Mike Bellevue has a great history and shooting channel. Blackie Thomas, however, has the absolute best channel about the practicalities, ownership and everyday use of cap and ball revolvers. Mike dresses up in awesome costumes and entrains delightfully. Blackie imparts valuable knowledge on how to use these lovely guns on your homestead. He's like a dad showing his child in 1868 how to take care of business on the farm. Many thanks, Blackie!

Cool idea for the rear sight. Although Elmer put the bars in a front sight for extra long range shooting, your modification makes sense for the close range purpose of the cap n baller.

I know what you mean about a love of history, I find nineteenth century guns most interesting. I just wanted to mention a book I was reading yesterday said that Colt cap and ball guns were factory sighted in for 50 yards. If you decide to expand on that opening of the rear sight I would be interested in seeing it. Enjoy the videos and thanks for doing them.

Excellent. I handmake custom leather, and have made a flap holster for my brother’s BP revolver. While my design is period-accurate, it also accommodates OC- which is otherwise specious on a flap holster. PM me, I’d happily make you one; I need to know how you carry it, on what belt.

Good, common sense information! I liked and subbed!
I'm with ya all the way on the topics of snakes. Only twice in my adult life have I run across venomous snakes . One was a big, fat cotton mouth sitting right behind me, less than 12 inches away! The other was in the Mojave Desert (high desert) while jack rabbit hunting...walked up on a young rattler but didnt recognize it was a snake because it blended in so well with the desert floor. Snakes are not my favorite animal to come across at any time or place!!!!!
