when i heard spock give the intro speech, i teared up in the theatre.
Me too. I'm getting choked up now lol.
Shame he gave the TNG version rather than TOS
He gave the Spock version. If you compare what he says in Star Trek II, the text is the same as what he says here
we all did
You cut out the ship going to warp. Literally one second more.
I am so frustrated about this.
Data at least this video has the full monologue recited by the late Leonard Nimoy. You should be grateful for that.
If you look closely you can see it go to warp
that's maybe what they want to make you pay for the whole movie. XD
IKR that was the best part
RIP Leonard Nimoy
Rest easy, Mr Nimoy. The torch has been passed to a new generation, and I have a feeling that the legend of Star Trek is in good hands.
Jungoguy its ok, but I don't see the chemistry " between this kirk and spock developing quite like it did with nemoy and shatner. when spock died in ST2 you could feel kirk had lost a brother.
+Jake Harries RIP and God Bless Leonard Nimoy.
Live Long and Prosper (or as he said to alternate Spock "Good Luck").
Also R.I.P Anton Yelchin
ur a good man
They show the red impulse engines shutting down just before the Enterprise warps away. Gotta love that attention to detail.
And that moving part which opens at the top end of the nacelle.
@Dustin Reid wao men, what's wrong with it?
@Dustin Reid It doesn't matter what kind of warp speed the Enterprise got! It can be the same or not, you can't say that the warp speed from the 1900s need to be the same!
I still kinda get chills for this scene. For me Chris Pine seems very William Shatner-like with his pleasant demeanor, handsome smile, and confidence of a Starship Captain. Zachary Quinto, need we say more? Karl Urban, the whole cast...AWESOME!
In my opinion, the section where Leonard Nimoy dictates the Star Trek motto, should be used in any and all future STAR TREK
+Jody Pope On that, Rest in Peace Leonard!
+Jody Pope I say amen
They should use the one from Wrath of Khan. Closer to the original wording and also from the best Trek movie of all time
RIP Leonard Nimoy (March 26, 1931 - February 27, 2015), aged 83
And
RIP Anton Yelchin (March 11, 1989 - June 19, 2016), aged 27
You both will be remembered as legends.
RIP Anton Yelchin :-( Boldly go.
Marv3Lthe1 Warp speed.
True. So unfortunate he forgot to engage external inertial dampener on his Jeep. If he was paying attention on the bridge when Sulu forgot to disengage them, he would know...
A truly nostalgic finale that welcomed me aboard the Trekkie family seven years ago! RIP to Mr. Nimoy and happy 50th anniversary to Star Trek
I can't believe I loved to be in the Jedi Order and now I'm kinda interested into the Star Fleet, both sagas... WOW 🖖🏻⚔️ (I don't have lightsaber emojis 🥺😔)
@@fabianfalconbrindis1809 I’m more of a Star Wars fan
I love how after Spock comes aboard, Sulu's got this smile like he knows that all is right with the world now that Spock is the first officer.
1:08 - Tribute to Nimoy / Spock. Live Long & Prosper. Thank you for the memories.
RIP Mr. Spock. May you travel among the Stars and may you see old friends once again, somewhere out there.
Mr Spock useth his name correctly.
Damn auto correct. Lol.
Bonnnneeeesss! Buckle Up!
The first time, Leonard Nemoy said this, I cried because it was the warth of khan. The second time I cried because by the time I watched it, Leonard was already gone.
Live long and prosper and rest in peace!
Brilliant ending. It was sure nice to hear Leonard Nimoy's voice. He was a fine actor. There could not be a better Spock. RIP.
He passed the torch to the right man though
@@kamengamer5372 Indeed.
Hearing Spock give the intro speech makes me smile every time I watch this!
“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP.”
And what a great life he had. So many people's souls are bleeding and crying right now ... including mine.
Leonard Nimoy, he'll never die! He lives on in uncountable millions of fan-hearts.
We shall meet you on the other side! Until then .. Live Long and Prosper .. all of you.
Also, May the Force be with you Mr. Spock.
the final speech of Leonard Nimoy - priceless...
still get shivers whenever i hear those words...
The last time we will ever hear those words from one of our most favourite characters ever his logic is strong heart and his feelings made Spock who he is. Live long and prosper--R.I.P Lenard Nimoy
When Chris Pine says " Bones " he almost sounds like William Shatner. Then, of course, we have Karl Urban, who was DeForest Kelley.
And Simon Pegg was awesome as Scotty.
There were so many spots where you could have told me Karl Urban was lip-syncing to a recording of Kelley saying the lines, and I would have believed you. Gave me goosebumps how spot-on he was.
To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before! RIP Spock
Always thought that way was better. "No one" just implies that no life has EVER been there...Or that could just be me.
