It’s so funny how Ellie runs past the camera and turns her head to look in the lens. It’s like she’s saying, “hi everybody, look at me running in the snow”. 🐕 She’s priceless 😊
Your explanation why you needed to be careful as you took off your clothing, because you were sweating in the cold, is one of the main reasons I became a Patreon. The information you provide about the wilderness is life-saving. May the Lord grant your family, Ellie and you many years.
Loved the video Jack with you and Ellie. I couldnt ever imagine you not bringing her with you on these trips. My Lily is 7 and just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Shes always with me and beside me and its a reminder that we can never take for granted how loved we are by our fur babies.
Its great Lily has her own sleeping bag. Does she stay in it all night ? I enjoy your camping adventures. I love Minnesota and Wisconsin. Your sleeping bag probably just needs a good bag liner to insolate it. Less expensive than an entire new bag. I took along a heavy hudson bay style blanket one year to sleep on to add to my bottom pad. It made a major difference. Enjoy. I'll tune in next video. I really enjoy yours.
Just in time for your new episode just keep everything warm in the cabin with Ellie take care and stay safe both of you until next time Thank You. 🐕🏔🏞🏔🇺🇲
As always, I enjoy your videos. Most of all I love it when you're ready to set out on and find a spot and you let Ellie go before you there's so much joy. That dog is living his best life. A lesson for us all.
The pines and the snowy scenery is so beautiful! Anything you and Ellie do together makes a perfect video! I just love Ellie all snuggled up in her sleeping bag ❤. I don’t think I’m hearty enough for that kind of cold but I sure love watching you do it! I would love a weekend in the A frame!
Greetings from East Tennessee! Never underestimate what you provide to so many! I grew up camping with family all over the smoky mtns and Western NC which is still struggling after helene! Riley is so beautiful and Olivia us our hope for the future but Ellie.....the way she runs ahead of you to "show you the way dad" is so amazing!!! Just really live for the breaks you give us from the real world!!!
Hey Jack and Ellie! Nice little overnight trip but yep, the cold can't be denied! Brrrr Ellie looked so adorable sporting her winter jacket...rock it girlfriend!😁Lol So glad she wasn't spooked this time by any noises outside and that she was warm in her sleeping bag. Give Ellie some love for me and tell the family "hello"...Big hugs from Texas!!🐾😍😇🤩
Hey Jack & Ellie. Thanks for another amazing festive episode. It looks bone-chilling in Northern Minnesota and it's just perfect to watch as I've just got comfy.
Wow! Those were definitely some towering pines. That was a really nice shelter. I loved that you tied in the love of sitting by the glow and warmth of a fire with being thankful for home and family. What better way to express what family feels like. A glowing warmth. 💕
Magnificent and wonderful. Ellie is such jewel. What a wonderful companion she is. Her spunk to get the cabin was awesome. Another amazing adventure. Thanks for bringing us along. Have been in one of those before. We have several in our region that have older barrel stoves in them. They really heat the places up. God bless you both and the family.
I just love these videos! My mom was from International Falls, so I'm always happy to see you up north! Plus, I am an unabashed dog fan, so I love watching Ellie! Clearly, she loves these adventures!❤❤❤
It was a mild summer here in good ole Texas as it never reached 100 where I live. I have even burned the wood stove already a few times and just turned the heat and AC off. Ellie look like she had a good time as always… it is so good to see her running around. I made a big pot of Hoover Stew for dinner… right up there with goulash on a colder night. I miss winter camping back home in Wyoming… but… sleeping cold is no fun. I bought a heavy flannel and canvas -30 sleeping bag and it is fantastic for a warm nights sleep. Too heavy for back pack trips… but, I do not go remote in the dead of winter. I know arriving at camp with some firewood is a blessing. Thank you again for sharing your time. God bless
You're a brilliant and experienced man! I didn't know that sweating in the cold would harm our bodies. Ellie was very happy to run to the shelter. It's a beautiful place, and it's really winter, as you said. Thank you for the video. May God bless you and your family.
