    Love your approach to building things and showing others. You are a skilled tradesman and communicate things well. Cracked me up when you were talking about the trapezoid end piece when you said something like "a lot of you are smarter than me" - well smart vs. wisdom are to different things. I'm neither. Lots of smart people in the world that aren't wise at all. ;) Thanks again for the quick video and tips to building. Off to make my jig based on your model.

    Great jig Shannon…although I don’t have any stair projects on the horizon I can see where a similar setup would be useful setting up floating shelves inside an enclosed space such as a former closet or three sided nook. For multiple shelves I believe this would save time and eliminate the need to scribe.

    I like the jig design. Helps with any deflection when doing a retrofit. I build new stairs all day every day in the NE of the USA and I am actually helping a neighbor do a retrofit which is out of my norm soon. May very well make thing jig you have shown. Paten that before rockler gets ahold of it... if they haven't already

The stairs are curved and the steps are all pie-shaped.. the wall is to the left and open on the right ...any ideas on how I can match the tread to curve against the wall.

    Is this to just make sure if there are any minor weird angles or size variances that the parts are cut accurately? I'd normally just cut them all the same size and install them. But then I've never put manufactured flooring on a stair tread or riser.

    • @HouseImprovements
      @HouseImprovements  2 роки тому

      Yes this will give you any slight angles that you have and the total length right into the corners.