@@commodorejones8044 Yep. Actually befitting the principles of the Federation.
You can thank political correctness for the change
why does everyone hate lense flares???? i didn't even notice them until people kept complaining "too many lense flares" they look good
Fans love to nitpick and complain about anything that doesn’t match what they see in their heads as the perfect version of the thing they love.
@@AlasdairGR no, some people notice them and find them annoying
I find them annoying
I noticed them immediately, maybe next time open your eyes. they are damn annoying, looks like a film student with an expensive camera who didn't know wtf he was doing was filming this.
The way the music soars after Spock is named First Officer is such a magical moment.
I was smiling so much I felt my cheeks starting to hurt. I can't wait for ST 3, I'm so excited!!!!
As long it is not in this Alt. universe.
Why are you making me feel these things?! -tears of joy steaming down my face-
i love sulu's grin there once spock is aboard. It mirrors my own. It's like he knows that their little band is complete.
Live Long and Prosper, Mr. Spock
R.I.P.
Forever in our hearts Leonard you did Live Long And Prosper.
R.I.P Anton Yelchin and Leonard Nimoy. Nimoy's long legacy of star trek will live on.
RIP Leonard Nimoy
RIP Anton Yelchin
0:53
My favorite cue in the film, even beyond "Nero Death Experience", "An Endangered Species" and "Nero Fiddles, Narada Burns". So full of hope and optimism - can't wait for the next one.
When he said, " Bones " , just that way, he reminded me of William Shatner.
awww man... Never was this quote spoken better than in this clip. I'm gonna miss my scifi idol :(
RIP Mr Spoke :(
Mr. Spoke? :). Leonard would be fascinated. LLAP
Kenneth Ferrer LLAP why?
its live long and prosper. its spocks greeting of friendship. i hope im not being an ass. peace
Kenneth Ferrer no your not, actually, thank you for that
:)
R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy. LLAP.
Very much like that they didn't draw out the actual warp engaging like they do usually. The punch of the instant jump really fits.
I get chills from this. It reminds me always of the first Star Trek film that would spark the flame. I’ve now watched every show and movie at least 3 times.
"To boldly go where no one has gone before" - but where ever they go theres always someone there.
Fan of TOS before TNG was even aired and I approve of this. Some do not like the Kelvin timeline, but I love it! Leonard Nimoy hand picked his successor and it is totally logical, perfect for the role.
God speed Mr. Nimoy....
It never ceases to amaze me that the low brows who say that JJ gave Star Trek an unwanted proctology exam always seems to get Star Trek wrong.
-Kirk would never try to get Spock angry (This Side of Paradise)
-Kirk was never arrogant (practically the entire series and movies)
-Kirk would never say "I'm sorry" (WNMHGB, The Immunity Syndrome, A Private Little War, Obsession, The Naked Time, TMP)
-Star Trek has never been about revenge (TWOK)
-Star Trek is not about the humour (The Trouble With Tribbles)
Perhaps they should review Star Trek again to make sure their arguments actually have any weight.
You, sir or madam, are a true Trekkie.
Abigail Carroll Or Trekker if they prefer.
+Potrimpo Tribbles aren't the only humorous thing in Star Trek. For example, Star Trek V was a joke.
+Games101GH It wasn't horrible or anything, but it didn't live up to the Star Trek standard.
+Cooper S yes it did
that speech in the end, husky almost whispering asmr like
its so good
oh i love that Enterprise
It's nice that they gave nimoy the honour of saying those words
0:56 that look, they new they'd just made the dream team
That ending is just fantastic.
There was literally cheering in my movie theater when the Original Series music and into played.
Star trek is such a beautiful franchise. I genuinely believe it is one of mankind's greatest creations. It's mankind's naive and hopeful attitude towards our future. A seemingly impossible utopia that time and again has seemed out of reach, yet hasn't stopped visionaries from aspiring to. It is our Nobelist traits put to celluloid. A world without border's, nations, or race, just people collaborating together, and working in the collective best interests of mankind. This is a world I want to live in. Not the wastelands of Tatooine, or under the oppressive boot of a galactic dictatorship. True Sci Fi should inspire those who view it to work towards the future it portrays. Not to mimic our tragic past. We must believe that we can change.
It's nice to have Leonard Nimoy the original role as Spock from the original star trek he is a legend of Star Trek.
RIP Leonard Nimoy 🖖
You were the best actor for Spock
still really get sad when I hear Leonard Nimoys voice. Live long and prosper.
Goosebumps every where
Lol they were all talking to kirk before he even entered the room. If you listen, you can hear the door open as Uhura is talking. LOLS
I'm sort of warming to the exterior of the enterprise, and the engine room looks like a real engine room for once. I don't beleive that engine rooms are supposed to look pretty as they are the guts of the ship. As for the bridge design, I agree with you. Maybe it could look a little less like flat pack Ikea kitchen, all bright, shiny and fantastic plastic.
