I already bought 4 USBs (32GB each) to share some Linux distros before I saw this video. I guess I can gift the other 3 as I only need one after all. I immediately subscribed after having a grasp of the quality tech education this beautiful fellow gives! Thank you!
great video, thanks, Please note: user can't partition the drive before installing Ventoy, partitions will be deleted during the installation UNLESS, user select the partition option from within Ventoy installation file (3rd option in the drop down list)... One more thing, windows iso files are larger than 4Gb means we can't use FAT32 format option, we have to select either NTFS or exFAT in Ventoy menu before installing the software
I think Rufus is undefeated as ventoy fails a lot especially with windows 7, 10, ventoy appears to be unreliable and probably incompatible with legacy systems
Thank you, ventoy has become a savior of mine, rufus just doesn't work for every single laptot that i tried to use it on, endless loading, but ventoy works just perfectly fine. Thanks again.
As with making a regular bootable USB, you would download the ISO file from the OS' website. So Ubuntu.com is you want the ISO file for Ubuntu or Microsoft.com if you want the ISO file for Windows 11...
The Ubuntu ISO file that I put on the drive is used to install Ubuntu onto my SSD. You can test out the OS by clicking try Ubuntu, like I did in this video which will give you full functionality of the OS, but any files you create or programs you install will be erased once the computer restarts. The main purpose of Ventoy is store all of your ISO files for installing different operating systems onto your computer or use them live off of the USB (the OS is stored in RAM and everything is erased when the PC restarts). I do believe it is possible to setup a partition or virtual hard disk on your Ventoy USB so that everything is saved when booting to a live OS, but I've never tried it myself. I've always used Rufus for that.
nah its just a live environment for tryin out the distro and no its not possible to download ubuntu on a pendrive [live os runs just on ram so when u plug it out its all erased ]
Ya well, I created that Ventoy USB. I put several operating systems on it. Now, I don't know if it was the Ventoy or something else, but I could not install my Zorin Linux distro with it. The Win 10 distro was erased but then the Linux distro would not boot to the hard disk, so I ended up using it on the USB stick until I could re-install Win 10 again. It said something about partitions which is above my pay grade anyway. So I will stick with Win 10 even when they stop the support for it. I'm 78 years old now so Win 10 will probably outlast me for sure. I even miss Win 7. I just hate the monopoly Microsoft has!
Please explain what the other files on the ventoy downloads you showed us do Plugson and vlink. Also, whats on the big ventoy iso download, they don't explain.
i have win 10 on my PC. Created Ventoy bootbale and put Win 10 ISO. When i restarted , I selected Boot option UEFI: Store and Go PMAP, Partition 2. Got error : Verification failed (0K1A) Security Violation
Hello HTG. I couldn't figure out how to ask a question about a subject that has NOTHING to do with this vid. My apologies. Here's the question: I see you have an ROC computer. I just bought one. Is there any way to turn off the interior lighting permanently? I have my reasons for wanting them off. BTW, Love your vids, very informational and to the point. Thanks!
In the BIOS you can go to the advanced tab > ROG Effects and turn off Onboad LED. If the lighting is coming from RGB fans or other components, you'll probably need to turn it off in a software like Asus Aura Sync.
This is the one that can be use on reinstalling windows right? Bec my laptop got a problem of automatic repair loop and my only option is to reinstall windows bec it doesn't have admin
I'm a newbie here. If we checked ✔️ the secure boot support from the Ventoy, can we operate using this Pendrive on pc that does not have secure boot enabled?
I used Ventoy for Ubuntu MATÉ 18.02. It worked fine. When I tried it recently, I got the error message that only root could write to the USB drive, rendering Ventoy useless.
When ventoy usb stick was plugged in and restart nothing happen,it got stuck at a windows page that says press delete for setup something, but when pressed nothing happen.
Wait what 6:09 I don't want to install Ubuntu into SSD ? I thought you were making a dual boot pendrive. And inside pendrive we need to install the os. Right ? Please tell if anyone know this.
selecting mbr in the ventoy setup allows you to use ventoy on computers that support mbr or uefi. as long as you choose to boot your usb in uefi mode in the boot menu (you can see at 5:12 it says uefi next to my usb) then it will install the gpt version of your os.
Is it possible to create a partition on the flash drive that I can use for persistent storage? So like if I boot into Hiren's and want to create a clone of a disk and store it on the same thumb drive...
Everyone that wants to learn "how to create a multi-bootable Ventoy USB" should watch your beautiful video!
Thank you for this tutorial, very helpful for a noob. I had tried Balena Etcher multiple times but got too many fails, Ventoy worked a treat.