Sweet Ellie-girl was on her "A" game this camping trip. She was leading the pack with great joy, especially being with her Papa Jack and running in the snow. Thank you for a beautiful camping adventure. Stay warm, take care and be safe. Big hugs to you all from chilly Florida! 😊💖🙏❄☃
As par usual; Excellent Video! Thank you for freezing early morning, no fire &only heating up water for yr coffee! Dang, that would have been super cold for sure! Thanks for sharing Jack & God Bless to You, Ellie & your Girl's! Much respect & Love. Can't wait until the next one! Xo ❤🙏💜✨
As someone whos never seen snow before, I really appreciate these frosty camp videos, my mind is able to imagine what it must be like to be in a winter wonderland as our brutal Aussie summer approaches, cheers mate! 🍻
In my 30s, I’d’ve done this. At 62, I don’t think so. Ellie is just soooooosweet in her sleeping bag!! She looks like she slept just fine! Much love!! ☮️💕
Hello Jack and Ellie. My goodness it's beautiful there. It tickles me to see Ellie be so excited when running on the trails. I'm afraid that it would have been a bit to cold for me. I believe that they make sleeping bags that are good to -20° now that's my kind of sleeping bag. Tell Riley that I love Goulash too. And I like making it. I also love nice hot Chili in the winter. Love you all so much, give Olivia and Ellie a big hug from me. ❤
Your videos are so good and entertaining. Great edits, stories and voice overs. Love your sweet little family including Ellie. I feel like I'm watching a PBS documentary. Keep up the great work and top notch content!
Beautiful scenery!! You are always so prepared and knowledgeable about how to be safe and get firewood. Your shelter cabin looks so cozy and warm with your stove , lots of firewood that you found and chopped and your lanterns! You are timely when you get your shelter and fire set up. Nice cot, but unfortunate that your sleeping bag wasn’t warm . Sweet Elliie in her warm gear. Coffe looks and sounds delicious. So efficient packing up and leaving the shelter prepared for the next camper! You are a very grateful man!
Thanks as always, for taking us along. It may be a joy for you making these VLOGs … but it’s also a joy for us to just watch them and enjoy the travels and adventures! Beautiful place … great use of the open faced survival shelter! God bless! 🙏🙌✝️✡️❤️🇨🇦
This video is so uplifting and full of tranquility. Just a man and his faithful canine companion enjoying the peacefulness of nature. Thank you for sharing these wonderful moments with us❤
Oh my goodness Jak nd Ellie! U two are like tortillas nd beans, just meant to be together nd give so much Gusto to da Vida! Sorri for ur sleeping bag being prolly to thin to keep u snug as a bug Jak.....but the lil fire goin and ur coffee makes it that much better my Brother! Miss Riley nd Oilivia The prettiest gals on This Earth !!! ❤❤❤❤ Stay Safe nd God Bless
As always, awesome camp, dude! I clicked on your vid as soon as the notification appeared on my screen ( I interrupted a vid I was already watching) yet there were just over 120 like already! Just goes to show how popular you are! Keep up the good work!
It's so white n the lake is freezing, I enjoyed the view from my warm chamber. I couldn't imagine if were there must b under zero Celsius degrees. Well stay health n stay safe c U on the next journey 🙋🙋🙋
Great video Jack! Putting up the tarp on the front to close the gap was a good idea. If it was me I would have gotten that stove piping hot to keep it warm in there. I think we may have the same taste in food 😂. I eat steak and potatoes soup all the. And love goulash! Last night my wife made some homemade chili on a cold night and it was awesome! I count my blessings everyday too! Hope you have a great week! Looking forward to the next adventure.
Jack, I am surprised you were able to ride your bike on the trail. Like "A river runs through it," at Missoula. That was a nice snug looking little shelter for you and Ellie 🐕 to camp at, in a winter❄️ wonderland. You, my friend, are a roughed, tough, brave man to go on the adventures you do, buddy!!! Thanks
Thanks for another entertaining video. My wife and I like to watch your videos. We actually "stole" one of your ideas. I recently built a garden shed. One of the finishing touches was adding two little oil lanterns, just like on your mini cabin! :) Keep up the good work!
Hi, from Ontario, Canada! I love how brave you are to try something different, through this early part of Winter...lol...I would be terrified! Ellie, is the best. I love your bike and wagon combo. I wish you had something for heat, as a backup because, there is nothing worse than freezing your butt off! I would have slept in the truck😀
Thanks for sharing this amazing journey n adventure with me Jack. Looks very cold 🥶 which its cold 🥶 here in Michigan also just hit us !! . Stay Warm n Safe Always. God Bless Ya'll Always From Your Friend In Michigan Tam ❤️ ♥️ 💕 💖 💓 💗 ❤️ ♥️
Great video, love the screen shelter, maybe a wool blanket over the screen will hold your heat in better, I stayed in a stone house without central heat in Scotland with snow on the ground, only one wool blanket, amazing how wool keeps you warm. Ellie just loved running in the snow. God bless.