Have to wonder, should they decide to do a Kelvin-timeline version of TNG, who would the cast to play everyone be? Who would play Q? Would the villains be the Borg? Would Riker grow a beard over the course of the movie? How many times would Worf get tossed aside like he was nothing?
“If you would like, I can provide character references”
Such a good movie. Underrated with Star Wars coming out several years later. But this movie is amazing
Completely agreed - that engine room made me do a double-take at first. But then as I looked at it more, I realized... wait... engine rooms DO look like that!
I asked a friend of mine who had been in the Navy as a nuclear technician on one of our carriers - a man who is ALSO a life-long Star Trek fan, BTW - how he felt about the 2009 Enterprise, and he LOVED it because the engine room on that felt so authentic to him!
Oh - the aircraft carrier he served on?
CVN-65
The Enterprise.
^_^
That feeling when you're training for sprints with band resistance and the band breaks
Uhura’s smirk is everything :}
When the music of the original series started at 1:07, it literally brought me chills.
1:27 to boldly go - captain kirk's splitting of an infinitive against prescriptive approach to grammar - explanation as to why in lang there is no one appropriate answer
The line whole "to boldly go where no one has gone, before..." got me a 3* on my senior HS taks(Texas) test, only one in my class at the time. Really made me feel like the people who ready my essay felt the passion in it inspired by Star Trek and Mr.Nimoy/Spock🖖.
0:16
that expression like "i'm a... oh screw it".
God this is amazing, it gave me shiver!
I cried ridiculously at that in the theater.
I really like that attention to detail as well.
Such a great soundtrack
I can say the same of me. This was what made me interest in star trek. And you know what? IT IS AWESOME!
"BONES....Buckle Up." FTW
One of the scenes on the Transporter Room, you can see he is wearing lieutenant stripes on his sleave cuff. So either he was given a field promotion to Lt by Pike, or already carried that rank since he seemed to be in command training at the Academy (I'm farily certain Military Academy, or otherwise, operates like that). So he only really leapfrogged the Commander rank.
Or it's just simply a reference to Kirk in ToS wearing Lt stipes in the first few episodes of the series.
Every time I get to this part of the movie and hear Spock Prime recite the "Space, the Final Frontier" speech, it gives me chills!
Goosebumps every time...
Makes me cry like a baby
"bones.... Buckle up." Chris pine did the 'bones' just like William Shatner would've! Good job...hahaha :D
i always crack up when he says, "BONES...buckle up." They act like... it's just... i have no words.
RIP Leonard Nimoy! This scene made me tear up at the theater
I love this movie like there was so many memorable parts the arguments between Kirk and Spock and that litle green guy and the scene in the start of movie when he's a kid the snow scene the end fight it was just amazing can't wait for sequeal
RIP Leonard. Farewell Mr. Spock and mighty Galvatron! "Do not grieve Admiral, it is logical..."
For me, it's (finally) hearing the classic theme!
R.I.P to them both
Lens flair used to be something you tried to avoid, when did it become artistic?
***** They are quite noticeable and very distracting, what is the point anyway?
leonard nimoy at the end.... holy shiet can they make this any better
RIP Leonard Nimoy :(
1:09 OH MY GOD its so good.
Really strong ending. Too bad "Into Darkness" basically spun its wheels for two-plus hours to end up back in the same place.
I’d say the last 20 minutes ruined that film. It should have ended with Khan stealing the USS Vengeance and leaving the Enterprise to deal with Admiral Marcus’ mess.
Into darkness had it's oops, but was still cool. IMO, about on par with abrams TROS, as in still pretty good
I like the refitted impulse engines
And so it began!!
having all the movieclip stuff at the end kind of spoils the moment a bit, it's like watching an epic space fight and then out of nowhere seeing an advert for a lawnmower
I cry every time I watch this clip. I first came looking for this after I heard he passed.
Now where are the Movie Clips for Star Trek Beyond? I need to cry every time I see Spock looking at the picture of the old cast.
"Scotty, how are we doing?"
"Lens flare is at maximum, director!"
"Get Down!"
best scene of the whole movie....i loved the movie but this was an amazing way of handing over the reigns to a new generation and universe
1:08 Goosebumps….
best scene in the movie
the amount of flares in this movie
RIP Anton Yelchin. He played a young Kyle Reese in Terminator: Salvation.
Awwww im gonna cry
Just like all the paperbacks different writers different adventures and this is just as perfect so carry on and make it so.
I cried hearing this.
1:09
So satisfying... everytime