What do you sugger to have one usb key with everything mbr bios - uefi gpt ? 32 64 with every windows
Maybe only rufus ? -.- But I think it can be a trouble.. I'll do many test for sure. I want All in one hehe
Hey Kyle, thanks for this! This is really handy and easier than Rufus. Great channel man.
I think Rufus is undefeated as ventoy fails a lot especially with windows 7, 10, ventoy appears to be unreliable and probably incompatible with legacy systems

did u erase ur c drive during the linux installation? try making a partition on ur windows install first n then seperately mount the iso onto it
what a nice tool ventoy is. I wish I would have known it earlier
Will MBR be bootable in modern current UEFI boot option menu? Why not GPT?
Nice ventoy software for making a multi bootable pen drive thanks
thanks! such a lifesaver :)
Please explain what the other files on the ventoy downloads you showed us do Plugson and vlink. Also, whats on the big ventoy iso download, they don't explain.

Great video sir.
Since the Ventoy boot partition is set to MBR, can it install OS on PCs with UEFI partition style?
I have the same question.
Great job done bro.
Great tutorial
Thx. Why did you use FAT32 instead NTFS ?
i have win 10 on my PC. Created Ventoy bootbale and put Win 10 ISO. When i restarted , I selected Boot option UEFI: Store and Go PMAP, Partition 2. Got error : Verification failed (0K1A) Security Violation
What is the difference if we just turn off the secure boot in the ventoy setup
It will not boot if you use it in a computer with a secure boot is turned on in the bios settings.
How do you put a shutdown/rebot function on the custom theme in ventoy?
when his screen turned green i thought something was wrong with my computer lol
Thank you so much!
Why does the USB initially need to be formatted to FAT32?
If Ventoy performs a format as well.
is it persistance like what we do on those iso ?

How di you tweek it to display the default icons for windows and linux?
This is the one that can be use on reinstalling windows right? Bec my laptop got a problem of automatic repair loop and my only option is to reinstall windows bec it doesn't have admin
perfect 💫
I'm a newbie here. If we checked ✔️ the secure boot support from the Ventoy, can we operate using this Pendrive on pc that does not have secure boot enabled?
If I download Windows 11 this way will I be able to keep all of my old files? Or do I have to redownload everything?
No need to format. Ventoy will format as EXFAT.
@TheHowToGuy123 Hello, How did you prepare the memtest.iso ?
can i ask, do i need to use rufus to all iso b4 putting inside the flash drive, thank you
Difference between Normal boot/Grub2
MBR for more compatibility. right?
I used Ventoy for Ubuntu MATÉ 18.02. It worked fine. When I tried it recently, I got the error message that only root could write to the USB drive, rendering Ventoy useless.
just want to ask how to go back to your original OS?
Where did you get the files you just jumped that part
excellent video!
Bro, what's the app with diamond shape border of app icon shortcuts in your windows?
When ventoy usb stick was plugged in and restart nothing happen,it got stuck at a windows page that says press delete for setup something, but when pressed nothing happen.
It a very helpful for mee
Wait what 6:09 I don't want to install Ubuntu into SSD ? I thought you were making a dual boot pendrive. And inside pendrive we need to install the os. Right ? Please tell if anyone know this.
Ubuntu was just an example for the video.
Ubuntu, was never installed to my SSD. I was just testing the full is running off of the ventoy usb.
does this support MacOS?
So in this video you are creating multiboot OS on MBR partition. A separate USB is needed for GPT partition right?
selecting mbr in the ventoy setup allows you to use ventoy on computers that support mbr or uefi. as long as you choose to boot your usb in uefi mode in the boot menu (you can see at 5:12 it says uefi next to my usb) then it will install the gpt version of your os.
Most GPT system supports the deprecated MBR as an extra option. So chances are that even GPT systems will work on the MBR formatted drive
Will this work on a usb 2.0?
Is it possible to create a partition on the flash drive that I can use for persistent storage? So like if I boot into Hiren's and want to create a clone of a disk and store it on the same thumb drive...
I know it is possible, but I haven't tried it myself.
Does it remove pc requirements for windows 11?
This is a life saver app
do I need to make 2 diffent USB, one with MBR and another with EUFI ??
Can i use win 11 iso in this ventoy for unsupported hardware?
How to proceed when it again boot after copying files it start from process one
