Thanks for the kind words and in depth video. I watched all 37 min :) Glad you're liking the tent. Here's a few comments on the various topics you mention: 1) Yeah the magnets are really nice. We've got them I think really sorted out now (e.g. even stronger). We added them to the interior for the X-Dome and also to the X-Mid for 2024, so all of our tents are fully magnetic now. 2) Glad you're liking that pocket on the end. I've used other tents where the pocket is fairly low and then you lose useable length when you fill the pocket so I wanted to put it higher here. 3) For the solid fabric on the door, that is an intentional choice. What I found in testing was that putting the solid fabric on the door was a bit annoying for looking into the vestibule. Not a big deal, but I found whenever I was looking for something I'd wonder if it was hiding just behind there. I figured since this door wall was further from the fly than most sides of the inner that I preferred the better visibility into the vestibule rather than the solid fabric. I am working on the full solid interior which will be full solid of course, and ready in April almost for sure. If people want me to add that "missing" bit of solid fabric I will, but I think most of those people will end up preferring the solid inner anyways. 4) For side panel deflection, yes they are fairly flat sidewalls so if you get a lot of wind on them it'll tend to deflect, which rocks the cross bar and pulls on the corner poles. As you mention, my main solution here is the optional trekking pole supports, which can directly support the cross bar to stop that rocking and they can be angled against the panel so they directly support a line down the center of the side panel. Normally they shouldn't be needed, but above 30 mph they are nice to have, and likely essential as you get above 40 mph. You raise a good suggestion with the mid-panel guyout. I am normally hesitant about guyouts in the middle of a panel because people do ugly things to tents with these (e.g. yank out the middle of the panel and deform the tent) so I envision trekking poles as the preferred solution in high winds, but of course people don't always have these, so it might be a nice addition to add a mid-panel guyout here. A downside though is that if we did it on the door side it would interfere with door operation, and the 2P version will have doors on both sides, so it really only is an option on the one side of the 1+ model. 5) Nice hack with the magnetic vestibule lantern. Nifty. 6) I agree with you that is a 3+ season tent. How to label tents is a messy business since if we call it 4-season then people will think it can survive a hurricane, whereas if we call it 3 season then people will think they can't use it in the winter, so I shy away from labels in general but if I am cornered I will say it is a 3+ season. If the optional trekking pole supports are used I think in some ways it can work as a 4-season tent (e.g. it can take a lot of snow on the roof) but ultimately it is using ultralight fabrics so it is not a tent we would recommend for severe wind conditions, as you mention. I would try to keep it under 30 mph without the trekking pole supports and under 40 mph with them. I wouldn't say it can handle everything a Soulo can, but it'll handle what most folks put it through while weighing half as much. Someday I might do a true 4-season version that could have a third arch pole instead of a cross bar. It could come with a cross bar and a third arch, and then you could take whichever depending on the conditions. Thanks again for the kind words and putting this together. Glad you're liking the tent. - Dan
Thanks for watching and commenting Dan. You are one of the very few actual designer and manufacturer of gear who watches, listens and responds to people with feedback and that's appreciated. Also for taking the time to watch the entire video, I try to keep mine short but wanted to really get into the detail of the tent plus I was time limited on doing the two other reviews to had to integrate otherwise I could have shave ten minutes off 😂 I thought it was just me, but the magnets did feel stronger and attached and held better but didn't realise you'd upped them 👌 Fully understand about the door guy out if on a 2p but I think it could be a good option for a loop there so one could chose to use guy line or trekking pole either way. Also in my experience (as a novice as I'll always call myself 🤣) the majority of people who buy a 2p tent solo camp and just want extra space or for their dog. We have a saying un the uk, if you want a 1p tent, buy a 2p and if there's 2 of you get a 3p. So the second door rarely gets used and is more for gear storage in the spare vestibule to keep the working one clear but that's just me. I'd really appreciate a nod when the solid inner is available as it's the first thing I'd change on the tent specially in this country where our summer consists of 3 days in August. Atb Michael.
