A few things here… Yours (and mine) are print errors. That’s why there are a hundred and some odd issues missing from the cover gallery. I agree that this issue was pretty bad compared to the rest and it feels very much like filler (which is even crazier since it’s literally an anniversary special issue??) I feel like Ahmed is meandering away from the main point of this story, which to me, is the 7 Deadly Sins angle. It may not be my favorite “type” of DD story, but it’s unique and would have loved to see it. But that plot isn’t going anywhere at this point! Ugh. I don’t see this run lasting any longer than 18 issues TOPS.
The "Life In Hell's Kitchen" was a parody of "Life In Hell", a comic strip that Matt Groening worked on long before he created The Simpsons". Oh, and it's "Nancy and Sluggo".
I'm a couple of issues behind, but I have been really enjoying the most recent Daredevil run. Feels a bit fresh and 'classic' (more street level instead of a global threats) and I also LOVE Kuder's art. The writing itself reminds me a lot of Ann Nocenti's run. I do completely agree about Matt's death/Elektra pieces. Makes me feel like I've forgotten how Chip's run ended, but it's probably a story beat that will get addressed soon (??). $10 for this sounds outrageous, but I'm not firing the book yet!
I don’t know how badly it affects the issue but I know it has been recalled due to missing a bunch of pages but don’t know how widespread that actually is. Maybe that’s why it starts so abruptly? Although it might just be that it’s badly written also
Jr Jr's work had a point where it was strong and reliable, but that was some years ago. The last time I really enjoyed him as a fan was on Kick-Ass. As for the writing and art, this is the current generation of talent. I've become very careful with how I spend my money on comics because of the mediocre talents.
I enjoyed Black Armor Daredevil run (2023) by D.G. Chichester Too Bad it was only 4 issues! I stopped reading after that … It’s a vicious boring cycle - The Hand, Kingpin, Bullseye, and Elektra. Love the Character and all the suits but the comics are just in a funk right now and needing a reset.
I love daredevil as a character but i dislike many of his comics bcs it always feels the same story. Daredevil loses seemingly everything just to get back up again. Or he just looses seemingly everything. I really enjoyed chip zdarskeys run early on with know fear etc bcs it seemed like it was finally gonna go further in terms of matt learning to heal but then…. Yeah i feel like daredevil needs to move past broken matt and make a story about him truly healing past the trauma and guilt that defines him
Daredevil used to be THE book of gritty, crime noir, street level heroics. I’m not surprised with the agenda to destroy every male character in comics, that Marvel is doing this to Matt. It’s all tragic if you think about it. Worst era in comics history.
Self loathing isn’t the defining characteristic of Daredevil
Funny enough, the Chip Zdarsky run made me a fan of daredevil
That's why Miller's, Nocenti's, Smith's, Bendis', Brubaker's, Waid's and Zdarsky's runs are the best of the character.
Smith’s 😳😳
@@capshypixel Kevin Smith's arc, I mean
so almost all runs afer miller?
even if you liked issue 8, was it really worth $9.99? and even if so, marvel couldn’t even print it correctly (as there were a few pages left out)

Awesome review... I haven't read any of this series, but I get the gist of it immediately from your comments! Thanks for saving me some money 👌

Good to know, thank you!

Did anyone expect this run to be good?

I liked issue 8 but holy crap why did it have to be 9.99, give us a deal to celebrate the 60th anniversary
Jrjr is so hit or miss for me man. While his dd covers look great his ongoing spiderman is ugly
But haven’t read the new dd yet cuz i have to read zdarsky first

I got issue #1 then dropped it.
Totally fair, you’re not missing much

That's what daredevil is
10 bucks of corny…yikes! You’re right though, the artwork is good.
an amazing video title, sir. lol
Lol thanks! Great work on your videos, I love to see the support for indies 👌

Art is the reason I read it lol I'm thinking about dropping it for money reason
Fair, my pull list has been waaaay too expensive lately
I just dropped it, I'm not paying $10 for a floppy with reprint filler. I love Kuders art though. Hopefully he gets a better title.
agreed with most of what you said Kurt. It was, truly, rather bland.
Nothing annoys me more than a comic that seems to have a lack of direction 😕
Bullseye and Kingpin.......... Again 🤦♂
Def not digging the art so much so insta pass for me.
