@@bradleydavis8714 - Because he sucked. I had so much fun watching that 2011 season and following Tebow. I have two Madden Franchises dedicated to him, where I give him a chance to shine. One is on Madden 12 (that 2011 season) and the other is on Madden 25 (2013 season) where they introduced the read option to the video game. All of that being said, Tebow was a media distraction and a bad QB. His throwing motion was terrible, which resulted in inaccurate/inconsistent passes that also arrived late to their target. Sports science did a breakdown of his motion and how much time it wasted. From the time that a decision is made to throw the ball, go through the motion and when it leaves his hand, a significant amount of time has passed which allows these elite defenders to close the tight windows in the NFL. Just cause Tebow didn't have the arm talent doesn't mean he was inspirational. DeShaun has the same amount of playoff wins in his first three years as Tebow had in two.
It is tough for me. Growing up a Browns fan in the 2000s, I had two all time favorites. I had a really good player that could win superbowls, and the only good Browns QB at that point in time. Peyton Manning is by far my all time guy, Tim Couch is the Browns player I liked most growing up. Now I cant choose one, such a talented lineup. It's back and forth, Baker or Chubb, Hunt or Garrett, Landry or Beckham, Ward or Higgins? I wish I had options like that growing up, not to take away from Couch, he did something no other Browns QB has done in the last 21 years. But I will always love Peyton Manning. That 18 is iconic.
This is amazing because you see these players get this twinkle in their eyes as they go back to just being kids again. Thinking of their idols. Special to see.
Great to see Tebow named. The guy the NFL wants everyone to forget about for his display of prayer on the field. Like him or hate him, the man was a winner!
Some of the guys I grew up loving... Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison from the Colts who were my favorite team as a young kid, also liked McNabb, Owens and Brian Dawkins from the Eagles. 2009 and 2010 were awesome years, seeing Brett Favre play for Minnesota with Adrian Peterson and watching Blount flourish and hurdle dudes as an udfa in Tampa was lit. Especially in the throwbacks! 🍊 The year was capped off by Marshawn Lynch derailing the Saints’ chance at a Super Bowl repeat with the beastquake. Lime green was also my favorite color, like many middle schoolers, so seeing them don like green alternates was thrilling. Tebow in 2011 was electric. Wasn’t always pretty but so fun to watch him and his teammates save that season and beat Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson, Lynch, & the LOB during their emergence, they were my favorite team in high school. And again, Peyton Manning, as he joined Denver and the new orange primaries were standard. He set the league record with 55 passing touchdowns. Very fun to watch. I have a kid now and I’m not as emotionally invested in teams I once was. But the most fun I’ve had watching games as an adult have been Super Bowl 52 and The Minneapolis Miracle, both in the same postseason. I like watching DK Metcalf; he’s one of my new favorite players. Sort of reminds me of a more humble TO. They both have the mean streak. But TO was humble in San Fran Early on too...