Hi Dan :) Bit of a long-shot question, but would you guys consider doing some sort of part-ex from a mesh to solid interior, come april? I'm a UK 3-season camper and as you alluded to above, I'm one of those who'd probably just use a solid interior all year round. I sold all my tents in anticipation of the X-Dome release so didn't have the option of waiting until April before buying. That being said, if the inner is likely to be quite a bit under 50% of the complete tent cost then maybe having both is no biggie! Thanks. P.S. I couldn't quite tell in this video, but are there line locs on all of the mid seam guy outs?
@toolemeister just jumping in here. The door bottom guy out and rear bottom guy out have line locks but the two side ones don't have any cordage at all just a loop. Also, if don't think Dan would do a part exchange. I'd wait till the solid comes out or just have both 👍
@NoviceWildCamper thanks for chiming in there, very helpful :) yeah I don't expect the answer to be yes, but my thought process was in relation to Durston Gear accepting used products back for partial refunds, I've read it on the site somewhere but cannot find the paragraph!
I’ve hopefully got this tent coming on Monday so great to see your review. For me this is going to be the ideal tent for long distance hikes, great low weight, small pitch area, good internal space for a tall camper and I’ll be using trekking poles so fantastic for most weathers. And will be a great summer tent with the inner only option. So a very versatile piece of kit, not a hilleberg but it’s not designed to be one.
I love them. I wear these and fjallraven and I think these are better tbh. I could do with them being an inch or two longer but apparently they're bringing out a longer option soon.
I don't know if the carbon fiber pole would bend as much if the guyline starting point was wrapped around it, like in Durston's instructional video. Now they went straight from the tent fabric to the sides. You can also check out the reliable wind data on the Windy website.
Yes I've seen that although dartmoor has it's own weather system. I've seen sun, rain. Then wind and snow in the same day on dartmoor. One of the reasons the sas train there
Great review! Thank you. One slight suggestion, per Dan Durston’s set up video, when you guy out the corners he recommends wrapping the loop around the pole before staking it out.
I know but he recommends that in either heavy snow or expected high winds and in my defence, the MET office are s#!t 🤣 Although you may have noticed it partially attempted it and I think due to how taught I had the pitch it was a bit short ti get round the poles however I will try it again next time 👍
Nice review, i recon the optional walking poles would definitely solve the problem with the side panel blowing in, i modified my old msr elixir 3 in the same manner using slotted pole mushrooms and it makes a hell of a difference to the stability of the pole structure 👍🏻
Great review and very even handed. Totally fair comments and good points about the guyout points. Hopefully Dan will see this and update on the next iteration.
By far the best review of this tent. Many thanks for putting it together. Once again a well thought out design by Dan and the team, and there's no doubt it will be a very popular tent for so many. It's not for me though, I tend to summit camp in the Lakes so I rely on my trusted Golite SL3 for that. For the milder months I love having the two doors with the X Mid 2, especially with having a dog with me.
Try wrapping the guy-outs one time around the vertical poles as this will strengthen the structure and take pressure off of the tent itself...the line attachment points are long for this reason.
Yeah the set up video dan did shows this to do in extreme conditions however I didn't think it would be that bad. Plus as I'd set it up taught it seemed a bit too tight but I'll try it again.
Impressive tent indeed , Dan thanks for your contribution , I would like to add it to my Hilleberg Soulo .. I am going to have to wait until April I guess . About the impressive flashlight .. unable to buy it from anywhere else that the U.K. unfortunately ... I guess that was the bad choice of getting out of the E.U , I had more products from the E.U who got charged at the border an additional 20%. It really sucks . I am afraid what the new luny on the block in the USA will do to the Import and the Exports to E.U . so Dan come fast with this new edition please.
For added support... I believe Dan showed in his setup vid, that wrapping the mid-corner guy-points around the poles will help the corners' stability (reducing the bowing-in issue you had).
