Shockingly, there are modern cars that still don't have a height change on their seats, so you end up with the more compact members of society looking like a 90-year old grandma trying to peek over the steering wheel. :D

@@ChadWilson but usually it's only the cheapest of their line up, with the cheapest trim, that don't have height adjustment for the seat
@@ezrapardede1921 I've got a civic second lowest trim and it's got a height adjuster. It's a manual crank and it seems to take you on a diagonal, not straight up and down, but I gets the job done. I can't beleive there's cars that don't have at least that.
I seriously love the fact that bmw is still keeping the manual around.
They took it out of the regular 3 series though. M2 M3 and M4 are the only manual BMWs left. Next gen M cars might not even have it. Respect to BMW but they will kill the manual soon too. Honda type R will be the next victim maybe. 10 years from now Porsche will probably be the very last holdout. It'll be a bunch of electric Porsche SUV, sedan, and maybe even Boxter models plus the 911 soldiering on as the last manual transmission car in the world.

@@astronmr20 Issue with the MX-5 is it just isn't a very practical car. As recently as 5 years ago, you could get a F30 320i which is a proper RWD 6 speed manual sports sedan for $35,000. It's just under 200 hp, but it's a detuned version of the regular BMW 2.0 turbo so if you really want a bit more speed, a relatively cheap Dinan tune will get you to near the same power as a 330i with no reliability hit or voided warranty. But that's gone. Even a couple of years ago, you could get the Accord 2.0 Turbo with 250 hp and a 6 speed, but that's gone too. For regular cars that are also practical, we're down to the Mazda3 non turbo and hopefully the upcoming Civic Si, which come with manuals. No joke I'm seriously considering buying one of those 2 cars in about 5 years or whenever their final model year with the manual transmission so I can have something to teach my son how to drive a manual just like when I learned on a manual years ago.
These new M3s/M4s got the best interior options. Love that they don’t just restrict you to black or white leather seats

Agree. I find myself growing to like the design of the new models but I don't think I can like this one.
I couldn’t have said it better.....and not to mention I don’t want a car to “grow on me” - the first time I see the car my jaws must drop and I must fall in love instantly (like with the previous gen m3/m4) - this generation is just a pass for me - I don’t want to hate on it like other have done - I just move on and appreciate other cars you know....

There are a handful of modern cars whose value is actually increasing and none of them are BMW’s.
Not gonna lie, I love rev matching manuals. I had a 370z sport tech and it was one of my favorite features. Made it so easy to drive and honestly more fun to push hard. Kinda bridges the gap between auto and manual. And I don’t feel like I’m tearing up the car with my shite heel-toes

The M2 CS definitely has the most mechanical feeling transmission of any modern BMW. Even vastly improved from the OG M2’s manual box.

Those also weren't drifts. I cringed every time they said they were going to drift and then do a weak power oversteer
I really really hope to see an increase in manual option in future BMW's, in looking down the line at my next car purchase I'd be quite likely to pick one up.

Styling is growing on me. One of a few cars who’s looks are arguably improved by the front plate. Great overall though, nice review.
If you need a front license plate to improve the design, then it's not a good design.

It started growing on me the moment I stopped thinking of the shapes as BMW kidneys. It could definitely be better, but it's not the end of the world.

12:24 if you are finding yourself risking getting into the reverse channel, you're probably just gripping the shifter too hard. You don't need a strong grip. Hold it loosely and with a grip that wraps around from the side.

I still prefer older M3s a lot. The V8 E92 M3 mostly. This car does look good, especially from the back. I love manual cars, so if I was getting a new manual sports car .. I'd definitely pick up this or the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. And I'm a huge Bmw fan, but something about that new Cadillac just seems very boss. I think I'd spend the extra money for the Cadillac. I really love your UA-cam channel, just found it today and subbed! Some nice content from Canadians, I like thiss.

Sounds better than an RS4 and 5, sure, but not better than the V8-equipped RS models (RS6 and 7, S8, RSQ8) or the 5-cylinder models (RS3, RSQ3, TTRS).
Do you guys plan on revisiting either the M3 or M4 and once the all-wheel drive models become available? A comparison video would be 🔥.

I think I like the big grill and the look of the front end if the car is all black, gun metal gray, or this colour.... Especially when it has the double stripes on it. The side looks good. The rear looks good... Overall pretty good.

All BMW's have rubbery sticks and clutches. You can fix that by changing out by going with a shorter shifter or changing the shifting mechanism. You can change the clutch engagment feel by adding a spacer. These two quick changes dramatically change the feel of the manual. Still not as good as Honda's shifters though (particularly the s2000)
I’ve owned 2 M3 6spd manuals (E46 and E92) and they’re maunuals from the factory also weren’t that great. Very rubbery, very loose. They need to be upgraded for sure. In my E46 M3, I got the Autosolutions SSK with a ZHP illuminated weighted leather shift knob, and for the E92 M3 I got the UUC Motorwerks SSK and kept the OEM shift knob. Major positive differences in how the car shifted! Expensive, yes, but well worth it.

What drone do you guys use to keep up with the cars? I got a little Mavic Mini 2 right now, that is by no means the quickest, but it's ok. If you really slam your foot down in a car you'd need an DJI FPV to keep up. At least to do so with good video quality.
