What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

She seems like she could fit the support role pretty well, a slow with protection reduction (and a disarm if she uses her W), a leap with a knock up for initiation, and a crazy health shield/slow ult, also her global passive is nice

they are only adding politheistic pantheons. Judaism, Christianity, Islam has only 1 god...Jahve/God/Allah...Jesus is just another form of God (Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit). So it would be kind of pointless to add a new pantheon that has only one god :D Also they try not to use any currently popular religions. They had problems with hinduism as well, I guess that's why we have so few Hindu gods. Just check the drama around Kali's release...

Enough with the Greco-Roman gods, Smite! They're practically the same pantheon in most respects, so that's effectively 27 gods for them. That's more than any 2 other pantheons.. Give us more of the Hindu and Japanese!

And we're getting a Celtic pantheon next year? We don't even have enough Japanese gods to make a whole, proper team, haven't even reached two digits for the Mayan, Hindu, and Japanese gods, and even if we did then that would use up every month of next year save for two god slots.
I love Celtic mythology--and I'd love to see Lugh, Cu Chulainn, Scathach, the Morrigan, or Balor show up (hell, King Arthur originated in Celtic mythology, too. He just got Judeo-Christianified). But come on, at least fill out what you already have before expanding.
We need more female Hindu gods, like Lakshmi, Sarasvati, or Parvati, and more Japanese ones I agree. But I would love a celtic pantheon, Morrigan, Andraste, etc. But above all else, I want Jormungandr the norse god. I mean we have Hel, we have Fenrir, just complete the trio of siblings please!

ikr just build full tank and watch as the enemy try to kill you but they cant cause they have to bust through your 2nd health bar and by the time they do they are dead cause of your team killed them. heck her athena taunt your going no where
The problem is her lack of damage. She's a great initiator, but once she's there, there's not really much she does. her 2 3 combo is pretty much belly flop on a higher cd, and her ult, while a great shield and slow, doesn't give her any defense. She can still be blasted down by an adc and her rend doesn't provide anything much.

coolchrisable Yes, but there's many tanks and bruisers that can act as their own follow up: Bellona, Tyr, Wukong, etc. Each of them can initiate and follow up, but Nike can't do that. She's a strong solo laner, but she's not super strong.

yeah but her team fighting is somewhat better but if shes going fully tank she needs follow up if shes going dmg then she can most likely one shot squishies but also get blown up really easy so i see her being played as a brusier and a tank and only really going dmg if her numbers are really good but what will make her broken is her W R combo

Yeah, obviously too much. They should change the move speed to be 4/6/8% move speed, but have the effect only be halved if an allied god is further than 85 units from her.

Soze Preiti 12% power is a lot, almost as much as a fully charge He Bo passive, and it's global and permanent. Not to mention it also grants move speed. The requirements looks like they'l take a while though, so we'll have to see. I wish they were a bit less easy though, since those are all things that eventually happen and just serves to help your team snowball. It would be nice if they were more on the side, like killing a certain number of large jungle monsters.
I think Nike is a shoe in for people's favorite god.