@Bretthall8 true however I didn't believe the widn was that bad but also found them very tight to get round due to how taught I had the tent. Also I believe it's more aimed at snow loading rather than wind but I will try this next time I'm out 👍
It’s is a roomy tent but I see what you mean about the flat panel needing more support. The vestibule is large but the gap at the bottom makes for a bit of a breezy interior especially when using a mesh liner It withstood the winds of Dartmoor without collapsing..and that’s good. The little table is a great idea, I think the two pieces of the top should lock together Great video as always..take care ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks sue. I could have put a trekking pole there to support that back panel but I tentd not to bring them unless I've got a trekking pole tent so a guy out would be good. Thanks for watching as always 👍
Hi ,really nice video with lot of details like it, what do you think on the long day poor weather with an lot of raining ( more to 6hours rainy) do you think strong enough.? Or going have a leaking issue? And for cold weather like between-1/-5 degree still ok ? Many thanks for the quality video ❤
I think having the solid inner when its available will help with both of the above but having the x mid in horrific weather which is the same material I have no concerns over the outer holding up. The bathtub floor did feel thin to me so personally I'd use a ground sheet going forward.
I think the guidelines on the side would work more effectively against wind if it’s attached to the middle of the side panel instead of the top where the tent poles are. That would be a huge improvement in battling windy conditions.
Thanks for the review man. Was already getting it in the next batch but it’s just what I’m looking for. Want to replace my Terra Nova Laser 1 with the x-dome. Same weight but so much space in the x-dome. I have a Hilleberg Unna which I love and is a great 4 season tent. They actually have a slightly similar feel about them due to being able to open up the whole side of the tent. Anyway, thanks for the video. 😁
@@NoviceWildCamper Yeah the Unna is great, maybe not for everyone but as a solo tent it’s fantastic due to the internal space. I love the way you can open the whole side up if there’s no midges around!! And it feels pretty solid in the wind too. 😀
Awesome video! My poles weigh 250gms each so ill take a combined weight of 1.5kg for a 3 season tent. I use poles in the mountains anyway. PS: your table is better
@NoviceWildCamper easier for you to watch Dan's video at 10m 10s but basically loop is supposed to wrap around pole. Some Hillebergs use similar method
@rossATspiritburner no, I've seen it. It doesn't have to, he states its optional subject to weather and mainly to help with top snow loading. And either way, one, I wasn't expecting any wind let alone some strong gusts and two, it wouldn't stop the rear flat panel from bowing in, only the the side structural part. And to be honest, when pitched taught, that guy out loop is very hard to loop around the pole and puts a lot of inward pressure on it.
Yeah i know but even he states the same thing. Different designs require different set ups hence the hillies are designed specifically to do just that.
Yes it would as there would then be a solid bar top to bottom on that back panel. Had i known the wind was going to be that bad (typical uk and dartmoor weather as you never know) I should have brought them but in my mind I wasn't going extreme enough to warrant poles and really I want an ultralight free standing tent that doesn't require trekking poles that I only generally carry for a trekking pole tent.
I like the offset shape inner I always wished my x mid was like that somehow instead of the extra vestibule but the pole design for me is a deal breaker. Other brands I’ve seen with tri connectors I think are dodgy. Anyhoo I’m now used to the 500g x mid so I’m not about to double that. It’s nice tho
I agree that the more complex the design the more there is to go wrong. Time will tell on the pole design but I love the space without going for a 2p 👍
The missing solid section on the XDome is in the official product photo, so it's not a manufacturing error. I'm also not a big fan of that design, but Dan is working on a solid inner version.
@@NoviceWildCamper My understanding is that the tent was designed that way, so that there was a larger view of the outdoors from the inside of the tent.
Heaj dan just comments and said that. Once the solid inner comes out I'll be getting that and using this one just in summer. I noticed that section really let the cold wind through and was dead level with my torso so wasn't ideal for that camp.
