Thanks for this video. I'm sure I'll watch it again as I work on my machines.

Nice to see how easy was to put back together. I am learning a big lesson here; just take apart on section if needed and put it back inmidiate before forgetting.
I am experiencing ptsd for 3 days trying to put back the parst of my 31-15. Learning thru pain 😅😭😰.

I feel your pain! Lol! I'm not sure easy is the right word though. Honestly, you should see the outtakes of me arguing with the screws because they refuse to go back in their holes 😆 I might post a few as shorts sometime. Anyway, my motto is a mantra that my Dad instilled in me from a very young age - if it ain't broke don't fix it. It might look mucky, or rattle a bit more than it should... but if it's working leave it alone. Try taking pictures as you go. That can help get pieces back where they should be... post-it notes and ziplock bags (snappy bags) can keep your parts in one place too. 🙂

@@SimplyStitchy Girl done that, I just forgot remind my brain why I was doing that for 🤣🤣🤣. I got 5 more machines and haven't touch them 😐. They will stay like that until I finished my first group. Almost there just detailing.

So overall what do you think of the 66? I'm a bit meh with mine, it's a bit boring and because I use 15s all the time I can't help but get rather hypnotised with the take up lever as I'm sewing on it 😵‍💫 😅

Lol! I've been smacked in the head by a take-up lever before now... getting in too close to see what I'm doing 😆The Singer 66 is ok but I also find it a bit meh. To be honest, I prefer the Singer 99. It's basically the 66 only smaller... and a lot lighter! Given the choice though, I'd be hard-pressed to choose either machine over the 15... not sure why... I feel a video idea coming on 😆 Thanks for the inspiration 😀

Hi. I have a singer sewing machine machine serial number starting ED and I can’t figure out how to thread the bobbin. It drops in from the top and not from the side like the oscillating one or the swinging shuttle style. Please help

So the bobbin is round? Without knowing the rest of your serial number I can only guess that your machine is either a 66. 99. 201. 185... I'm going with 66. Have a look at this video: ua-cam.com/video/Kb2tTubfkmw/v-deo.html it covers the 99 but it's the same machine just smaller. Or try this one: ua-cam.com/video/nOLAYiCt29I/v-deo.html let me know how you get on.

I hope you can help me. I've changed my needle many times before but for some reason I just can't get the needle to go in . I watched your video but I still can't get it all the way up

The first thing to do is check your manual. Are you putting the needle in the right way around? For a Singer 66 like mine, the needle needs to be flat side facing the pillar. Or flat to right. The needle groove in the needle bar isn't central. It's off-set and positioned a little bit to the left. If it helps, put the eye of the needle down into the hole in the needle plate and then push it straight up. That should help you align the needle. Make sure it goes all the way up. You can check this. Look on the left side of the needle bar, there should be a gap just above the needle clamp - you should be able to see the top of the needle. Second, check your needle. Are they made by a brand name like Organ, Schmetz, Klasse? Or are they a shop's own brand? Sometimes the cheaper non branded needles are the wrong size and don't fit. Try swapping the needle out for a different one. Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on. 🙂
