Whole-heartedly agree! It's interesting hearing the different perspectives, could almost be a psychological study: personality types and who they admire (position similarities? Off or Def? etc.). Also, some of these folks may not divulge much of their personal lives- but, here we have a video of childhood memoiries, and the moment's when heroes were born.
I remember sitting on the couch as a kid watching Cunningham heave the ball deep and saying, "touchdown" way before you could even see who it was going to because you knew Moss had just burned someone and it was a touchdown.
Yeah, he was one of the first players I loved, we share a birthday and everything, that whole early 2000s Chiefs was really the first NFL team I paid attention too, Dante Hall was the first jersey I got.
Kurt Warner First game I watched as a kid was that Super Bowl loss to The Steelers. Him and Larry Fitzgerald have always shown such heart and dedication. Not only to the game of football, but to life. Through serving their community and making an impact on young kids lives.
Ladainian Tomlinson is my all time favorite athlete. Playing runningback from the little league up to high school I always tried to play like him. The guy was just pure awesome on and off the field.
@@bakgammon true I miss the old RBs we used to have not too many good backs in the league currently compared to like 20 years ago every team had a good back
Growing up Frank Gore was my favorite. He was so consistent despite being on those terrible Niner teams. Also became the all time rusher in one franchise.
What Klosterman said about your heroes is so true. My two guys at 8 years old were Bo Jackson and Magic Johnson. I'm 41 years old now and they are STILL two heroes of mine. Having met them both and them living up to what I had in my childhood mind was the ultimate. But yeah, seeing Bo Jackson play football, both live (2x) and on television was an absolute highlight of my young life. He was amazing.
Tom Brady will always be my favorite athlete of all time. Growing up in Boston in the 90s, watching the Patriots lose to GB in 96 with my dad, the Patriots were most definitely not a premiere franchise. Then to see them have the greatest Dynasty in possibly all of American sports all on the back of Tom Brady, will be something I'm going to tell my kids and grandkids. The greatest player in the history of the sport, just happened to be drafted by MY team in the 6th round. It could have been any other team, but I was so lucky that it was mine So many moments too in the last 20 years, both good and bad. The first SB win after 9/11, the potential undefeated season, 28-3 among others.
Lawrence Taylor was the reason why I got into football and the Giants were my team. The first game I remember, he was, by far, the best player on the field. It was not even close. The only NFL football jersey I ever bought was LT. Weird how time goes and I never felt even remotely interested in wearing another player's jersey, even though, I still love the NFL.
My favorite player growing up was Peyton Manning. Even though I was brought up as a Bears fan, I rooted for Indy in that Super Bowl. In 2011, my mom surprised me by driving 2+ hours to the Colts' training camp, but it was a surprise. I was wearing my Derrick Rose jersey and Peyton autographed the person on my right, skipped me, and autographed the person to my left. He's still the best and maybe one day I will get that autograph.

I’ve always loved Mahomes since he burst into the scene in 2018, but seeing him play in that Texans playoff game completely sold me on him as my favorite player. I’ve only been watching football for about 5 years, but I still have never seen a guy play like that in that type of situation. It made me a Mahomes fan and it also made me a Chiefs fan as well.