Nice review of tent luckily for me im not getting anymore tents the pole bending wrapping the guy would have made that less but yes the extra guy point definitely would be needed.the space is really good. Tbh im not sold on carbon tent poles i much prefer alloy poles.but for people who dont use trekking poles is definitely a good alternative to the xmid.as for 4 seasons no it definitely isnt even tho i watched andy beavers use his in the snow and it was blowing underneath but as with most things some will be ok with that.but overall id say its a decent 3 season tent at a good weight and decent price.
I'm a bit late to this though a thought regarding that panel bowing in the wind. I bought Grip clips made by Gram Counter Gear from Ultralight Outdoorgear. Designed essentially for tarps but might help in this situation as well. I know there's a possibility of tents being misshapened by adding guy points as Dan said but thought I'd share the idea. I appreciate your thoughtful approach to your videos, thanks buddy.
Cheers buddy but I believe they clip to the edges don't they? There is a guy out point with line lock adjuster at the bottom but if you haven't got a rettking pole to pop in that side then another guy out in the middle of the panel would be great.
I'm pretty certain these Grip Clips can be used in anywhere on the material, not just the edges.. They have two parts and there's an oval hole to feed the material through which strongly locks the material in place.. It might be worthwhile getting in touch with Ultralight Gear for further information.
I've checked them out but personally I wouldn't use them on an ultralight tent. It could cause a week point in the material in high winds. I'd just use trekking poles instead or if Dan brings out a new upgrade with them already built in and tested.
So annoyingly I can't find a 3l pack but I'm sure that will be the right size. I'm going to order one and test it for the next video so keep an eye out as I may miss this comment to come back to you. 👍
So I just had a various size pack delivered. I can just squeeze it into the 3.5l but the 5l is probably just about right for rolling it properly closed. The sizing may not be accurate as they are a non branded set from amazon though.
@@durstongear double skin would be stunning - so as to keep a vestibule. The weight savings could go into heftier poles? I will line up for one of those.
Given your height (same as mine) I was hoping for a look at length and how close your nose and toes end up to the walls. In the past this has decided my tent for me (copper spur long) but it would be good to hear how you find the length
@jamesleehunter I normally get moaned at on my tent videos for always saying how tall I am and now I haven't I've had a few ask 🤣 i had zero issues in here with touching either end. The design works perfect for my size 👌👍
Why not go back to the huanted woods Dan with your new powerful torch that would be an interesting night? Might even find out what was causing all the noises .
Novice camper, I watch all your videos and find them very interesting , I particularly liked the one when you had night vision on and someone was throwing branches around. With that new torch you have you could illuminate the woods to see who was throwing branches around. Just an idea that’s all. Either way keep the videos coming I really enjoy them. Thank mate. Peter
How tall are you? I’m 6’6’’ and looking at getting one of these but hesitant to order one without being able to try it or getting opinions on it. The steep walls look a lot better than the xmid for usable length. Also is there much of a gap between the inner and outer if you were to touch the mesh?
I'm 6'4 and always get moaned at for mentioning it in my videos so the one time I don't........ 🤣 I reckon you'd just fit but on the note of the mesh touching, the only place i think there's an issue is at the back where I said another guy out line needs to be. Admittedly I accidentally lent my backpack against the rear panel which then got a bit wet because of the pack and also the wind hitting it from behind. The rest has a pretty good gap between the inner and outer.
Just bought the Lighttour mat . Be careful, the initial size says inflatable mat 200 x 64 x 90 but inflated it's only 188 x 60 x 80 . I'm 6' 3" and po'd.
@juliangilbert5637 hi mate. They say that it needs to be very highly inflated and takes a couple of uses for it to expand to that size. In all honesty, I'm 6'4 and I fit on it fine so mines defo at the 2m mark. You definitely ordered the large one?
