base stats, that you can grind on years and years and never complete.

a lot of people are complaining about this and also roasting the developer team for lying .. they are saying they want to give us the freedom of chosing and going back in case we want to .. but the respec is paid and the higher level the more expensive it gets. I just hope the devs thougth the paragon boards out and that we cannot anass 200% attack or movement speed for instance by clicking tiles. I mean, there are a lot of tiles, and you can only be that creative right?
Everything I have seen from Diablo 4 systems...it is VERY heavily ESO inspired it seems.. elder scrolls online is a great game so I am cool with it. Just give me more to do than run Baal to level 99 and I'll be happy.
Man this shit seems to be more unecessarily complex than Path of Exile. Even PoE only had 1 passive big board and your skills. This is just too much tbh. I just hope the devs thougth the paragon boards out and that we cannot anass 200% attack or movement speed for instance by clicking tiles.
I mean, there are a lot of tiles, and you can only be that creative right?
but i want 400% move speed, gotta go fast, like sanic
Sounds like some path of exiles BS lol
@@Grinch-Sama you mean diablo 3.
@@Grinch-Sama not even close
Everything I have seen from Diablo 4 systems...it is VERY heavily ESO inspired it seems.. elder scrolls online is a great game so I am cool with it. Just give me more to do than run Baal to level 99 and I'll be happy.
Seems more like poe to me than eso. The way paragon board and stat requirements reminds me directly of PoE.
@@vainfate6275 like Vain said, they copied Path of Exile and having PoE for free...
Man this shit seems to be more unecessarily complex than Path of Exile. Even PoE only had 1 passive big board and your skills. This is just too much tbh. Buncha paragon boards, tree of whispers, can't get attribute points from leveling?, actual skill tree, renown system, special character powers, attributes.. we don't need a calculator every time we play.
Blizzard really pulled a lot from poe
definitely not a fan of D4 gameplay. animations. or power leveling
Well yea since PoE is far superior
If they do not make the trading unlimited (so you can trade legendary items) this game will suffer a lot. I dont think that the people realize how big of a limit this is and it is for absolutely hilariously stupid reason.
I am a fan of the game, but because of this I wont even try the game and I will wait for POE 2.
Thanks Path of Exile for the ideas xD
i listen like shit, but if u dont get paragon till level 50, why are there level 3 and 8, 15 etc glyphs
Maybe it means paragon level 3, 8 etc? Idk.
payed over 100dollar and still cant try a beta, what a scam bro
I cant wait PoE 4 to be released!
i want this game to be good so bad. blizz plzzzzz. also frozen orb looks horrible wish it was like d2 ; ;
how about item bonus like D3 that will change the gameplay experience.. because it looks like boring only ice nothing fast gameplay it is so slow like a weakling character..
I like this but this makes me think this is d2 and a d3 mix
There are certain things in d4 that d2 and d3 have and had
still confused
They basically copy - pasted Path of Exile system. At the same time, it seems like they simplified it, which I'm up for.
You act like path of exile didn’t copy the whole style of Diablo…hypocrisy
@@patrickdoyon3591 lol so what PoE is superior
@@johnbennett1729 lmao of what. Stripping out peoples wallets. And it’s loosing players drastically because of how dumb the system is.
@@patrickdoyon3591 in every way. And D4 will be far worse. The MTX in PoE is not mandatory. It’s free to play yet D4 isn’t. And they are still charging money.
@@johnbennett1729 POE free game items looks like shit. Forcing players to spend real items. They’re money hungry, and ur a die hard fan who can’t accept that. Lmao Diablo 4 looks way better in graphic and gameplay wise.
if they are going to have a stupid complex system might as well play poe. i really hate it so much.
Credits go to Path of Exile lol
Ngl, sounds confusing af
he talks too much and repeats stuff multiple times and makes it sound extremely confusing even for someone who played the game .. its actually really simple and kinda stupid. Its basically the same as D3 just less things to do, less skills and paragon much more complicated .. barbar had strength and vitality for stats, here you can chose intelligence on the board too if you want to.
POE?
60 seconds cooldown on this spell, use mana creating spell auto attack, again, again. 60 seconds cooldown spell.
This is just d3 again and unfun as hell.
Game is just dead on arrival
Boss fights are boring. Just mindless meat trashing.
No trading. No crafting system.
necromancer
Curious if dark and darker adds character customisation and races and steal the show
You guys are in for a rude awakening.
u explaining how skill tree works dude .... poe did that 13 years ago plese dont waste our time every single arpg WORKS THE SAME
Nothing special
Ugh, seems like I’m gonna get a character i didn’t create myself, just got by following some intelligent guide on internet.... Because only some builds can get to endgame, and I’m too stupid to create such a build...
No it's not
👍
Looks like a worse D3
Diablo is 10 years behind... Come check out Path of Exile. It is free and super fun and extremely different levels of end game that will split your brain in half. Quit playing Blizzard garbage! Do yourself a favor!
No it’s not quit lying.
Sounds alright until you gotta make a new character every 3 months.. yeah they want to make your choices matter just as long as the season lasts =/
D3D4都一樣的,別在這東西上浪費時間了
very PoE like it seems glyphs and all
Path of Exile looks immensely better than this game.
don't hold you breath when it goes from "insane" to "insanely p2w"
insanely boring
Character creations sux😂😂
It really does lol, but that's what helmets are for
Who designed these face paints?? It looks like a 3 year old got into her mom's makeup drawer.
Spoken from personal experience ??
You live in a world where 95% of the population got yeeted and let's see how your face paint looks, jabroni
just play path of exile people.
Diablo immortal
....so they copy/pasted the skill tree of Path Of Exile. lmao
No, its still as shallow as the skill tree. Not even remotely close to PoE. D4 needs another 24 months in the oven, because its not in a good spot as of the end game beta.
Woke
bad graphics,u could do much better in 2023
Bruh, its a video, you cant critique graphics until you play it yourself, trollx
uhhh the stats are basically the same as d3.... so i don't see how this is insane.
