Thanks! It’s just any brand of liquid latex rubber, I’m using one from hobby lobby called mold builder. It’s similar to something like Vallejo liquid mask for minis, but works great for larger pieces and terrain.

Loved the new space. What air brush system do you use? What is your final photography setup (not video). Since this piece looks larger than some of your other dioramas, did you do anything to adapt your photo setup?
My airbrush is the Iwata Revolution, it’s tip is not too fine so it’s easy to spray thicker paints to cover larger areas. And I have a basic AS-186 style compressor. As for photos, I don’t have a dedicated space so I set it up differently for every diorama. My next video will show a little more of what it looks like when I shoot them, but it’s been mostly cobbled together in my small apartment. I did just order a large background kit so moving forward I will have a nice black backdrop behind, whereas right now I’ve just used pieces of black foam board in the background. I am a filmmaker for my full time job so I have a lot of lights and things accessible, I may do a video in the future of how to do a simple and cheap setup for people to try for themselves.

So atmospheric and brooding looking. Love it! I got some slide covers, I havent used them yet but I will tag you if I upload anything. Love the peeling paint too. I was going to ask about the cracking paint as I dont have an airbrush, do you think applying the paint to the wet modpodge with a sponge would work better than a brush?
Thanks! I'd love to see what you come up with. I usually use elmers glue for the cracking paint, and you can do it with a brush but it will tend to crack in the direction of the brush strokes. Haven't tried using a sponge or foam brush, but dabbing paint over it with one of those might work!

@@AbandonedMiniatures Cool, thanks. If you pick one specific scale you can (usually) purchase a ruler that does the conversion for you. It will make it easier to measure and maintain consistency. - Just a suggestion... In any case - fine work!
That might be helpful! I think often my issue is that I like to work with the larger 1:18 size but when I do larger areas I have to downsize some, or my piece would end up huge haha.
Yeah I really do like to focus on the places and their history. Unfortunately most graffiti in these places are not even creative and just ruin the place for me.
@@AbandonedMiniatures I have mixed feelings about graffiti: on the one hand I see it as ugly desecration; on the other hand art, with local and historical meaning. I get less upset with it on buildings, but on natural stuff like stones and trees? Grrrrrr.
Sometimes it can be visually interesting, but a lot of the places I’ve been have such interesting history that is important to remember, and when they get destroyed and graffitied (usually with very un-artistic designs), it starts to strip away that history until all that’s left is ruin.
@@AbandonedMiniatures yeah it depends on the place. Abandoned urban places look good with colorful graffiti but I can picture an old country home with tagging it wouldn’t be so great.
Mobile phone/cellphone protective screens make for great crushed windows.

The little foam makeup triangles are good too. Though they’re usually not as highly textured as sponges.

He used liquid latex and paint over that. You could use school (Elmer's) glue I think.