To me the whole point in this tent is not generally having to use them. In extreme weather, if planned then yes you'd bring them however there was no real wind forecast originally. Good old dartmoor. Still it's good to see how it fairs without them.
Yeah but £400 for the Durston, plus poles and even then it doesn't make it a soulo really. Plus you can get them around £700 second hand so it's an option but I just don't fit in them.
them nice . but ive made the only mod my hillzero scout needed an now have the perfect tent :) made lil gearloft out a bandana n 2 pair bootlaces job dun heheh .. gear suggestion 4 all campers .. them little LED light strips w motion sensor n lil magnets on bk.. off ali ex... game changer 4 under quid each Y,W :) edit.. ok almost perfect ,, i aint sorted a floor for the porch ,,yet :) hmm.....
Hi Dave, the one I make? That's sold on outdoorgearessentials.co.uk/products/ultralight-camping-table but he's out of stock at the moment. I'm waiting for the materials to come in still so will be back in stock in a week or so.
You look Froze-2-Death….hope when you went out to piss during the night you pissed away from the WIND…lol. Clever little table. Regarding the tent…. I Do like the vestaview (sp). Enjoy your coffee!
Wrote that without watching end of vid🤦🏻♂️ you should be using trekking poles to save you knees anyways. Good vid. Im gonna get one.I think the market is gonna be flooded with 2nd hand xmids
🤣 yeah you want to buy my x mid? 😂 and i know i should. My problem is I'm generally carrying my pocket 3 and a drone or something so even when I've got poles they're normally attached to my pack 🙄
Excellent video Michael, sound review. I have a feeling Dan has been a busy man, this tent is obviously going to be very popular. I do feel you should consider contacting him regarding the lack of wind protection on the mesh door and other mentioned niggles. Regards L.
Cheers buddy. Check the comments as he's already watched. That's what I like about dan, he actually watched people's videos, even small channels like mine for feedback and makes a comment. Don't get that from anyone else 👍
Yeah i didn't do that as wasn't expecting high winds althoughndan recommends it more for snow loading. However I also pitched it really tight and noticed it was a tough squeeze to get it around the pole so also didn't want to distort it. I will play with it again on the next trip though 👍
Thanks for the kind words and in depth video. I watched all 37 min :)

It’s is a roomy tent but I see what you mean about the flat panel needing more support.
The vestibule is large but the gap at the bottom makes for a bit of a breezy interior especially when using a mesh liner
It withstood the winds of Dartmoor without collapsing..and that’s good.
The little table is a great idea, I think the two pieces of the top should lock together
Great video as always..take care ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks sue. I could have put a trekking pole there to support that back panel but I tentd not to bring them unless I've got a trekking pole tent so a guy out would be good. Thanks for watching as always 👍
Thank you for the review. Hopefully my tent will arrive before the worst snow comes, it is crossing the Atlantic at this time of writing.
@@GubbePaaTur hopefully we even see some snow down here 🤣 cheers buddy.
@NoviceWildCamper we do not have the "hopefully" when concerning snow in Norway 😂. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Brother.
@GubbePaaTur 🤣 I'm jealous. Wish we had normal seasons 🙄 generally just rain in winter
I love that flextail pillow also! Still deciding if I should get this now or wait and see if I need it in case there are later updates….
If it needs anything it's just the rear guy out i think.
Great review. Thank you.
Thanks buddy
Hi ,really nice video with lot of details like it, what do you think on the long day poor weather with an lot of raining ( more to 6hours rainy) do you think strong enough.? Or going have a leaking issue? And for cold weather like between-1/-5 degree still ok ?
Many thanks for the quality video ❤
I think having the solid inner when its available will help with both of the above but having the x mid in horrific weather which is the same material I have no concerns over the outer holding up. The bathtub floor did feel thin to me so personally I'd use a ground sheet going forward.
@ Many thanks for the answer ❤️
I think the guidelines on the side would work more effectively against wind if it’s attached to the middle of the side panel instead of the top where the tent poles are. That would be a huge improvement in battling windy conditions.