That area where you camped was sure pretty. I'm not a cold weather camper, but would do it if I could stay warm! Ellie looked so cute when she was in her sleeping bag. We're in a bit of a cold front with temps in the 30's during the day, and in the 20's at night. I live in Washington State on the eastern side.
Another great vid! As a xc skier, I can assure that is more than enough snow to ski on, dont know if those trails you were on get groomed for skiing though. If you haven’t tried out the sport I highly recommend it!
I love these back-to-basics videos in public shelters, you show us the comfort it's possible to achieve, even in extreme Winter temperatures (surprising that sleeping bag let you down!) And as you said, it's a great 'Ground Zero' experience which reminds us all of how luxurious your self built, portable cabins, and of course permanent structures like homes, are. Everything is relative! Great to see Ellie running like the wind and living her best life with you in middle age. What a wonderful, cheerful and robust little companion she is! Loved her stylish sleep-suit, and her cosy sleeping bag, you always take such beautiful care of her, as the beloved family member she is. Respect! Also impressed at the heap of chopped logs you left for the next visitor, a precious resource in Winter. You always pay it forward on camping trips, and it says so much about you. My one reservation about these open front shelters, is they wouldn't be a safe option for lone female travellers. Though I guess in America many of you travel with guns! Thanks for sharing another entertaining adventure Jack. Oh, and can we possibly have your beautiful Riley's recipe for goulash please? It looked delicious! I bet many of us would love to have it. XXX
Here I am like every Tuesday for Wednesday another spectacular video in the middle of nature and also snowy, a big hug from Spain and where you are from, I admire you with all my heart
Cool beans a new video looks cold my guy.I live in Hilton Head SC it's gonna get in the mid 30's tonight but back in the high 60's 70' by the weekend. You and your family take care
Once again Jack thank you so much for sharing these experiences with us all. So grateful that you enjoy these adventures because few of us would ever be so brave as to subject ourselves to such a harsh environment on a regular basis. Something that resonates with me particularly is the cultural difference. We here in Western Europe do not understand the camp fire habit. We are indoors or outdoors. During the summer BBQ’s are the only time we would light fires outside. Except for November 5th in the UK. Occasionally for a tiny minority this would occur out of season but it’s rare. For me it is fascinating to watch. Keep it coming and thank you.
A great idea get a heavy duty canvas tarp and install a pipe Jack for the chimney and sew a zip door and maybe a plastic window using good hooks to hold it up to get a good seal have you noticed the colder is gets the easier it is to split fire wood . Need a longer flue pipe so it drafts better .
This was a very cozy video. I was so relaxed just like Ellie 🐕 We finally had snow and like you said the weather change over night. Say hello to Rylie and Olivia! God bless and happy trails 🤗🏕💕
My day is now complete how fitting that today we had our first snowfall the day this video dropped. Thank you for this lovely content me & my family can enjoy. Happy holidays to you Ellie & your sweet family.
My goodness, the way Ellie lead the way running like a puppy full speed ahead made me smile. These adventures are making her younger!
It’s so funny how Ellie runs past the camera and turns her head to look in the lens. It’s like she’s saying, “hi everybody, look at me running in the snow”. 🐕 She’s priceless 😊
Haha she is 😅👍🏽
I know right !! i thought i was the only one noticing Lol She so cute wen she does that :))

Loved the video Jack with you and Ellie. I couldnt ever imagine you not bringing her with you on these trips. My Lily is 7 and just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Shes always with me and beside me and its a reminder that we can never take for granted how loved we are by our fur babies.

It’s ok, you’ll still sweat in the cold when doing activity lol as a Minnesotan 6 2 dude, you’ll be fine. Little extreme to say you’ll get hypothermia
That's why I love living in northern Minnesota you can have that City Life I'll take the woods life any day
Great adventure jack and ellie! Thanks for bringing us along. What a cool place to stay.
Thanks Jack for the adventure you and Ellie had. I know you enjoyed it.

Such a great intro, once again.
Howdy! It’s definitely an experience. I was just warm enough to sleep thankfully 😊👍🏽
Campbell’s soup needs to sponsor you, Jack!! Another great video!!

Thanks for the video. Very good!
Our pleasure!
Hey Jack and Ellie, great video as usual. Was expecting to see your broken fork. 😊
Haha I still have it!
Love it when only the 2 of you go out camping. You definitely have a bond with Ellie. And it's clear you are her favourite person. ❤
She’s the best ❤️🐕