You mean at the cross over pole?
@@NoviceWildCamper yes! Cross pole. Had a brain fart there for me. :)
@L4mTr4n 🤣 yeah that's my suggestion but may not work on the door side and either side when the 2p comes out.
@ one definitely better than none on the solo. 😅 I think it might still be possible to guide out one panel of the door too.
@L4mTr4n well the x mid has them on the doors so 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for the review man.
Cheers buddy. I'm sure you'll love it. I quite fancy an unna as well 👌👍
@@NoviceWildCamper Yeah the Unna is great, maybe not for everyone but as a solo tent it’s fantastic due to the internal space.
🤣 thanks tom. I do like this table but yeah mines bigger and lighter. 👍
Which poles do u use ?
@@rodrev_hiking6757 Leki Makula Lite
2nd video I've seen with guys not deployed correctly. See Durysons set up video.
How are they not deployed correctly?
@NoviceWildCamper long as it works for you. It's old pre Durston craft & if tight the guy itself can be the wrap.
Yeah i know but even he states the same thing. Different designs require different set ups hence the hillies are designed specifically to do just that.
So, would the hiking poles integration with the affected tent panels have helped?
Yes it would as there would then be a solid bar top to bottom on that back panel. Had i known the wind was going to be that bad (typical uk and dartmoor weather as you never know) I should have brought them but in my mind I wasn't going extreme enough to warrant poles and really I want an ultralight free standing tent that doesn't require trekking poles that I only generally carry for a trekking pole tent.
My perfect tent
@@scottgraham2962 you've not even watched it yet 🤣
😅
Yeah i checked after my camp. Wierd design and I don't understand the reason behind it. I'll probably be ordering the solid version when it's out 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper My understanding is that the tent was designed that way, so that there was a larger view of the outdoors from the inside of the tent.
Heaj dan just comments and said that. Once the solid inner comes out I'll be getting that and using this one just in summer. I noticed that section really let the cold wind through and was dead level with my torso so wasn't ideal for that camp.
The “that’s what she said” joke completely caught me off guard😂
🤣👍
Nice review of tent luckily for me im not getting anymore tents the pole bending wrapping the guy would have made that less but yes the extra guy point definitely would be needed.the space is really good. Tbh im not sold on carbon tent poles i much prefer alloy poles.but for people who dont use trekking poles is definitely a good alternative to the xmid.as for 4 seasons no it definitely isnt even tho i watched andy beavers use his in the snow and it was blowing underneath but as with most things some will be ok with that.but overall id say its a decent 3 season tent at a good weight and decent price.
Yeah he showed that it could work but i would want something more extreme in those conditions.
What size of compression sack should I get for the X-Dome?
PS Expecting my Durston X-Dome momentarily.
I'll check later. Probably 3l but I've got a few to try
So annoyingly I can't find a 3l pack but I'm sure that will be the right size. I'm going to order one and test it for the next video so keep an eye out as I may miss this comment to come back to you. 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper Thanks for checking!
So I just had a various size pack delivered. I can just squeeze it into the 3.5l but the 5l is probably just about right for rolling it properly closed. The sizing may not be accurate as they are a non branded set from amazon though.
@NoviceWildCamper I just purchased a 5L on AliExpress. Thanks!
I’m hoping that DD produces a 2x person version in DCF.
Looking at their history he probably will. Single skin would be massive inside that tent 👌
Do you want a DCF version to be single or double skin?
@@durstongear double skin would be stunning - so as to keep a vestibule. The weight savings could go into heftier poles? I will line up for one of those.
@@chrishamilton2527 I hope to do this. It'll take some time.
@@durstongear thank you for taking the time to respond. If you can keep my contact details I shall be there when that day comes. Best wishes.
Who's dan?
And I went back with night vision and thermal cameras already 👍
Novice camper, I watch all your videos and find them very interesting , I particularly liked the one when you had night vision on and someone was throwing branches around. With that new torch you have you could illuminate the woods to see who was throwing branches around. Just an idea that’s all. Either way keep the videos coming I really enjoy them.
Thank mate. Peter
@sandrap6224 cheers buddy 👍
Caravan for you lad
Just bought the Lighttour mat . Be careful, the initial size says inflatable mat 200 x 64 x 90 but inflated it's only 188 x 60 x 80 . I'm 6' 3" and po'd.
@juliangilbert5637 hi mate. They say that it needs to be very highly inflated and takes a couple of uses for it to expand to that size. In all honesty, I'm 6'4 and I fit on it fine so mines defo at the 2m mark. You definitely ordered the large one?
What pack are you using? Looks like an Osprey?
No, fjallraven friluft 45 👍👌
I'd say if you want a kuiu storm star with alloy poles for true 4 seasons
Yeah I like those
Now is the moment to reprise Lemmy's classic (which we all know was originally called 'The Ace of Pegs'.. 🤣👍🏻
😂 pegs we're the best part 🤣
Was that the Neo you were using at the beginning buddy ?. Great shots 👌
Yes mate. I do like it but the quality isn't great. Handy little thing though for quick shots
@NoviceWildCamper I bought the goggles and controller to use with mine. OMG, it's fun flying fpv 😊💪
@grossi46 yeah looks fun
Why not use the trekking poles for the side panels in your test?
To me the whole point in this tent is not generally having to use them. In extreme weather, if planned then yes you'd bring them however there was no real wind forecast originally. Good old dartmoor. Still it's good to see how it fairs without them.
@NoviceWildCamper north america tents in the UK need bells and whistles on by default
But then I'd just buy a hilleberg soulo.
@@NoviceWildCamper fancy pants! Tents a grand!
Yeah but £400 for the Durston, plus poles and even then it doesn't make it a soulo really. Plus you can get them around £700 second hand so it's an option but I just don't fit in them.

Hi Dave, the one I make? That's sold on outdoorgearessentials.co.uk/products/ultralight-camping-table but he's out of stock at the moment. I'm waiting for the materials to come in still so will be back in stock in a week or so.
@NoviceWildCamper yes, that's it. Also will get the windshield. That new metal one is too small for a remote canister stove. Cheers buddy
Cracking show around the tent, first detailed video i seen so far. Really is a good looking bit of kit. Got me wanting one even more now 😂.
@2pegsshort 🤣 cheers bud. Get your name down 👍
You look Froze-2-Death….hope when you went out to piss during the night you pissed away from the WIND…lol.
Clever little table. Regarding the tent…. I Do like the vestaview (sp). Enjoy your coffee!
🤣 yeah had to make sure my aim was right 👍
Shame you didht take trekking poles because I think that would have combated the wind on the sides
Nah mate I already got 2 xmids
Excellent video Michael, sound review. I have a feeling Dan has been a busy man, this tent is obviously going to be very popular. I do feel you should consider contacting him regarding the lack of wind protection on the mesh door and other mentioned niggles. Regards L.
Cheers buddy. Check the comments as he's already watched. That's what I like about dan, he actually watched people's videos, even small channels like mine for feedback and makes a comment. Don't get that from anyone else 👍
An informative look at the tent. Thank you. I've seen that extra bit of mesh you pointed out in other videos and images.
@Collected1 thanks buddy. Yeah I checked after too. Seems to be the normal spec. Odd really 🤔
Are you paying for pegs that you might not use or being charged for pegs that you will never get? People can look at it different ways.
@@LeaveMyFreedomBe pegs are optional
Wrap your guy lines around your poles, helps with stability.
Nice vid bud
Yeah i didn't do that as wasn't expecting high winds althoughndan recommends it more for snow loading. However I also pitched it really tight and noticed it was a tough squeeze to get it around the pole so also didn't want to distort it. I will play with it again on the next trip though 👍
